I'd appreciate advice. This site was recommended by other sites I've started frequenting, so I recently signed up and submitted my free profile. In the 2 or 3 weeks since then, 8 women have sent letters (which I can't read, of course). I noticed that in all cases, the ladies are "not independent", and my assumption is that it may actually be an agency submitting the letters or messages of interest. I learned this the hard way on EM, and I'm not quite sure yet if I'd like to invest here as well as the few other places I've invested money and time. I'd rather not waste my time or money talking through agency personnel if it's either a scam to get money per correspondence with lady or if my email won't actually be read by a lady (or at least the one represented in the profile). Thoughts?
This merely means that the ladies are using local agencies for mail translation and forwarding (i.e. internet access). Identity of all ladies is verified before placing ladies' profiles online, therefore they are genuine. If you'd rather not correspond through a local agency - you are welcome to exchange personal conttact details with a lady - all members are free to do that, and continue corresponding on your own provided that a lady has enough knowledge of English. It's against our policy for any agency to explicitly ask for, or hint at getting money for correspondence because our services are free for ladies. So if there is ever any suspicion on your part - please report at admin@fiance.com - we will investigate and stop working with such an agency immediately. If you have any questions or concerns - please email at admin@fiance.com - we are always glad to assist.
Story...maybe this is not really for you. It deals with risk/reward..... sounds like you got burned, sorry to hear that. Imagine you were in Las Vegas....sitting in front of a 'one-armed-bandit' would you put money in and pull the lever? would ya???
If not, move on, if so, invest some money and find out for sure what is happening instead of sitting there and assuming things.
You pays your money and takes your chances. I consider myself no expert on the subjec of foreigndatine, but after 3 years and God only knows how many dites I've been on, the most common scams I've run across was on domestic U.S. dating sites, and thus far I've noticed that the ones of this type are less "risky" than the domestic ones. I've been "played" and am unashmed to day so. Anyone that thinks "it only happens to the other guy better think again" but I don't let that stop me as I believe thta the majority of the peo;e both the men and women are sincere here but like the old Roman proverb "Caveat emptor" you have to be on top of your game all the time or it can and will happen to you.
