Hi guys, I just want to inform you about the way I'm going to find a real Ukrainian woman. In a month I'm moving to Nikolaev to start an English school there. My investments and my Ukrainian partners' experience will allow us to create a high quality English teaching institution that will be very popular. In some months we'll penetrate the market with highly qualified English teachers both local and native English speaking, perfect premises, classes, educational package, advertisement, promotion. And in September I'm going to have a prosperous business there, many friends, understanding of local people and traditions and the possibility of personal contact with real and sincere women that are not fakes and don't deal with agencies. Let's see what I have. I'm making money instead of spending and I have all the opportunities and advantages of local men meeting local women. And when I find my woman she'll have an American with Ukrainian business and all the possibilities to travel to Ukraine from US and from US to Ukraine any time because the business will give such an opportunity. Isn't that amazing?
Hey guys be informed if you want to have an English teaching business in Nikolaev you are not alone. Better start another business and we'll be friends not rivals.
Take care
No Offense go.ru but you really think it will be that easy to land in Nikolaev and just open up shop there. I know several others who thought the same way. One is still there now an American who married a local there and has a very successful school but he is not breaking any type of earnings records. They are profitable but it is with quantity of students who can't afford much per lesson. They have also broke into the business sector teaching business english now quite an accomplishment and it took 2 years to gather enough good will to gain these corporate clients.
Working 6 to 7 days a week and teaching 10 hour days. Not exactly the lifestyle you are thinking you might have with what you described above. The scams of the agencies will also keep clients away from you and your business.
I wish you success however. Maybe I am wrong but I have seen the operations and it is much more difficult than you describe above.

You are right, buddy... Being a teacher in Ukraine does not mean a big sum, otherwise it would not be Ukraine. Even doctors or lawyers do not make huge money; that's why some of us are here, in US, lol...
As for a new approach to improve international dating, I like this idea and highly recommend... The more you live there, the more you date there...lol...
I agree that living and having business in Ukraine can put you in a much better position, to search for romance there.
I wonder, why Nikolaev, the hotbed of tourism? Have you considered other cities and towns of Ukraine? Or investigated, which places are most underserved by English-language schools? None of my business, of course - only curious.
Thanks guys. I've chosen Nikolaev as it is the most comfortable city in Ukraine for me. Women are just gorgeous. And it's a rather big place with population of over 500.000 people and everything is close to the centre. People are friendly, food is delicious, transportation and accommodation is cheap I know there are some English schools there and I know about BillGreen with his school. But I haven't heard about a real private English teaching Institution that can be a Brand with certified English teachers (I mean native English speaking teachers not just those who pretend to be teachers just because the were born in an English speaking country but know nothing about their language, grammar and rules (that what I was told about BillGreen). And also my choice isn't spontaneous. I had researched the market before I decided to start this. Hey 100.000 potential clients!!! I've worked out the business-plan with my Nikolaev partners. Investing $15.000 I will have Nikolaev English teaching market mine.
A very close friend of mine was taught (supposed) English by an American English teacher and, nothing personal but, this person's (supposed) English is totally phucked up, it's a mix of English and American English, calling a tap a faucet, the bonnet of a car a hood, the boot a trunk yet the bumpers of a car are bumpers rather than fenders.
I find it interesting that someone would invest so much with the sole purpose of meeting a woman from Ukraine. Many discussions of how much one should invest in a search for a good partner have come up. Yet you come on here spouting your business plan etc. That is a lot of trouble to go through just to meet a woman from another country. If you put that much time and consideration into meeting a decent woman from your own country I think that you would be able to find someone. I assume this is your five year plan? Because to set up shop, gain clients and then use your client base as a means to stalk out a woman sounds ridiculous. Many are commenting on the business end of it -- whether it will be successful, what others have done and the 'competition'. Yet no-one has asked why you would go through so much trouble and come on this forum spouting your plans of finding a Ukrainian woman. If I had the means of setting up a business and investing sums of money...
I think I will ask the US government for a grant to study this. A psychological study to find out why men would invest huge sums of money just on the hopes that they meet a "model" from Ukraine who will be their soul mate, life partner and best friend. Such things cannot be bought. They (models) can be rented - just ask Tiger Woods.
Otherwise it seems to me you are an older man with cash to blow hoping to find a younger lady to pad your ego. And you spout your dreams and plans on succeeding in this. If I were you, I would keep quiet about it and just go do it. Then when you finally meet and marry Miss Ukraine you can share your success story. Don't forget to keep a running total of how much money you spend. And if you are successful you can start an agency for English speaking women in Ukraine. A spin off business which no doubt is also in your plan. It would be in mine.
i had the same idea a year ago and was flamed for it, so, go.ru, if you are sincere, it think its the best idea for meeting people.
two things conern me.
are you seriously thinking of giving a ukranian $15,000 to get the company up and running? why?
do be stupid like the imf.
in 2004 it was real easy for me to get a 5 yr business visa. is it still easy to get a business visa? i am thinking things got tougher.
do you really think it will be so easy to get women visas to usa because of your little business in nikolaev. now that is really naive...yeah. you must be winding us up.
Well if one has a viable business plan then it is normally corporate policy not to divulge it, not to give others or the competition the same or similar idea.
But I do laugh at the posts, go.ru talks of the perfect premises, well those won't be in Ukraine then :) , and he talks of such a 'high class' package, native English speaking teachers, perfect premises, advertising, promotions etc. but I'm just curious how the single ladies of Nikolaev are going to be able to afford a price that needs to include budgeting for premises, native English teachers and advertising etc.
What's the bet he'll be back here in a month or so, by stealth, advertinsing his, oh so corporate, business. :)
I remember arriving at the Zaporozhye airport to go to Kiev, we were greeted by six dogs at the parking lot. A few of them were German Shepherds. Obviously malnourished, their ribs were sticking out. I figured they were let go by their owners who no longer can afford to keep them. Parks around Yalta had a few stray dogs.
Hey, go.ru, I'm running an English school in Nokolaev together with my American partner. We've been doing this business since last March so I know pretty much about our competitives and haven't heard anything about a school with an American owner and $15000 investments. Has anything gone wrong? Or perhaps you changed your mind.
By the way guys, I'm looking for native-speaking English teachers. If you want to spend some months or even a year in Nikolaev, doing some classes and having good friends and honest guides here, feel free to write me. I think teaching is a very nice way to understand the culture and personalities of people among who you want to find a wife.
I think gecko is right! He is just winding us up!! Look at the way he wrote 15 thousand???? 15.000 and not 15,000 !!
I don't think I like this concept either!! Sure,,, sending a girl to learn English is a good idea!! But,,, to send her,,, to a bunch of guys who are also looking for their own girl???? I don't think so!!!
In some areas of the world, commas are replaced by periods on price displays, writing, etc.
My question to you that live in those areas: what is the display on calculators and cash registers? I have been curious about this for some time and would like to know.
As an engineer and general math nerd, I own several calcuators but they all display commas as divisions in large numbers but that could be due a regional preference sent to the US and Canada.
Hi, Batman! I think you got the point I was trying to make,,,, In some areas of the world!!?? I wasn't thinking about calculators, it was more about menus and price tags!! He is trying to pass himself off as an American,,,,, I don't think he is!!! This could all be just a regular scam,,, nothing new to the Ukraine!!
About calculators;,, I have three of them within reach. One has the comma on top of the numbers, with a period after whole numbers or dollars! The other two, don't have anything marking thousands, just a period after whole numbers! If they have a period after, they never would use them for marking thousands.
As for cash registers,,, it's locked for the night and 200 yards away!!
Maybe this won't be rejected???????
Usually they don't put any commas or dots, they just put a space like this 10 000
And if we talk about Hrivnas and Kopeks we need to put a comma e.g. 10 Hrivna and 50 kopeks is 10,50
