Hi Guys
Could anyone enlighten me as to the cost of living in Ukraine in comparison with the uk.I am proposing to spend up to 2 months in Rovno and would like an idea as to monthly living costs excluding accomodation costs. My lifestyle whilst there would not be extravagant but would like to live comfortably.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Even including your accommodation - its extremely low cost to live - even in Kiev.
But - out west its even cheaper. The tourist accommodations’ out there are pricy - they get a good amount of Western Euro people using them.
Food - clothing all way below UK or US or in our case NZ
Put it this way
We usually travel every summer to Kiev and stay 2 months - we have free accommodation, but even given the cost of our flights there and back it probably works out cheaper than staying home for 2 months trying to keep warm in these cold NZ houses and spending 500+ a week on food etc
Well you wont be getting much entertainment on that budget.
That’s about the minimum that the lowest paid Ukraine worker would exist on - and that would be with assist from family also.
I would think 1000$ per month would be more what I would be thinking as a min amount to take.
I agree with maxirat. If you will buy your food at markets, and cook in your flat, then $200 per month would probably be sufficient.
But if you would like to do some of your eating in restaurants, visit some bars, and make a few excursions, then I would plan on at least $1000 per month.
Cost of living is the same wherever you go. The average wage in any country is enough and a little more to cover the cost of living.
2000GBP in UK - decent wage not much left at the end of the month after bills if your a little less than frugal.
200 dollar in Ukraine - decent wage not much left at the end of the month after bills if your a little less than frugal.
A lot of women (well the ones I knew anyway) borrow from friends and family but always seem to pay it back. Then they;re lending money to friends and family and always seem to get it back.
Swap "friends and family" for "banks" in Uk in the scenario is the same.
