some nine months ago i met a girl in one of the ex russian states. we fell in love and since then we managed (just) to get her a tourist visa which allowed her to stay with me in the uk for 36 days. we reapplied on xmas eve for another tourist visa for a period of up to six months but she was refused and i was told that they did not believe she would return, and that they felt she would seek employment. Niether of these things are true but there was no right of apeal. She can re apply on 5th Jan. Any advice ? I am currently waiting for a divorce so cannot apply for a fiance visa at this time but we are desperate to be together. we speak at least once a day every day on the phone and this is very expensive!!
Apply for a shorter period, during the interview have her stress that she has gone before and returned. Here in USA if a girl is denied a tourist visa, she cannot get a visa to the USA for 10 years. Feel lucky that rule does not apply there.
Thanks for the advice, we will try for 1 month and take it from there. If that fails i intend to go over and talk to the embassy staff face to face. this will be in February. Everything seems to take so long !!! We only want to be together, these people seem to be there only to cause problems
Maybe if you go there with a lawyer, it will be smoother? I have read on other boards dealing with the process, and the people who say they have went with a lawyer, or had a lawyer prepare the documents had a much easier time. I remember one in particular: two girls went for their appointments at teh USA embassy in Moscow. 1 had a lawyer do everything, and 1 did't. the girl that had the lawyer was asked 3 questions in teh interview, the girl who didn't got asked 14 questions. The girl who did got the visa, the girl who didn't, well, didn't.
Kjazz,I am assuming you are from the UK and that is where you hope for your lady to be granted the visa for.
Let me add some info for you.A lawyer can help regarding the correct documnetation etc,and even possibly the correct wording on some of the more "open" questions too,but please be aware that the British Embassy in Kiev does NOT allow anyone into the interview with your lady......not even you!,but they will take into account the fact that you are there supporting your ladies appeal for her visa.
I do understand that it can be frustrating while you wait for your divorce to become final.Maybe you could postpone the application until then??
I am guessing here of course as I have no way of knowing what your timescale is....(and not prying either),but I do know the tourist visa "route" is a very difficult one, especially second time round.
Perhaps the best way a lawyer can help you is to draft an affadavit for you stating that you are responsible for your lady, until such time as you are able to apply for the fiancee visa. Not an ideal solution I agree but perahps a realistic one.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you both...........Good Luck.
Sorry , she will not receive a visa. Even at one month.
Because a lot of people come at country at tourist visa , and later marry. For example , at Denmark. There all marry take a week. And you need near no papers.
Best, what you can make – make your divorce, and after it make bride’s visa for her, or come at Russia.
Now it will be hard for her to have tourist visa, because there is mark at her passport and at their computers.
And , if absolutely serious - first have divorce and only later look for a new girl ;))))
this Denmark thing is new to me. You say it's a popular place to go to for Russian maidens and get married on the quick, for reasons of (I assume) ease of access as well as minimal papers being required.
What I don't understand from your posting is the logic - why marry there and then divorce, and then repeating this process (in Russia?) ?
I thought Finland was easiest to get in to, but I don't mind to be corrected on this. Please explain a bit more because I'd like to know more?

I’ll explain. Polygamy punish with a law. ( of course, if you don’t live at Muslim country ).
So, if somebody already marry, he must first have divorce. And meet a girl better when you are free. And , at my opinion , it is more honest.
Marry at Denmark – all procedure take a one week, and this marry is legal at a lot of countries. I cannot give you list , at which , but if you are really interesting in it , you will know it yourself.
Usually you need a lot of time and a lot of papers for visa. And at Denmark you can marry even with a tourist visa.
and no, not at all interested in a marry-quicky, I don't think I'll ever get that desperate or stupid.
Mind you, if Interpol finds me and I can save my neck by marrying Ann Ybody..... :))
But the bottom line here must be that being Muslim does have its advantages then ?
