Has anyone had any interaction with the Dnipropetrovsk Brides Agency? A woman who I am interested in is a member of this agency. I asked my girl if I could have her mailing address so that I could send her some souvenirs from a trip that I had and the Dnipropetrovsk Brides Agency sent me a message (using her account) to request that I fill out a Client Attestation form for $85.00 USD in order to check my criminal background and my marital status, to offer their services for a translator for $100 per day, and to offer to make my travel/lodging arrangements for me. They would not release her home address without checking my background first (a wise choice to ensure the woman's safety).
I have three concerns. First is that I am reluctant to give my sensitive personal information and money to any person or organization that pops up out of nowhere and petitions me for money and personal information that can be misused. Second is the Dnipropetrovsk Brides Agency wants me to send cash through Western Union. That wreaks of a scam just like the Filipina scammers. I can't pay with a credit card? Third is that the agency sent me the message using my girl's account so that I thought I was going to get a nice message from her and instead I got a request for sensitive information and cash. It seemed to me that it was unprofessional to approach me in that way. The agency couldn't send me an email? They had to use my girl's Fiance.com account to send me a message? The whole thing just seemed sloppy and unprofessional.
I am a 100% green new'b' to the FSU dating scene, but I wasn't born yesterday. I am careful to give out sensitive information to anyone and I am particularly averse to sending money via Western Union to anyone except my sister. But I know that you guys are seasoned veterans with dating women from the FSU and I respect your opinions on the subject. Do I have a right to be concerned or is the Dnipropetrovsk Brides Agency a reputable, trustworthy agency that I can trust with my personal information?
Maine_man, if they sent you such message via fiance.com email to admin@fiance.com please. agency is not supposed to do it. if lady wants she can give you her address. we will investigate that agency, and help you. or PM to me.
You might be a newbie but you're name certainly isn't 'Bjorn Yesterday' :) Stick with it mate and drop admin an email as Olga suggests.
P.S. I hasten to add, despite idiots posting to the contrary, that I am not, nor have I ever been, an employee, nor an affiliate, of fiance.com in any way.
P.P.S. It comes to something when one finds it necessary to add a disclaimer tag to one's posts due to the 'idiots' element of the forum members immature and childish allegations.
Maine-man ... take it from another man from Maine ... it's a rip off. The background check is a formality (although an important one according to US law) and they shouldn't charge you for it.
However, it isn't uncommon for places to accept money through Western Union. Credit is not the same in the FSU as it is in the U.S. A lot of places don't take it. But basically if an agency is asking for money other than the cost of correspondence it is not a good sign.
Any agency that prevents you from exchanging address information with the girls is probably not an honest agency. There are enough agencies with better reputations so that you can skip this one.
Jimslists.com is a good place to go to check on agencies. It might be helpful to you, I can recommend a few agencies I've worked with that have been good experiences.
The bottom line is, don't get caught up on a particular girl. You may think one specific girl is the most beautiful you have ever seen, and in spite of the agency, you just have to write to her. If you are patient, another girl from an honest agency will come along, and you will forget about the first one.
Also, don't write to anyone unless you have a plan to go. If you haven't been to Ukraine, get there! It is a great experience.
Thank you so much Olga for the help from you and Oleg. I can't thank you enough. Also great thanks to SmartMartin!, Artinshki, and Sooty. You all have helped me greatly and you have my gratitude. Thanks to all of you kind people.
Sooty has cindy agency sent you a message to request that you fill out a Client Attestation form for $85.00 USD in order to check your criminal background and marital status. Or have they offered translation services for $100 per day.
I have paid the fee to allow ladies to give me their address on cindy agency and it was $25 exactly as it is printed in their services page on their website. And both times I requested an address I got and it was on the first contact with the lady. I think I have a good reputation with the staff there and that very possibly carried weight in the lady allowing me to have her address.
Any interpreters I hired there were hired by the hour and I never saw or heard that they billed them out by the day. The interpreters kept account and at the end of each day reconciled their charges to make sure I was in agreement.
I have a general concern about doing pay per letter but see no similarities with Maine_mans report and Cindy. If they have treated you this way elaborate on it. If not do not paint that picture of them.
Cindy Agency send/receive letters, for $$$ per letter, without the lady(s) knowledge.
The joke is that they can only do that criminal background check etc, I believe, for US citizens due to that new law that was introduced a while back. Any other nationality they can't do a check on, check marital status? Some years ago I was asked if I could prove that I was single but it cannot be proved, one can prove if they are married or divorced by provided documentation but one cannot prove that they are single.
My question will always stand. Why use agencys for any reason beyond correspondence? Even that with some agencys can be risky. You never know how they will translate something to a girl if they even do.
Find a common ground with the woman, move her away from the sphere of agency influence. The brain washing that goes on with the agency is funny. They have some of these girls believing they can't do this without them. Then ask your ladies after you have found the "one" how much help the agency provided them for their document preparation. That's a big laugher. Ooops you're no longer an income producer for us. See yaaaaaaaaa!! You got it your girls butt is kicked to the curb.
Some will argue that the agency told them you need this document and that document all along getting a cut from some corrupt government agency. They agency will tell them they know about your immigration requirements more tha you do.
Nope keep the girl and DUMP THE AGENCY as soon as you can with the lady.
