I was reading the posts and noticed one poster said they used an IP Trace to determine if the girl was actually in the location stated. I just started emailing with a girl who is supposedly in Kherson. When i trace the ip i got once and kiev 4 times. My question is how accurate is this ip trace to Ukraine. Is she definately not where she says she is? Or is it possible the trace does not make it all the way back and pics up one of the server locations along the way. We've only exchanged a few emails and there has not been any canned answers or big red flags. Like emails always comeing a 2am - 3am in the morning her time. Another time she said she was late in responding because she was at her grandmas making jam for the holidays. Now as sweet as that sounds my initial instinct is to call BS.
Anyway does anyone have experience IP tracing and know how accurate it is?
There was a time when I was posting on this forum from a regional city in Ukraine, I asked of admin to IP track me and they tracked me to being in Kiev, where I was not!
Suggest using more than one IP tracker and check the actual IP addresses, are they very similar or very different.
most internet traffic in kherson goes through state owned ukrtelecom. i would think that the ip address should say kherson. i think some people get internet through some kind of satellite hookup, if thats the case, i'm not sure.
does she have a landline telephone number, even a mobile telephone number might tell you what area she lives in.
by the way,
she might be living in kiev. it doesn't mean she is not interested in you. from my experience in dating in this culture, this wouldn't even be considered a lie. :)
The times you may receive an E-mail can be misleading. The E-mail may have been sent by the lady and the agency of even the internet provider may have cause a delay. I once was writing to my lady and received a letter from her at 3:00 A.M. her time. I sent my letter and received an immediate response. It was a serious mistake by the interpreter. The first letter was real and the response was an attempt to answer an unimportant question. The interpreter does business in America and thought it would not matter. I did not mind if the interpreter answered my letter, if she identified herself. It caused a trip to be cancelled and some expectations to be defined. I have at times left side letters to the interpreter in letters to ladies. The interpreter was young and stepped in it rather foolishly a few times. Still, we were able to make our communications private and our own. She now has her own E-mail as well as the one set up by her interpreter. You must all know that women are similar everywhere. What a man sees a meddling can, in a woman's view, be assisting. Until you have private communications with your lady of interest, you will not know what is real or even malicious. The interpreter is clearly sorry for standing between us, it stalled our plans to meet for 4 months and nearly ended all chances for a meeting. We worked through it and our meeting was the true beginning. The duplicity of the agencies is gone by our unfettered communication
Thanks for all responses. It looks the ip tracers to Ukraine might not be accurate to a city. It did come up as ukrtelecom as gecko said it would. The first tracer that comes up on a google search said the ip was from Chernivtsi and the next 3 i used said it was Kiev. The other thing i thought was strange is that she added me to her MSN Messenger account but i've never seen her on line. The one time she said, "I added u on msn but I dont use internet now. I'm busy with my home stuff it'll holidays soon so I need to do many things at home. we can chat later." Then proceed to respond to 4 emails and in two of them she attached multiple pics but yet didn't have time to be on internet. Anyway, i guess time will tell.
IP address is basically the address of the computer, or the server the email account uses. (which is just a computer anyway).
RB example of his girl in Kerch having an IP address in Kiev is perfectly normal.
In my limited knowledge of these things I'd say that acomputer with a Kiev IP was set-up in Kiev and sent out to a shop or distributer...could end up anywhere.
It's possible for emails to show as each having come from a different computer. The obvious answer to this would be internet cafe.
I'd be more concerned about her being reluctant to chat online.
I'm sure there is a way of finding out when an IP address was last in use. Not much good to you if it's an internet cafe comp, but if the same IP address is on the emails then she's got her own.
To much skullduggery this whole thing.
I think if you set yourself up as someone who is willing to hang around waiting you'll be treated as such.

Not so. I beleive its to do with what internet service provider you use. If they are based in Kiev then your IP address will probably show you are in Kiev depending on their setup. But its got nothing to do with where the PC was set up as an ip address is dynamically assigned by the ISP when you connect to the internet (in most cases) so is not always the same.
ben's answer is the most accurate...for a good overview of ip structure and the various aspects of tracing it, this link has some interesting info for those who wish to know what they are doing with the ip trace programs, of which there are several good ones, "visual IP trace 5.0a" was the last one I tried using, the results being mixed in usefulness...
Hi,
You can trace the location of an Ip address using the site .You can also find the Country,Latitude,Longitude and ISP of that IP.I tried,They provide me accurate Results. So If you wish you can try this site......
Ive also noticed that too. In Kherson or Kiev on local broadband I can track back my assigned ip pretty accurately but on wireless connections its a crap shoot as its showed several different locations. Of course I also use secure proxies quite often which can make me appear just about anywhere I want to be. If using a program such as gotomypc remotely accessing home computer the ip can show my home computer's address in USA as well.
I wont meet anyone I havent had a video chat with unless I dont care if I waste a few hours or 50 bucks as I have met some really nice ladies "blindly" Of course I have a pretty steady girl now for a while so its more for fun and doesnt everyone want a plan B just in case?lol
Ip tracking can be difficult depending on if it uses the cellular network or broadband cable. One of my phones if I use it for a hotspot comes up as New York and my WI FI at the house comes up as being in my city.
