I think legally it is required to enter over there but have never had it checked. It isn't very expensive compared to the rest of the trip. I think it has cost me from between $25 and $75. jetmba. I DID actually have it the time I got mugged and robbed (of around $120) in Latvia. The insurance company was German and all original police reports had to be submitted and notorized..... so much of a hassle... honestly I never sent the paperwork in.
