I wish to send $100 digital camera to girlfriend via Fedex. Does anyone know the duty and how I can pay it so she will not incur this cost?
How do you know the fee? Is there a web site to use in the future for other gift shipments for birthdays and Christmas?
Thanks
There is no duty for that. I have sent that and quite a few more. I have sent about a dozen packages. Only one did not make it. Where it went, I don't know.
Fed ex should be ok for this, i would recomend use a track and trace on it and also signed for and insured. Your fed ex office should be able to tell you whether there is a duty charge on it. You can also check all the duty charges online at their website. I have always done all of this online i have never had a duty charge for anything.
I have always used U.S. post office global express for things under $100 ;-)
From Texas to Russia about 10 days and your can track your package on the internet.
Be aware that the package WILL be opened. All of my boxes of gifts sent to Russia arrived with red tape holding together when it was sliced open. Now, except for a power charge (maybe they saw the cords in the Xray, nothing was ever taken including an expensive electronic translator.
