Here is a reply I recieved from the travel agent. Now, bear in mind, this is for a lady to come to the USA from the Ukraine. They make it sound like it is a sure deal to get the travel visa. We will gladly give you all the necessary information about a trip to the United states of America. A trip to the USA implies the return ticket, tourist visa, insurance for the period of the stay in the territory of the country. Usually it takes about 21-28 days for the tourist visa being issued. We must admit that it's possible to obtain the visa to the USA for the period of time from 7 till 90 days. Meanwhile we try to find the most comfortable and convenient flights for our client. The whole trip to the USA including the tourist visa, return ticket, medical insurance, notary attestation of the papers, required at the Embassy varies from 1450 USD till 2100 USD. This leaves no recovery of your funds if you have a dispute. No protection for you at all! A good and honest travel agency will accept credit cards. I compre them to another travel agent I have dealt with, Virgina Agency in Yoshkar -Ola. They have a full website, you can e-mail the agents at the virginia.ru (or something like that) domain, and they took credit cards. I am going to reply to the girl that I have gotten an e-mail form the travel agent, anbut I hope she understands if I check withthe US Consulate to investigate. Now they come back to say that a lot of companies do not have websites. I pointed them to one travel agent in a small town that has a very extensive website. I also asked why they do nto take credit cards, and I have not gotten a reply back. This agency write , that it is at the Ukraine. But it’s e-mail address is flamingo_2000@pochtamt.ru Ru – means Russia. Pochtampt.ru – it is Russian free of pay server, and you even cannot make your site on it. Which serious agency will have such e-mail address ? Second - no one serious agency will us Western Union transaction system. May be such situation – ( the most likely, it will be ) if you will agree with this agency, they will ask you send a money, and tell that start make a papers. And after month they will tell that embassy wasn’t give visa to your girl . Money don’t come back. And they even wasn’t give a phone. gladiatorUK Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 1/7/2004 6:28:29 PM   K.....you read too much into the endings of e-mail addresses,just because the ending is RU does not always mean that the sender is from Russia If you notice my own e-mail address is also a free Russian server...(front.ru),but I am based in the UK.The main reason for me using this server was a generous mail allowance. olegnay Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 1/8/2004 9:42:12 AM   getting visa to USA is totally different story from the tickets, travel and so on. if she gets visa you will buy tickets for her here in USA. she will pick it up the airport. travel agency flamingo is nothing but a person arranging travel for you. some travel agency, consultants take money to prepare for the embassy interview. it is needed sometimes. but, she will never get visa if she cannot proof that she is secure in Ukraine, and has no reason to not return to the country. Try it. she will be refused 99 % . you will loose only 200$ max. the best way, and I think you can find the same advise in this forum ( it has been discussed a lot): -travel to Ukraine, meet her there. If it works out between you and her. make all necessary arrangement for fiance visa. Consult immigration lawyer before you go. so at least you spend money for your won trip and fun. then when you return apply for fiancee visa for here. it may take 2+ month. but she will get it. and you will have a chance to try out for few month. if it doesn't work she will have to return home. chipscher Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 1/8/2004 4:44:58 PM   I have decided a long time ago she was a scammer. This agency thing was a big hint, but when she asked for holiday presents, and even gave me a website to buy stuff for her on, well that sealed it!
