This is a good place for the Russian community because there`s no need for visas, and the trip to the DR is also easy for guys from the USA too. The beautiful island life is quite different from Eastern Europe, I heard that Russians are " taking over" literally buying everything they find in the island. A local real estate company cites that the Russian buying power now reaches more than 60% of total homes and condo sales. Places like Sosua, Cabarete, Puerto Plata and Cabrera now see many Russians among its new citizens.
