Of course I jumped over to take a look at her bio 1st... Gentleman, I believe I have just read the perfect woman's bio!!!! Here is the exact text; Limited time offer! New & Improved Girlfriend Version 10 is now available! She proudly stands at 5’5" tall. She has blonde hair & blue eyes (other models are not currently available). She has been crafted with love from the finest materials but is not high maintenance. She is a great addition to a night on the town or to a quiet evening at home. The tough reality is that a Russian woman with children in her mid 40s is not likely to get much attention, now matter how bright or good-looking she is. Not just the slang. All the syntax is correct & US english is sloppy & confusing in it's structure. Grammar is as good or better than mine. It is not at all unusual for a woman to list on multiple dating sites, nothing wrong with that, but the small discrepancy in age is unexpected - though again, not necessarily of any importance. The US English is excellent, but that doesn't make me suspicious. To start, how many Americans want to make a female scam profile appearing to be from Russia? And make the fictitious lady in her 40s? Think about it. Although most in the FSU can't converse at all in English, I have met at least 8 women in Russia and Ukraine who speak English better than the average American does -- some nearly perfect. (Although one of the best would say, "wait me here," instead of "wait for me here.") Three of them worked as English teachers, and I think the rest have lived at least a few months in the US. So it is not implausible that this lady either knows US English deeply, or has someone in her circle of friends who was able to polish the text for her. Again, I've met numerous people in the FSU who know people (relatives or friends) in the US, so the lady in question might have gotten language help by email. Now, read her text again very attentively. Where she wrote, "and part of the program responsible for ... was erased," would you have worded it that way? I think that most native English speakers would say, "and THE part of the program responsible for ... was erased." Also, "I am looking for a man who knows how to treat real woman," have you ever in your life heard a native English speaker make this construction? We would say, "who knows how to treat A real woman." Russian doesn't have articles (the, a, some), and learning to use them is terribly difficult. It's like me learning to use verb aspect correctly in Russian: even if I keep studying for 5 more years, I am sure I will still be making mistakes, because this really has no equivalent in English. More tell-tale than that, apart from these tiny slips, the grammar is more perfect, and the choice of words more bookish, than is usual from an American writing something tongue-in-cheek. I think this woman took a good deal of time to construct a profile and message that would appeal to the 'smarter than average' bear. If I was not already engaged to the first scam artist I spent time with I would certainly consider investigating this person. If not just for the novelty of it, but because it is quite possible this woman has been screwed around with before... And maybe she finally said to herself, "Self, let's find out if there is a serious man who can understand a woman with a sense of humor and intellect." Could be the real deal. Do not try to over analyze the grammer, syntax whatever... analyze the fact that some lady had the balls to type such a thing. And I will say this. The lady I am with now typed something that was way out of the norm compared to 99 percent of what ladies post in profiles. Most profiles I see look like they were dashed off quickly, with a lot more attention to the photos, than to writing things that help a man to understand who she is and what she is looking for. FSU women seeking a husband from the West can do themselves a real favor by writing their profiles with care, and making a real advert for their personality, like the bright (and really cute) woman who inspired this thread. I have looked at a god-awful number of profiles since I started my search (a couple thousand?), and maybe one in 50 says something that stands out for me. Two that delighted: Her description of the man she was looking for, "hybrid of vibrator and bankomat," bankomat being their term for ATM. Now that's honesty! Another wrote tersely of herself that she needed a husband for the crisis (meaning the financial meltdown), and never has a headache. Where I received her letter was ar MyCuteOnly, another unrestricted correspondence for member - site. They only show the age in years - no birth date & her bio there is only 1 1/2 weeks old & her birthday is only 2 months away.They keep overhead low & the ladies only have 2 photos. The 1st 2 you saw. The other 2 at the site you gave only confirm my impression of socio-economic status "Only those wearing Rolex need apply". That's a little harsh without meeting her, but... I agree, it's just like a resume` for that dream job. If you want your to make someone sit up & take notice, better be clever enough to hook them in the 1st 2-3 lines & then hold it until the end. Bio says she's an engineer. She's clever enough to craft her bio to shoot for the cream of the crop. You have to expect that from all the numbers of men, there are a few mid to older age professional men searching the sites, having no desire for the singles US bar scenes etc.... Judging by her choice in wardrobe, posing, location...she's shooting for that small percentage. Bright enough to succeed too. I scan looking for the bio that stands out. Someone who put some thought & effort into what they are saying. Not this clever but if I see; 'I more interested in his Inner World", one more time In my bio I put; 'Don't we all say the same things over & over again; loyal, honest, respect..so OK, let's accept we don't want cheating, lying or abuse... go from there.' Tell me something original!!! I saw a ladies bio that said; loving relationship where sex is never withheld. ie.. no headaches! :)' Definitely got my attention, but she was only 24 & I had to wipe out all the images forming in my mind. :(( durak Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 12/13/2009 5:19:51 AM   bgpa, my thinking is that you have a good chance to strike up a relationship with this woman. A pretty 20-something without children will get tons of attention, and (if she is really looking for someone at all) can get into a shopping mentality, wanting to hold out for the richest/handsomest/youngest package she can find. A mid-40s gal like Larisa will be more focused and serious. It is possible that both of her children are adults living on their own, but if she has a child (or two) still dependent on her, then probably she gets little attention on the dating sites. Don't worry about her photo with the fancy background. I guess you haven't been "in country" yet -- most people there live very humbly, especially compared to Americans. Women there love to have their picture taken in luxurious settings: when they visit a fancy restaurant, hotel, resort, theater, palace, etc., they often want a picture. Probably this is in part related to how small and simple their homes usually are. So I wouldn't read into this, that she is looking for guy with a luxury lifestyle. It seems to me, that the women who aren't gold-diggers (and the gold-diggers aren't hard to detect) usually just want a man to earn enough to provide ordinary needs and a little travel, they aren't looking for luxury. By the way, in taking a second look at her photos (inspired by your Rolex comment), I noticed that she posted a picture of her standing... in front of a restaurant in southern California (it's wild what you can look up using google)! That she has been to America may help explain her good usage of American-style English. I hope you will let us know how your correspondence goes! Whether our past experiences have been a reflection of our own misgivings, less than reasonable actions or delusions, the fact remains that for one reason or another we are now seeking to find a woman other than the one (many) who has skewed our thinking process. That being said, I have chosen to look for a woman who I believe may be reasonably shielded from the trappings of western society. It could be there is such a woman, could be just a ruse. I am taking my chances. So to have let a woman go who seemed to be all that and a bag of chips, well, we do what we do or rather play the hand dealt us. Of course, every item in a profile can be a fabrication. Anyone know of a case where a woman pretended to have visited the US when she had not? What would her motivation be? If it were important to her to give this impression, why wouldn't she choose a more obvious background (say, the Capitol Building in DC), or mention it in the text of her profile? Traveling for their jobs, visiting friends, visiting relatives. One was married for a short time to a US citizen from the FSU. Certainly such visas are rare, but I am surprised how often I see profiles where the woman says she has been to the USA, or doesn't say this but has a photo or two taken in the US. My simple explanation is that women who have visited America, are more likely than most to put up a dating profile -- they are 'over-represented' compared to the overall population. This is not surprising -- such women are more likely to have good English, be interested in travel, and to be willing to live in a foreign country. bgpa Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 12/15/2009 12:13:23 AM   I thought the bio was unique & a real crack up to read. I don't think I'll see another one quite like it. It was so unique & very cleverly put together by SOMEBODY I thought you guys might be amused. I vaguely noticed the grammar & flawless syntax but didn't lay up that night worrying about it. I just thought the freaking bio was an eye stopper & thought someone here would get a good yuk-yuk out of it. Didn't even see the restaurant, Hotel California or whatever until after Durak was smart enough to google the bio & the other photos came to light. Never been to the state myself so I wouldn't know a California restaurant from 1 in Oklahoma. Just thought the freaking bio was funny! Personally I copied & pasted it & considering putting in my "Looking For" section. Now any lady that responded to THAT might be interesting!!! Funny thing is I still haven't received an answer to the letter I sent her. Didn't really matter all that much. But the lady has been back & visited my profile 4 times since then. Strange.
