Hey guys (and Olga) I received a reply on my private mail box and the girl is very cute but I need your opinions. Do you think the warning flag is up here? I post some of the words from her first letter… check it out.
Dear Mr Hendrix, I would like to stay in touch with you, but I have no computer
of my own and don't know English well enough . So I need to go to a computer
service company (Internet Cafe) and pay for translation, photo scanning,
e-mail box support and typing letter.
My salary gives me an opportunity to live at a very low level, meanwhile the
Internet cafe charges are Ute high. I cannot afford their service without
some help from you. I agree to take half of the expenses on me. I do
not want to use any company as they take a lot of money for
translation and I think correspondence is a too private thing.
I would be glad if you tell me about the family you was brought up in,
about your work and qualities that you would like
your soul-make possess. What are the most important events in your life and
why you are looking for a true Love in the Internet? Probably it is enough
for the first time.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Sincerely yours,
Elena.
Hey Jimi, My opinion is this sounds great! I would prefer to make some sort of secure contract with a internet service provider. She is not asking for a lot and willing to share the burden, and hers is greater. Bottom line if you investigate the average service costs and she is legit with her request then there is nothing to be concerned of.
Good luck!
Jason
Half of your money is better than all, but not as good as none at all. After being in the search for quite a long time, as soon as money is discussed, there should be a flag. Tell her you cant send money because you have to save it to see her, see what she says. Also, what is so private unless she wants to talk dirty. I am under the impression (Given by our dear Olga) that Russian women are proud of their correspondence with western men, so what is so private about a few "I love you's"? If I were you, my man, I would delete this woman from your file.
I agree with chipscher. And its definitely a warning flag, especially if you've exchanged just a few messages.I can understand the situation if you knew each other well and you could be sure that she is really interested in you...
Moreover, she says she will have to go to internet cafe to make translations, but in the same time she says she doesnt want to use any company because corerspondence should be private. It doesnt makes any sence, for me anyway. She says that she is ready to pay half of the expenses...but how do you know that she does't gets the same "half" from the other men too? You say that the girl is very cute, of course she should be, thats the main weapon here ;-)) Ugly girls will not ask you to pay for corerspondence, they will do their best to stay in touch themselves ;-))
I dont mean to say anything bad about this lady that wrote you, I dont know her. May be she is really nice and sincere... But dont send any money untill you know the person well enough.Too many scams start from this-please send me some money for correspondence. It may not be much-30-50$ but as I said, who knows that she is not getting those 30-50$ monthly from other men?
she must be in a purple haze with cheeks glowing when she hears your name, and possibly she's flying a high as well then.
It sounds like a first letter/reply, and she calls you Mister. Rest assured a translator would have taken any name verbatim (she probably writes this herself anyway), and I assume you've given her your name.
But the point is she asks you for 'sharing' expenses up front. By all means continue with her (don't send money) and find out what amount she suggest (you don't) 'cause this way you'll learn. In fact you should try to continue until she gives in and up because this way you can probe and try all kinds of (real and lame) excuses, see what she swallows.
Only one way to learn, and practise makes perfect. And playing is fun eh?
Oh, and when she gives in, and if it has been clear she's not 'real' but tries to make a (good) living instead, inform the moderators and post her on a scam-site with all possible details?
On this point - you've checked her out already have you?
Just to continue my point. Is it not possible to contact an internet provider in her area and pay for time of use. This way you are dealing with a business (hope fully legit) and fixed up front costs. That way is she recieves no cash she will show her intent.
