Longer answer: Citizens of the Russian Federation and most of the former Soviet Republics are not very welcome in most of the world's countries with strong economies -- they must obtain a visa to enter, and often these visas are quite difficult to obtain. This seems to be motivated by worry that citizens of poor countries will illegally work, and overstay their visas.

Without a visa, Ukrainians can transit wealthy Singapore within a 96 hour time frame. It looks to me that all of the other visa-free countries for Ukrainian passport holders are pretty far down the standard-of-living scale.

Just take a look at the world maps, and compare with those on the Ukraine page. As Martin posted, no passport lets you in every country - but a Hungarian diplomatic passport supposedly comes closer than any other in the world today.
Durak....you listed one of my favorite sites....wikipedia......for visa and visa free countries.
This is better list..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_passports
The baltic states do have a different status than the rest of FSU countries.

Ma ldives is visa free............nice expe$ive trip!!!!!!
Beemer,
You suggested Maldives to me last year.
The resorts are not terrible as far as price goes but the plane fares are very expensive.
It looks like a great trip.
TD....yes...trip is expensive, airfare is always part of a trip expense.
A girl I was seeing from moldova wanted to vacation there, apparently her sister's rich BF took the sister there. It is preety secluded. I recently took a girl to egypt, which I thought was pretty nice(Sharm) with cairo and luxor sites to see along with a warm seaside year round....thopught it was better than turkey.
Northern Cyprus was, some years ago, don't know if it's still the same, another place they could go without a visa but, I think, only possible to fly there via Turkey (Istanbul, Antalya etc.) because, internationally, the Turkish occupation of N. Cyprus is illegal but it is said that the best beaches are in the north of Cyprus.
Is it an advantage or considered a necessary requirement that they take holidays abroad with their partner prior to marriage, or can they marry a foreigner in the Ukraine and then just obtain a visa if required and leave to start life in another country such as England or another EU country?
Holidays etc. is a personal choice, should a lady be telling you that it is required then you are being bullshitted.
Two people can marry wherever they like, you could bring her to UK on a settlement visa, often referred to as a fiancee visa, whereas you live together and need to marry within a 6 month time frame, if you don't marry within that time frame then she needs to leave UK or you need a bl00dy good reason why you have not married.
