A lot of guys seem under the impression that the Ukrainian women will fall at their feet. People constantly go on about the demographics out there, saying there are no men etc etc. Go to any club, bar, restaurant and see for yourself. Its evenly mstched in terms of guys to girls. There are plenty of good looking, wealthy ukrainian guys on offer.There was a programme on recently in England about the "mail order bride" If any of you saw this you would agree that the men on these socials were misfits to say the least! You can understand that if any FSU women chose to be with these guys it would be for visa/money only! Another thing is most women do not want to leave their country. What will they gain? No friends, no family, unfamiliar surroundings, language problems. On top of that they could be stuck with some fat guy twice their age! Hardly a recipe for success. There are plenty of women in the over 30 category that are single with a lack of decent available men. The same in any country! Why not pick someone 5-10 years younger? I watched the referred to programme when it was first shown last year, whilst I found it interesting it was clearly a made for TV production, something to keep the viewers entertained, and it did highlight on one or more misfits rather than an overall general view of, perhaps, quite ordinary (less viewable) people that wouldn't have made interesting viewing and caused the viewer to change channels. But surveys show there are still about 60 thousand women in Ukraine who want to get married to a foreigner. And over 250 thousand foreigners looking for a wife in Ukraine every year. And only 4 thousand couples foreign man + local woman marry every year. The figure I heard (which may well be wrong) is that only roughly 1 in 3 men who write actually travel out. Any thoughts? There were 3 English guys in their late 50's with 3 20 something year old local girls. These guys made you feel ashamed to be English! They treated these girls like pieces of meat. Hands all over their a****s etc while dancing with them. No respect whatsoever! Do they think these girls are for sale? I am in my 40s and my fiance in her early 20s. She left Russia only because she wants a life with me, but she would happily return (without visa/money) if I chose to move to Russia with her. Also, I may be a misfit too, because I went to one of those social tours (3 socials in one tour). In fact, they were filming a documentary while I was there. However, you cannot see me because I refused to sign the release form. I was there for the experience and not to be on TV. The people you see are usually the ones with the ego. Why did I go the FSU route? My social skills are Ok. I am old, but I made this decision when I was a lot younger. Therefore, that is not the reason either. My problem has always been "attitude." If I do not like the attitude of the women I meet in a certain place, I lose interest in every available woman within that environment. For that reason, I do not even say hello to women in my country ... in my mind, it is a waste of time (although I know that not everybody is the same). Instead, since I began this journey, I felt great with the attitude of most (not all) FSU women I met. So I kept focused on them until I found the one I found. The future is hard to predict, but so far my fiancee is happy to be stuck with a fat guy (almost obese according to the BMI) almost twice her age. I hope that I can keep her interested for a long time so we can have a real family together :-) She is indeed a keeper! That is why it is so typical for married well-off Ukrainian men to have women on the side. And both the Ukrainian men and the Ukrainian women know this (and the women are not very happy about it). THAT is why a foreigner still has a chance. Older men groping younger women? Sadly its a fact in Ukraine - but the women are not chained to these men. They can certainly resist or leave if they choose. And yet they put up with it. Why? Because that is often how they are treated by men in their own country as well. NOBODY in this forum seems to think that Ukrainian women will fall at their feet (well, except craigsutton at an AFA Romance Social). Most of us are quite realistic here. There are 7 277 548 women and 7 305 526 men in Ukraine at the age from 20 to 40. I am not saying you're wrong, but please site your sources, especially when you mention statistics. Statistics are sometimes funny. You can come up with any conclusion you want to depending on how you do it. I have different results on male/female numbers, but a different age group 15-64. 15,349,846 males. 16,7742,612 males. That means 1 of 12.5 females of that age group will not find a partner. I do agree that FSU women do not fall on their feet for a western man. One must not fall for their letters when they speak of love, especially when you have not met. But I saw a large ratio of women to men along Kiev, Zaporozhye, Simferopol and Yalta; more than the statistics I cited. Going up and down the long escelator to the subway trains, I always looked at the opposing escalator for women. I saw a ratio of 2 or 3 women to 1 man. I only went to one disco. It was a week-day in the middle of Kiev. I estimate there were 30 people there and about 20 of them were women. There were women dancing with women, women dancing on the halls and doorways. It’s not all about absolute numbers; there are other factors as well that do make an average western male more desirable there. I hate to have to agree with Jetmba now Sedler but he’s correct in saying they a small pool of desirable men over there and there is competition among the girls. That doesn’t mean there are more women than men or there are no desirable local men, just less than in the west which is largely due to with the economic conditions. “Do they think these girls are for sale? I just want the facts. If this is true, then we are all wasting our time, since for every Ukrainian woman looking to get married overseas, there are at least four men. The site you cited is a government site. I did not see this figure. It doesn't mean it isn't there.
