Howdy guys I am going back to Sumy at the end of April. I have 2 lady's lined up and probably do a little work while I am there. I will be using Sumylove and report back on how well they do. I will be staying in an apartment owned by Polena agency and using one of her taxi drivers. I will also be attending the birthday party of a friend while there. Pert 2 is back to Kiev for some fun and do the tourist thing, funny I have been there 4-5 times and have never seen any of the tourist sites. In Kiev I will be trying a new place to rent an apartment to see how they do. I will of course keep you updated and post on easyukraine.com
seems flights have started to drop in price a little but I still cant find one under 900. normally the closer you get to the time you fly the lower the price so maybe next week prices will drop.
seems prices have just started to drop for the dates I am planning to travel, yesterday was the first day flights started coming in under 900. I think 888 was the going price as of Saturday. I will of course take a lot of pictures with my new camera and since I have a friend traveling with me this time should be a lot of fun. The two ladies I have been in contact with seem to be just what I am looking for but meeting them might tell a different story.
hey Bowhunter....won't be around ukraine in late april.......guess you did like sumy from your previous trips. From LA, you can get to kiev for $750...go figure, since you are much closer!!!
gecko....mamba is more of a social site and playing around, I've only found one girl that amounted to anything. First of all, girls are interested in guys close to their age and second, not many speak english and third, most of free sites contain girls with computers that got their knowledge from agencies on prying money/gifts from guys...only now they get 100% of cut.....smart girls, huh?
Hi beemer
I did get a flight for 780 last year but prices seem a little higher this year. by the way lost your number when my phone crashed wasn't worth a well you know I changed carriers also so shouldn't have a problem calling now.
Hey Bowhunter. You've been around and traveled in Ukraine. If you want to save money, take the bus to Sumy. Some of the bigger buses are comefortable and inexpensive. They leave from in front of Borispol. I've paid for taxis and rented automobiles, but you can't beat the price of a bus and they move right along. You will find that whatever the cost of the flight, you'll save more traveling like the natives.
Buy an unlocked quad band phone on Ebay and buy a SIM card at the airport MTS phone shop. You will be able to call Natalia if you run into any trouble and she can get you an apartment for about 60 dollars per night. There isn't much need for discussion on the bus except to pay. If you haven't traveled before, the taxi isn't a bad idea. You could have some standard communications printed on paper, but there is little to say, thee bus goes from the aiport and on to Sumy. Just be familiar with the spelling in Cyrilic too
I have a phone and 2 sim cards, the place I rent is 35 a night. the bus takes around 6 hours and since I normally arrive in the evening the buses don't run as often. the cab is normally 100 us for the convenience I normally just take a cab. I do have to say I prefer train but that's just me. for the return to Kiev for a few days I will probably take the train I think they have an express to Kiev more than once a day.
There are buses from Borispol to the train station (вокзал) right out front. The cost is just a few dollars and a 20 minute trip. A taxi is quite expensive. If you are going to take a train and use a taxi, might just as well use the Polena taxis to Sumy and skip the train. For those without an unlocked phone they are about 20 dollars on ebay with free shipping. Verizon and Sprint phones have been permanently locked and will not work.
there should be a bus window at the airport where you can schedule your trip.
i mispoke before, the mini-busses to sumy will be in front of the central train station, not the airport. they are easy to spot. they have a cardboard sign titled 'sumy' in their window. when the mini-bus fills up, it leaves. probably one leaves every hour.
Normally I take taxi when I go to Sumy and train when I travel from there. I have one of those cheap sci-phones seems to work good there about 100 us you can buy the mini version for around 50 on ebay. on my last trip there were some nice buses for the train station for 25 griv. they seemed to come every 15 minutes.
the flight is booked and I fly out in just over a week. I have a friend meeting me at the airport them we are off to Sumy should be a fun trip. I will try my hand at some video on this trip I hope it works.
