I really admire people like you who have done what I dream of doing. Giving up what I have and making the leap of faith...probably being poorer financially but happier. Odessa, Lugansk, Poltava, Mariupol seem like other towns that are fairly crawling with women who will send you any kind of letter, buttering you up. At some point, some age, I have to guess the women are more sincere? If they are average looking? What age, what age difference can you realistically expect to meet someone that would actually want to be with you? I am not in bad shape, full head of hair. Skinny perhaps. I get a lot of emails from women who are open to a fairly wide age range. It's all about the benjamins? How do they know who has what? Why bother writing to someone who maybe has little or no real money? How have you found teaching? Can you make a living at it, in Ukraine? I have thought about that, if jobs in the U.S. run out. Although I suppose the economy is sinking everywhere. Usually its her hometown because asking her to meet you in another city would be a great inconvenience to someone not even intrested. (flag no. 1) you meet the girl, probably with interpreter, and you think things are going well. next day, you call her, but she says, 'excuse me, no chemistry' or something like that... was there no chemistry? maybe. maybe not. maybe you never had a chance. like I said, these girs DO exist. can you complain to the agency. well, was it their fault there was 'no chemistry'. they are safe because you cant control human emotions. the sad fact is, we aren't holding any of the cards. if your not a good looking guy, i mean if your just average, the chances of you landing a hottie are not much better than in your own country. no matter what happens to the economy. there is some good news though. which i will elaborate on later. beemer18 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 12/15/2008 12:24:18 AM   What you mentioned gecko is true to many guys but if you are in control things do not turn out bleek. For instance, I meet in girls city because I have other girls lined to see, in case. So if no chemistry, no problem, next girl. If I need a interpreter, I'll use the girl's for first meeting after that no or maybe for short time next day. This will tell you if she is interested. I have never been to a girl's agency, in fact I have only been in 1 agency it was in Kiev. Last and only time....seems girls are just daters there. We may not be holding all the cards but we can stay in control. Part of being in control is focusing on 1 or 2 cities, get to know them well, make friendships, this will go a long way to making trip sucessful. Many times when I am on my trips..the girls call me...I give them my number and if they call we get together.....and when meeting I can usually tell if they are interested. Well, the good news still requires you to be halfway decent looking and know how to interact with people in a normal and social way. So lets assume you meet these criteria. If not, please try your luck in the phillipines because ukraine will rob you blind then eat you alive. You need to meet people in a way that you have direct contact with the women. Their are three ways to do this. The following is listed in order of preference (best to worst). 1) live there as a businessman. Make friends with locals. At first, with english translators working outside the marriage agency, then with her friends. Go to events, clubs together. In other words, create an environment where you can meet people through other people. This is still the best way, inmho, because, for some reason, people trust people who know other people. 2) free dating websites. fortunately, the local dating sites in russia and ukraine are free and heavily used. There are many sites, but they mostly point to the same database of people. Try love.optima.ua for one. although it has many other names. 3) sites where you can get direct contact info. i.e. brides.ru. i think this is self explanatory. Note: ukraine is by far the most traveled country because of the non-visa rules. because of this I would say that russia represents the best opportunity to meet someone because of the lack of competition.
