I tried to be really honest and even radically confrontational about all the pretty profilesques when I wrote to girls on this site. I mean, I was not disrespectful, but very, very straight about what I am and what I want, romantically and practically speaking. I found out really quickly (1 or 2 letters) just which of these girls had the stuff to stick by me through thick and thin. I opened my heart but also assessed the reality of a possible life together. I resisted the temptation to write lots of letters or respond to every pretty girl who wrote to me. It's tough I know because there are so many pretty girls aren't there! Until you know them, that is all they are though, just pretty faces. Of course I only responded to girls who I fancied but I also looked for something deeper and darker than that. Only one girl(my fiance)wrote a true response to the things I said and built a rapport with me which grew into deep feelings for each other. So don't keep writing if you don't start developing some kind of connection pretty quickly and if they don't speak English well, don't bother at all! You will be corresponding with people from a far away country, but more so, you will probably have to visit there, and spend a lot of money for the trip. I do not know where you are, but from Miami, airfare to Moscow is $800.00, which is the absolutue cheapest I could find. Then you are talking hotel, food, gifts, etc. I woul dhave to say you would need to save at least $5000.00 to even consider a trip. I am not trying to turn you off, if you want to go for it, then by all means, go, but really think about this, this isn't as simple as placing a classified ad and setting up a dinner date. kzjazz Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 12/29/2003 6:23:51 AM   some nine months ago i met a girl in one of the ex russian states. we fell in love and since then we managed (just) to get her a tourist visa which allowed her to stay with me in the uk for 36 days. we reapplied on xmas eve for another tourist visa for a period of up to six months but she was refused and i was told that they did not believe she would return, and that they felt she would seek employment. Niether of these things are true but there was no right of apeal. She can re apply on 5th Jan. Any advice ?
