Over the net, no, however there is such a thing as "Marraige by Proxy" where you can be sent the official forms, you sign it, mail it back, and your fiance signs also. The ceremony can be performed over the phone, or just by signing the papers you can be considered legally married. A word of caution though, If you live in the United States, or if you are intending to marry someone sight unseen from the United States, the BCIS generally declines K-1 visas that are a result of proxy marraige, unless you have a specific religious belief that prohibits you from meeting someone before marraige.
Buerau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service). They are the ones who make the decision on visa applications, weather or not to accpet or decline.
Melkor..........would you really want to get married over the net????How is it possible to know anything of a prospective partner that way?Whatever your fears/reservations about visiting your lady,it is something that you HAVE to do.
Yes that is so Chip......the point I was making was that so many of these arranged marriages are more like a life sentence for one or both of the parties involved. And I for one subscribe to the view that a marriage should be as happy as it's possible to make it.
Glad, you are 100% right. Melkor, if you are reading this, please let us know what you are thinking, and why you asked that question. maybe we can offer some more practical advice for you.
Well we have met we spent 3 of the best months of my life together when she was over here in the UK unfortunately her stay wasn't permanent but we have still been contact ever since
OK, being you have met, you are ready to do the fiance visa, if you are sure she is the one for you. It is very easy, you fill out the paperwork, and she is going to need pictures of you two togeter toprove you are in love. I hear horror stories of people who try to get it done on their own, I would try to find an immigration attorney to help you with the paperwork and process. It might cost soem money, but it will be worth it in the long run.
Melkor......if you are ready to go the fincee visa route them feel free to mail me directly, and I can offer you the benefit of what I have learned.....you never know it might even save a little money too!!
