Just wanted to say, that my fiance's Prospective Marriage Visa has been approved. She went to Moscow to submit the application and be interviewed in mid May. Then on Friday, a little over 2 months later we were informed that it has been accepted.
We're planning to see each other in Thailand first. Daria was in Australia with a Tourist Visa in February and March, so already having this Visa probably sped up this process.

Good news for you both - I know the process only too well and understand the frustration that can come with the waiting etc
Without trying to expose your/her personal details - you say she came to Aussie twice on a tourist visa earlier in year (this would have most definably been a contributing factor to success on this visa) I take it you have not been over there before ??? Daria must have a good job with good income to have succeeded in the tourist visa's ????
Interested to hear on her tourist visa application process and how difficult was it for her to get ???
We think that was actually the main factor behind the Tourist Visa, but yes, there were a lot of things that needed to be proven. She actually received 1 Tourist Visa and stayed in Australia during February and March.
Proving intent to return is off course the hardest part of the application. But neither of us have jobs with huge salaries, so it is possible. The reasoning that we provided was that it was important for her to see my country before our relationship could develop further. And support letters from our parents also helped, as it means it is not being hidden.
And a letter from Daria's employment was also vital. She was lucky as her boss agreed to sign anything she put in front of him, so it was possible to exaggerate the salary a little :)
So you put in the full "9 yards" then - well done.
It’s not easy to do and the NZIS in Moscow is similar to the Aussie one.
I hated them over my 1st FSU (lets say exp - cause that was exactly what it was) dealings.
They refused my Samara lady a visit visa and I went back and spent more time and then saw cracks (no pun intended) a mile wide in our relationship. I had been hooked into the "pretty/sexy/beauty on arm" brigade and the Immigration process set in place stopped me going down a dead end street that would have hit a wall and been of huge cost to both of us - me financially and her emotionally and family etc.
So - as much as we despise their Gestapo approach and regimental process's - it does sort the chaff from the wheat !!!!
MC - I didn't remember that you had been over there - I now understand - again well done and good luck for your future.
