It would appear, at least recently, quite a number of guys come to ask for a reference on a particular agency or website and whilst I see some value in that, even to the extent I wouldn’t mind seeing an agency review thread where each could post their particular experience with a certain agency or website, I see a wider pattern in which the poster seems to want to sure up their faith in a given agent, website or whatever and thereby feel somewhat secure in pursuing their dream via that means.
My (and I stress, my, others may differ) conclusion from a few years of observation is this methodology is fraught with hazards. IMO there is no security whatsoever in finding a “good” or “honest” agency. Agencies are one, among many, means of meeting a potential partner. If one is to rely on a third person or party to lay the groundwork for what should be the most important decision they will make in their life it would seem to me they are either lazy or completely underprepared for this pursuit. I do think agents have their place, although I have never used one, but to attempt to find an honest agent or website and then think one is somewhat secure in knowing the girls will be real, the agent won’t try to take advantage etc is IMO naïve.
It seems to me that good and bad women can be found among good and bad agencies and or websites. There are obviously some stand out “No Go’s” which should be avoided for the most part but on the whole it appears there is a sprinkling of everything across all meeting mediums. I think guys need to get focused on what they want, learn the obvious things to avoid or red flags and paddle their own canoe, even if they do use an agent for all or part of their trip/s.
The bottom line is, there is no value or security in an agent or website if you are not in control. You simply cannot decide to jump on board because you believe they are honest and expect everything to be fine. It’s your life, your dime and your love. By all means use agents if that is your taste but make sure you know and more importantly they know who is calling the tune.
Dun....what do you mean by 'agent'? Is 'agent' same as agency? We had a poster here, Bondd( I think)that offered his services, is this what you would call an agent?
IMHO, most problems don't start with agent or agency or websites, it is the men who have some kind of preconceived notion that these FSU girls are just clamoring to get after westerns. To be so naive to think some girl thousands of miles away, knowing nothing about you, stringing together some very appealing words can so easily turn you into butter.....where do I send the money, dear???
For those who have done their homework, it puts you in the best situation BUT things can surely fall apart rather quickly and better have something else to fall back on, nothing worse than coming home with tail between legs a week early.
Meeting a girl is the only way to know for sure about her...as they say, a meeting is worth a million words. As long as you get into this with your head screwed on properly, with reasonable expectations....... have some fun and meet those girls......
IMO, websites are all mostly the same,so I agree with you on that, Dun, there are girls there sincere and not sincere....trouble is finding the good ones. I have only dealt directly with 1 local agency one time, they serve their purpose for communication in beginning and maybe to set up a first meeting, they never enter my mind at anytime. These 'agents', is something new to me and should be considered as an alternative, certainly best early in your search.
Beemer: Agent, agency, website, guide (mostly), any of these and more. Any entity providing an introduction service. I see guys trying to establish the credibility of one or other of these and place their trust in them if they are apparently OK. IMO that is a big mistake. By all means, use any and all of the above means but make sure you are simply using them as one tool in your kit, in other words, don’t imagine they will do all the hard yards for you and all will be fine. You are the one doing the work and they are simply one tool to use along the way.
Much of what I see reminds me of an orchestra in action. The conductor in control is usually the one working up the sweat whilst the musicians produce what the conductor requires. At the end of the recital, the conductor is the one bowing to the audience and receiving the accolades. Now which part do you think most punters in this caper play? Ain’t the conductor role for the most part and it should be the conductor role.
