This is my first post to this forum and I am hoping someone can illuminate how the "Russian-brides-club" internet site works, as I am currently a member and have some questions (which I probably can't pose to the webmaster).
Specifically, I have 2 questions.
1. How is the price of a letter to a lady determined?
Is it set by the lady, her representative marriage agency, the russian-brides-club website, or calculated by computer according to the rating she is given by members?
2. What is the 'turnaround' like? I.e. A letter I wrote on Saturday was opened by either the lady or the marriage agency on monday morning, and I received a reply to the letter by 10.30am monday morning (all ukrainian times). This strikes me as too fast becuase I would expect the 'turnaround' to play out as such;
Agency opens letter monday morning, informs lady. lady goes to agency during lunch hour or is emailed the translation. lady reads and responds by the end of the day, agency posts repsonse to me at end of day or tuesday morning.
I should say that I think the russian-brides-club is fairly legitimate as I have made 2 complaints, both of which were answered promptly, a refund was given on one complaint, and a valid explanation was given to the other. Both were the outcomes I was looking for.
So, if anyone has knowledge of how the mechanics of this industry works, i would be most appreciative.
Two days ago I was searching for information on the city where my fiance lives. There was a link that came in the search because one time I just typed in the name of the city. It was a russian bride site. russian brides club. Being curious I wanted to see what kind of ladies from there would be like. Well there she was! The love of my life still on a dating site I knew nothing about. Poor girl spent over three hours searching for it and lost sleep over it. Then I decided to try an extensive search for her. Turns out she was on two sites. Little whore! -- It turns out that this russian bride site pirated all of her information from her posting on elenas models. I know this to be a fact! How do I know? Because we were kidding around early in our correspondace and she changed her information as a joke to have fun with me. It is this exact information that shows up on the russian brides club. It is a clear copy of everything. Unless elenas models sold it to them. One or the other is crooked. If what was 'posted' in this 'profile' was real or her original information I would not have contacted her. I found her again on a different site. Again this is an exact copy of the profile from elnas models site. It is possible the first one was stolen or sold from a very famous scam agency that she originally signed up for but removed herself from after she researched it. She is appalled and is going to go after them. But we know how there is no law in russia to enforce this kind of crap.
Stevie,
There is no such thing as a fairly legitimate agency.
You can complain about the letters on a scam site called 1st. International Marriage Network ( A HUGE scam letter writing site) and they will refund your money....
Why?
Because they want to keep you online for longer. The site is full of scammers and other types of filth.
The replies from your letter are, without any doubt, from the interpreter. They are being paid on a commission per letter from the agency people. The interpreter pays the woman commission, NOT the agency people. This is how the agency people can look you in the eye and say they don't pay the women to correspond to you.
I know this because an English speaking guide in Nikolalev ( that has nothing to do with scam agencies) told me she was approached by an agency to write love letters to men. 50 letters per day on a commission rate.
She told me more about how the agencies work.
It's fucken scary.
No specific information on the site you're asking about. However, I think many sites operate in a similar way.
What I can tell you about is the dreaded "Globaladies" They are based in the USA. They employ local agencies throughout Ukraine and Russia. These agencies are generally just 1 and 2 roomed offices (the word agency conjures up images of something grander for me) "Globaladies" pays a commission to every agency. A guy pays "Globaladies" to write to a girl, he pays again if she replies, he pays again to reply to her and so it goes. Whatever agency that girl is registered with in Ukraine or Russia, the agency will get paid a commission from "Globaladies" for every letter she writes. It is known that many of these agencies pay $1 to a girl for every letter she writes to a guy, many "loves of our lives" on these sites are writing to us 5 times a week, and almost certainly writing to another 4 guys 5 times a week = $25 a week to the girl, just for writing letters to foreign men, nice income. And many of these girls will actually meet the guy when he goes to her country, why wouldn't she, he'll bring her a gift, wine & dine her, she is, after all, "The Love of His Life" because they've been writing to each other for the past 3 months and know everything about each other, right ? !
Some girls turn cold on the guy either just before he's about to arrive in her country to meet her, or, when he actually does arrive and they meet. Other girls are better actresses and can play out the whole role without slipping.
Some agency staff reply to a guy directly, posing as the girl, keeping up the communication, and saving themselves the $1 per letter they'd pay to a real girl for writing to you.
Not every girl on such sites engages in this practice, of course, but, it sure is a tempting way to earn an income, and possibly still meet the man of your dreams.
I joined "Globaladies" in 2007, when I first decided I wanted to look for my hopeful partner in Ukraine, I discovered this Forum a few weeks later.
Within hours of joining "Globaladies' I was being flooded with messages from super models, all of which were marriage minded, didn't smoke, enjoyed very much the nature, cooking, disco's only occasionally, making handicrafts, didn't have a boyfriend or husband, hated Ukrainian men and their habits etc etc. The bombardment continued everyday that I was a member (about 3 months)
I've learnt much in the 2.5 years that have passed !
the agency's just call the girl read the letter and she replies over the phone. the pay per letter thing is just a way to get money from you, try some of the free sites.
Always try to ask a minimum of 2 questions in each of the early letters to establish if your letters are actually being read before being replied to and/or if the return letters may be 'canned' whereas they are previously written and transmitted to umpteen guys.
This site falls under the same ownership of Natasha club and is formatted the same way and has the same members. Be your own judge and the knowlege base on Natasha club says scam site full of scams and gold diggers pro daters etc.
Just to add to your post, those letters that GL flood guys with:
When a lady signs up with a GL affiliate agency it is contracted/agreed by those parties that her initial intro letter is uploaded to the GL site and the lady authorises GL to use that letter as GL see fit.
All those letters that guys receive, and it's quite obvious because they arrive in batches, are not from the lady(s) but from the GL system, they are held on the system and mailshotted to guys to persude guys to part with their $$$ to respond to lady(s) that didn't send the letter in the first instance and probably have no interest in the guy in question.
I doubt that the girls get $1 a letter because the agencies don't get much more than that, generally speaking the agency gets about %20 of the translation fee from one of the big portals (like anastasia of global).
From reading the forums here I came to the conclusion that even honest websites may have fraudsters on them and decided that I will judge on a per person/letter basis. I don't worry about supermodels or anyone 6 years or more younger than myself.
Also I have a Ukrainian and Belorussian friend in my language class and have an insight into what they consider attractive in men. The Ukrainian friend has invited me to visit Odessa with her and her husband this summer, which i will do (I'm based in Germany), so one or two days visiting a lady in Ukraine won't kill me since I'll already be there.
Just on the cost of the letter, does anyone have an insight into how that works? Obviously hot chicks are $20, but who sets the price?
Exactly where am I defending agencies ?. Am just pointing out the basic economics of the situation - the end agencies don't get much per letter (max about $2) in the PPL setups so splitting the money 50/50 with girls is probably not very common. Girls being payed a small fee for use of their photos is a more likely scenario.
Well what I actually observed, I witnessed, going on within a particular agency in Zaporozhye was that the only time the lady(s) would be present in the agency would be during an initial interview whereas some personal information, enough for her profile and exchanging of letters, was collated, thereafter it would be agency staff falsifying ladies letters, and the only financial incentive that the ladies were offered, and the ladies liked this, was that the agency would entice the guys to travel and, once there, the ladies could scam the guys for the evenings out and the expensive gifts etc.
But, per letter, the agency only received $2.50, per exchange of letters $5, but the agency owner is a greedy and lying bitch thus, against Global Ladies, perhaps Army of Brides also, affiliate rules she's also scamming guys for overpriced apartments, airport transfers, interpreters, you name it and she'll scam it.
That agency affiliates for Global Ladies and Army of Brides, to name but two, there is at least one other affilate relationship also, so any guys writing to ladies in Zaporozhye via any of these sites then be warned, it could be a very expensive and time wasting trip!
