Hi guys. I just want to share a great experience with you that I have had with a Moldovan marriage agency in Chisinau.
I came in contact with this agency trough a girl I had been writing to for some weeks and wanted to meet. At first I was really a little skeptical, letting someone else help me finding the right girl for me. Something I was sure I was best able to do myself.
I traveled to Chisinau first time in November 2009, and planned to stay for 4 days. The girl I came to meet was not what I expected and not what I was looking for, but just like had arranged everything for me: airport pick up, translation, booking of a really nice apartment, now they also introduced me to several other ladies.
I returned to Chisinau in December 2009 and had even more help from the girls in Svetlana’s agency this time.
I know they run a business, but I feel really welcome and more like a friend, every time I visit them. Their prices are very reasonable and you don’t have to worry about anything else than meeting the right lady when you let them arrange your stay in Chisinau. They introduced me to an impressive crowd of beautiful girls in very short time, and among the many I found my second half.
I tried to stay in Chisinau and the meeting I arranged myself failed. I was very happy I had a phone number to call and good friends in this agency to help me correct the mistake of thinking I could do this myself.
So if any of you out there is interested in meeting serious ladies and travel to Moldova I can only recommend that you contact this agency, and trust them to help you before you go there.
The director of the agency, Svetlana, has been in this business for 10 years.. You can trust her experience! You can google the agency starsvet if you are interested or if you have any questions about my experiences, with my dating in Moldova you are welcome to contact me!
About me:
Name: Ole Søndergaard
Country: Denmark
Age: 41 years
No advertise! I just want to help other men, and share the experiences I got during my last 3 year search. Just wish someone had showed me some help a long time ago!
One time I took a Taxi from Chisinau city to the airport and payed almost twice what this agency charge for an airport pick up.
I'll tell you you will spent more money in your privare search than you will ever spent in the agency at the same time.
SirDaniel,
Thanks for not being upset with me and understanding the humor in my posts. You know sometimes it is so obvious when the scammers and agency people post here, I just can't keep quiet... and I need to call a spade a spade. BTW, I'm in Ukraine every three months or so and perhaps sometime we can meet up, I enjoy socializing with new acquaintances.
well, i'd like to share my "internet dating" experiece as well.
i've been to ukraine last summer... to be fair, i did not like my trip -most of the girls i was writing too disappeared as soon as i tried to contact them, but two other finally dared to meet me :)) they were nice but not more-i expected something more impressive i guess... nevertheless i didn't give up searching and now i am thinking about visitign moldova in may.
ole, you have so good impressions about that agency - you think moldova is better than ukraine? is there any difference between moldovan and ukrainian girls? i want to know more about that agency and maybe i could contact them somehow ... you know, it is no good to apply the same yardstick to everybody- i am not that sceptic as mini cooper yet, he he...
Nothing against you shooter but agencies setting up girls while you are there is last on my plan a,b,c,d list. You didn't say what it cost but they make money from each into and most girls are just daters...if they like you they will see you again but usually doesn't go any further.
I had much better luck/fun hanging around with my friend and having his wife do the talking(intoducing) while at restaurant/bars or anywhere else.
Anybody realize that aerosvit now has flights to chisinau from kiev? Not cheap but less hassle getting into and out of country.
And it's what I advise other guys to think about doing, and think about the money they spend using the "dating" sites, just come here, make friends in your own right, you'll soon see your social life begin to build !
Too bad Daniel you are where I have not been or planning to be. Your city is not known as a place to go/visit. More like Melitopol or Vinnytsya. I have met several guys from here in Kiev and a couple more timing was not right. Kiev is too big for meeting girls....I prefer smaller like odessa and kharkov and really liked the size of chisinau(getting around on your own).
I have professed many times here, best is to immerse yourself but that is not always possible, so next best is to know people in area you are to concentrate on.
Hallo, guys. I'm prompted by the reaction of Mini Cooper to the post of Ole Søndergaard (shooter) and, maybe, a few words about my personal experience might be of some interest and help for somebody.
More than three years ago I entered membership at www.fiance.com and started to communicate with just one woman, Olga, living in Kishinev. After six months of an intense exchange of letters, by June 2007 I eventually went to Kishinev to meet her. The meet was successful and I had no need to look around for possible better alternatives, as I realized that simply I had found the woman I was looking for since decades. I understand that I was fortunate, as I see from the posts that many men still are in search, after failures and disappointments; concerning this aspect I have no suggestions to give to anybody, as each of us has to find his personal path to happiness by himself.
Instead, here's how my arrival and stay in Kishinev worked. First, surely most of you guys already know that, with few exceptions, all women posting their profile at www.fiance.com do it through local marriage agencies, mostly because they don't have a PC with an internet connection and/or have the need of translation of letters. So, shortly before our first meet, Olga suggested me to contact her agency for the organization. The agency was the one that Ole Søndergaard is "advertising", I mean the one directed by Svetlana and her husband Alexander. Well, the meet at Kishinev airport, the transfer to the apartment in the center of the city, together with the presence of Svetlana's daughter Aliona acting as the interpreter, all was simply great! Ok, apart the first day, I and Olga did not need anymore the interpreter, as our English was more than sufficient for our communication. I remained in Kishinev for ten days and the agency organized for us three unforgettable trips through the country. Of course I payed. But I found that the amount of money I had to pay was totally reasonable and absolutely worthy what I got in return.
Unfortunately I and Olga did not succeed yet to stably live together, but this is simply a matter of issues connected with our respective lives. Up today, I went to Kishinev ten times to meet Olga and, in addition, we had three wonderful vacations outside Moldova. Each time I asked, and still ask, to Svetlana to organize everything: finding the apartment, the transfer from and to the airport, as well as delivering of presents when some special day arrives and I cannot go to Kishinev. By now, every times I go to Kishinev I feel myself at home when, together with Olga, I go to visit Svetlana, Alexander and the staff at the agency.
So, Mini Cooper, I know that the world of dating through the web is infested by scammers and some agencies only work for money and deliver poor services. It is so important that persons who went through some unpleasant experience share it with others. But I estimate equally important and helpful that persons who, instead, had a nice experience do the same! I also think that a support is due to those agencies where honest professionals perform a not easy job. To conclude, I definitely recommend Svetlana's agency if you are planning to meet your woman in Kishinev. They have also a website:

With only one "shortcoming": it is completely in Russian!
One last comment. Of course, according to our ages requirements can be quite different. As to me, I passed since long the age in which I can enter no matter which country and organize my stay and contacts on the basis of "do it yourself". I understand that, for those of you much younger than me, acting on that basis may be challenging; however, bear in mind that for several reasons Moldova is not yet the best place for such practice, which can turn out to be quite expensive, not only in term of money, if you fail to meet the right persons!
Hey bowhunter....not likely to be in odessa in july, maybe in april, not sure yet. After sometime
looking in FSU for a girl.....eventually your attention turns in a different direction. Nothing is set in stone however.
For shooter and semiartin.....you guys never mentioned the prices you paid for agency help. I would gather the prices are much higher than if you had made the arrrangements. I have never used the agency help in my plans, only used them for first intro's or first meeting interpreters. I met an english guy through sites learning about moldova( married and lives there) that took care of any issue I had....in return I bought him a beer.

I looked at your site...if you hit the 'star galaxy' pic you get to see girls profiles. What I noticed it is designed very similar to natashaclub/first international site.
Actually I never payed starsvet any money for any service! I rented apartment in center of Chisinau with 2 bedrooms kitchen, barhroom and livingroom with TV, DVD, and highspeed internet connection (no computer, but I brought my on laptop) price for this apartment was 55 Euro/night. Airport pickup with agency car was 20 Euro.
One time I arranged a trip to Chisinau to meet a girl not from this agency and rented a private apartment. It was fine too, but only one bedroom, smaller kitchen and no internet. For this apartment I paid 50 Euro, and traditional taxi to Chisinau center was 480 Lei (28 Euro). This girl was did not have time for me (or did not like me) so I was left alone in Chisinau! But I called Inga from starsvet and she helped me and introduced me to 2 ladys without any charge!! (One of those ladys is now my girlfriend). So I really dont feel I pay anything to this agency for getting in contact with the girls! Last week I asked Svetlane to send my girlfriend a red orchid for my girlfriend for Valentineday. She bought the most beautiful Orchid with a valentinecard and delivered it personaly on Vanentineday. In the afternoon of February 14th. I recieved a e-mail with 9 pictures of my girlfriend and the Orchid. Charge of this service was 33 Euro. Same price as an Orchid like this one cost in Denmark and half the price of a flower with delivery cost in Denmark.
So guys this agency dont try to rip you off!!!!!!!!!
Hey shooter, as long as you feel you got your money's worth good for you. You did get a comprable price for your apt from agency but I paid roughly $12usd for taxi rides to and from airport. At that time the lei was 11-1 to USD.
Nice you got free of charge for second into's but you are good advertising for that agency. They are in business to make money....there is a reason behind any freebie's. If one guy from this forum uses that website/agency( paid customer)then those freebie's are worth their price...you didn't pay but somebody did. I do think you are the exception than the norm.
As for flowers, I can get a dozen(11)sent for $45 including delivery....prices are very competative in moldova.
As far as euros being used mostly in moldova.....one time I rented an apt for $60 euros, about $87usd at the time, it was 3 months till my trip, as the days went buy the price actually was going up, by the time of my trip the price was $102 per night....still was only $60 euros........
I have a friend in copenhagen that I met while in chisinau, he is good friends with my friend. Really nice guy, goes several times a year.......not for marriage but to have fun.
Well... Beemer! I guess your experiences with prices in Chisinau aren’t the same as mine!! Still if you calculate the normal agency fee and subtract it from the services this agency provide, I still consider it very reasonable. (Maybe you confuse USD and Euros a little??)
And your friend's friend from Copenhagen sound like a really "Standup guy"! Please don't compare me with his type! I don’t travel to Chisinau for fun, but to find a serious wife. So I think your friend have no business in an agency like starsvet.
Shooter, I didn't mean to infer you were in moldova with same intentions as danish guy I met, just was pointing out you both were from same country!!!
First time I was in moldova rate of euros to usd was ~1.7-1 so that $60euro apt was $102 usd.
I paid much with lei and as I said exchange rate was 11-1, so the taxi rates were 110-120lei
from airport.
As I said before, if you felt you got value, good for you.
Did you ever go in mid Oct for celebrations?
From your posts, I believe you've spent a lot of time in Odessa. How does Chisinau compare in your experience? How would you compare the women, the mentality, the lifestyle, the economic conditions/standard of living, etc...?
I've been thinking about taking a trip there, so any info is appreciated. I was thinking more about tourism than to use an agency, but Shooter's experiennces sound pretty good, so maybe I'd consider that agency.
Thanks. If you've written about Chisinau in another thread I didn't see it, sorry.
