Maybe I am wrong and should give it more time but I need to see progress. It is very easy to get caught up in a girl that only enjoys the time together and is not developing the relationship. Only way to know for sure takes time. I do have a theory about age differences between western men and FSU women. I have heard many times that if you cannot date a young women at home why do you try in FSU country. Well, in last couple months while doing side work with Walmart at home, I have got very friendly with several young girls at stores, to the point of having lunch together. I am not some dirty old man trying to pick up on them, which if they do not know you..will see you as this. I have been asked to get together in evening, which I find interesting but because of society here the parents would probably freak out!!! Back to my trip.... I met my gf in Kiev for a few days this time to be alone where she does not go home at end of evening. Flight with Air France went very well, in fact it is my favorite from LA, get to kiev with one stop in ~14 hours. Brushed up on my french....avie vous francais, mercie...Contrary to some here I did rent apt with urent, I brought my euros to pay because that is how they charged, I got good exchange rate from home. Did have a couple small problems with apt, was stuffy and had odor, after venting out and turning ac on, also they tried to charge me a few extra euros for apt and transfers. Did much walking around in on Khreschatik, looking in many shops, my gf was looking for a handbag(purse), which I went along with unless 'purchase' came up. She was looking at $200-$300 bags. To tell a little bit, we are taking our relationship slowly, so if asked to buy, I will say maybe one day when wee are closer. Went to several movies, I enjoyed them, even while they were in russian, I get some of it from words I know and what I see but they speak way to fast. I have to ask sometimes what is going on. This is my second easter to celebrate(last week at home). The celebration here I find interesting. We bought special foods to blessed at church to eat that morning. The people were coming to and from church from midnight to throughout the day. You just see many people walking around with bamboo baskets. Because of holiday, we were not able to take trips to see the city which was only negative aspect. So now off to odessa where I feel more comfortable. One thing to add, my domestic flights were very inexpensive, $115 roundtrip, which turned out to be a propeller airplane, don't like those, felt like I was riding on a lawnmower.....just added 10 more minutes for flight. Seeing one girl for a couple of weeks, but with a backup plan in case things go horribly wrong was how I did it too after meeting each of my two significant women at Romance Socials. By that time of course I had gotten to know them much better through calls and letters than I had at the Romance Social itself of course. Still its different actually being there with them for a few weeks. And unthinkable that you wouldn't have an "out" if things get completely messed up. As you get to know a girl, certain aspects can arise that will/can change how you feel about a girl. For some reason the girls I see here look more interesting than in kiev, maybe it is weather, maybe it is the smaller city, maybe it is location of my friends restaurant(facing area that buses unload) legs...legs......legs with heels, not so much boots, haaaaaaaa, good to be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't seen the gf since sunday, we got together for dinner and I got a surprise, she brought a friend along. Ordinarily, this would be bad but I did tell her I wanted to meet everyone that is in her life, so it was my doing. I did wonder if my bill would double with extravegant dishes while knowing we would be going to disco later($$$). Bill only came to $70 which I was happy about. I do wonder exactly how the higher exchange rate has affected prices. I am told that prices went up when exchange rate went up which would make it more difficult for ukrainians. Since it was early, we went to a cafe for pre-drinks, load up on alcohol BEFORE disco where prices are higher. The friend of my gf didn't speak english so there was much interpreting going on back and forth. I didn't mind, I do have much trust in gf and it was her best friend. At disco, cost only for me under $4 and girls were free, it was week night so not very crowded. Still plenty of YOUNG beautiful girls...boy do they know who to show what they got!!! I do have to say, if a guy has a strength, have it emphasized. I like to dance, so going to disco you can impress girl. Since I move around rather well when not in wheelchair with o2 mask on, I make sure the girls sitting around can get a good look at me, since the gf doesn't dance as long as me. I can surely get them to watch me for a bit!!! I am still adjusting to learn to be at ease because it is normal here to get up and dance by yourself, even for guys, NOT something I would do at home!!! At end of evening, my bill was under $30. Great to have good time and not have to lay out $$$$$. What I did find about gf, when I didn't talk with her on Monday and I told her I didn't get up till almost noon next day ,she asked what I did night before. She asked if I was out looking at the beautiful girls in odessa, I said no, I have found the one that I am looking for...you!!! Scoring points all the time!!! Usually shuts them right up. :) Our society and the parents will always attack you for dating a young girl half your age. They will only make an exception to their high morals if you are a celebrity, rock star, or professional sports player. Then its ok. So, I could care less what my hypocritical society thinks of me. I to have used the Kiev trip to get a girl away from her everyday life and have her all to myself. You usually learn a lot about the girl when you are with her 24/7 and have taken her to the New York of Ukraine. One of my girls also was looking at hand bags for $300-$500 and coats for $1000. She got both out of me but only because she was a super hot 20 year old and she took good care of me for five nights. We both left Kiev with a smile on our face. :) It sounds like your Odessa is my Kharkov. I know Kharkov just as well as my own city. I have been to Odessa myself a few times. Like Kiev I found Odessa a great place to take a girl but not to meet one there. And yes Kiev women don't seem to stack up against girls from the other cities like Kharkov, Odessa, Nikolaev etc. Your disco experience is spot on! :) I also had to adjust that it was ok to dance alone or even with a wing man in the night clubs. The girls will definitely check you out and some times join the dance floor to catch your eye. Very normal for your gf to want to know how you spent your free time the night before. It’s valuable to have local friends and new tourist in your pocket of excuses.  How long are you in Odessa? I travel to Kharkov May 5th for my 14th trip. One day I was off to crimea in a train...instead I am off to sofia.....I guess spontaneous decisions can be exciting. I guess my focus has been in odessa, slowly I am branching out away from center and using small buses @ 2uah, if not there are many 'taxis' to flag down with your arm. If the girl you meet turns out to be nothing but a spoiled gold digger who wants you to buy her all kinds of expensive gifts at least you should get something out of the deal. Still I have to agree that it was a lot of money you spent just to get some sex from her. But in my case the girls I met in the past who turned out to be gold diggers I was lucky if I even got a kiss from them and they expected me to buy them whatever they wanted. Personally I would rather die miserable and alone than to ever meet another girl like this. But if the men travelling to Ukraine to meet these girls keep enabling behaviour like this from them the (bad) girls will keep thriving and doing this. The girls I met we're from agencies and personally I think there are good girls there who really do want relationships but they are not to found in the agencies. It's just my view after talking and meeting girls from agencies for awhile now. (not anymore though) I would not bother with them. I would just stick to sites where you can get direct contact with them or if you are just able to travel there and meet girls in person is much better. It seems like I am always reading a new story on here about how some guy got taken to the cleaners by an agency and an agency girl. I knew I was gonna get some shit about spending all that money just to get laid. Actually the gifts came about on day 3 of our trip. Up until then she was very pleasant company and the sex was great. After the gifts, days 4 and 5 were just as good. :) The $1400 guess by Martin was about right. The two large gifts plus a couple of small ones. So if my math is correct that's about $280 a day. Food, drinks, and entertainment can't be included because that cost would have been realized with any girl I invited to meet me in Kiev. I don't know of any hooker in Ukraine (I hear in Thailand it is much less LOL.) that will stay with you 24 hours, cook you breakfast, clean the apartment, take bubble baths with you, wash your clothes, and sex up to 4 times a day. I had the same situation having a girl meet me in Odessa. She shows up in the Morning. First things she wants to do is go shopping. She takes me to some huge outdoor market away from the center. Maybe Beem knows the name of it. I already understood these type of markets have everything and are much less than the shops on the street so I went along with it. It was a rainy day so it cut the shopping short and probably saved me a little money. She spend about $100 worth of stuff. Throughout the rest of the day and night she treated me like shit. Even hit on our waiter at the restaurant and asked for his number. She didn't realize I understood everything she said in Russian. That night she slept on the sofa and I in the bedroom. Next morning she wakes me up and tells me lets go shopping again. I tell her no. I tell her she is packing her bags and getting out of my apartment. You should have saw the look on that bitches face! If you try to use me and treat me like shit then you get the boot in 24 hours or less. The first girl was a sweet heart but was obviously looking for a man with money. Local or Foreign. I met both girls on a local dating website all in Russian. I spent the money on her in Kiev because I chose to. I liked her and she was great company. I think you should attack the other guys who promote the scammers by paying for each letter sent and received. Send money before they even meet them. Etc etc. I'm not rich man but I do have money to spend when I want to. Haven't given money to an orphanage yet but I did give $300 to an old babushka who lived next door to my flat. Greeted me every morning outside the building door. I adored her. I don't travel to Ukraine just to have sex. I have a completely different attitude when I travel to Ukraine than I did when I first traveled there 6 years ago. I have no delusions of finding my future wife there. I go there with the same attitude of a single guy who is traveling to New York for a holiday. I hope I meet some hot girls, I hope I get some hot sex, I hope I have a great time, and who knows during this trip by some chance I will meet the girl of my dreams. I treat Ukraine just like any place else. I go to have fun and anything else is just a bonus. You see Bill I adapt to my environment. If the girl is sweet and genuine then I am a gentleman. If by chance I meet a good girl that I want a relationship with then I don't even think about bedding her. If she is a scammer, a pro dater, or just a bitch. Then I become the sex tourist and beat them at their own game. I've scored many for the boys team. :)So, I do teach the girls. Girl I came to see had to work some of the days I am here, which gives me time to look around during the day. I walk by the parks and sit and watch people. The funny thing is to see a guy walking with two girls and HE is older.....as you hone in to listen for english language...you find you are proved correct!!!! Seems I can pick these out from far away. A young girl....with the other girl doing most of talking.....jeez, I hope I never looked that bad. I see this even in outdoor restaurants....almost like when you buy a new car and afterward all you see is same car as yours everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! Tried a couple different restaurants this time, fanconi, buffalo, estrella and a japanese ones I cannot spell and also some out of center area, near where gf lives. Went to an opera this time, in french I think, not my cup of tea but I tried. The opera house was spectacular inside, all glistening like new, really impressive. Girl lives outside city about 25 minutes. I was able to catch either taxi( with arm out) or small bus to her area. I asked about outdoor market Deano talked about, it is not far from this area. I was told that it is huge market that you can buy most anything there. Last couple days, I was asked to go visit area where girl lives. Apparently she got tired of going to downtown area to meet me, it is rare she goes there in her everyday life. She also told me that it should be guy that visits the girl, she is very much an independent thinker, also it gave me chance to branch out my knowledge of the outskirts of city, going in the southern direction. I still am not sure about North/South directions, so many streets curve and wind and don't always have a name of street on corner, so I notice where there is a McDees or a certain gas station. It did cross my mind a couple times getting into a car with a stranger...... where is he taking me??? Top an empty lot or field with his friends waiting...ok, ok vivid imagination. One rule girl told me, never get into a car with more than 1 guy, she doesn't, so I don't either. Went to a beach area, south of arcadia, with girl. Beaches are a big part of my life at home, so this was a treat for me. Not many people there, lots of work going on preparing beaches for the summer. It was kind of warm. We got to talking a lot while sitting in the sun....slowly the clothing was unraveling.......more and more was being revealed.....I'll stop at that!!! We started to talk about visiting another country, of course a villa/resort somewhere near water, my kind of vacation..........dominican, barcelona,tuscan area....just have to see what is involved in visiting a western euro country for her. On my flight back home, I met a few american guys in odessa that live not far from me, who knew? What is interesting is they were part of production crew that was filming for a pilot series on "Romance Socials". I didn't know but anastasia had a social in odessa while I was there, wish I had known...I could have partied with the crew!!!!! It was interesting to talk one of the guys. He did not have much postive things to say about the guys that were part of the social. He used the word challenged......that it was good that there were way more girls than guys that maybe it could help the guys demeanor. I am not putting down any aspect about the "social", just telling you what these guys were thinking. I have never been to one. Some guys it is good for and have done well. When I find out when/if pilot comes on, I will let you know.
