"This is an FSU forum and this thread is about why FSU men die early."
Hello, hello anyone home?????
This is NOT a thread on why FSU men die early......I know you have trouble comprehending but READ duraks 1st post( the whole post, not skimming or just a few words or one sentence), he was COMPARING the difference in lifespans of people from different countries...it had NOTHING to do with 'why FSU men die early'.....just that they die early with a few examples....
Geez...the mind is a terrible thing to waste.....

1. a great misfortune or disaster, as a flood or serious injury.
2. grievous affliction; adversity; misery: the calamity of war.
And you should pay attention to what you write or read. Where is the calamity if not why FSU men die early?
To set the record straight, Durak referenced me in his original post that both my wife's sister and mother are widows. I felt it an invitation to expound on the circumstances. Since I mentioned that both our fathers died within weeks of the other I thought why not give a brief comparison of their lives or the circumstances in which the Russian men had passed. I'm sure by bringing up the age expectancy of a certain people there must also be underlying reasons or circumstances to be considered. God didn't just give the big wheel a spin and say, "You, you people die at age 61. You, you people die at age 86." Surely to start a discussion on life expectancy one would assume it to provoke a discussion on why this is so. And given the audience here it was also assumed that sooner or later it would spin out of control. My only contribution to "spoiling" this thread was to retort at something that was utter nonsense. A quote from someone, "It's called frustration..."
The op basically gave his opinion of a possible reason for women of this area to consider men from a western (or other) country for stability of life. It was not an essay on the life expectancy of different countries of the world. It was just a quick synopsis of the FSU and lateral countries life expectancies. And why it would be in the ladies' interest to search for men from another land.
I think that my adding a comparison of the circumstances between two men from different parts of the world was relevant to the post.
In short, my response seemed to fall in line with the topic. Except of course when my frustration got the better of me and I responded to another poster... Then of course all hell broke loose. I admit I am to blame for this going south. I will do my best to ignore the nonsense that some feel they need to post. mama said, "Stupid is as stupid does."
Did I explain myself clearly enough for you RB??????
I can't wait until they let me go back to work! I will have far less time to kill.
Although getting paid to do nothing ain't bad either.
danny40 -- I can't wait to go back to work because I am a responsible and dedicated employee. This diversion of the forum is just a time filler. I can't even tie flies one handed. For most of you, what you can do with one hand that gives you pleasure I have no need to do. However I did construct a cedar arbor yesterday with the help of a neighborhood kid. She wanted it for her climbing roses. Lately I have taken control of the garden since there are differing opinions on how to care for plants. Minus the recent mistake I made with plant fertilizer I am an accomplished gardener.
I really find it hard to understand why a thread titled "The Calamity" is only a comparison. Three people says it is about comparison and therefore, it must be stupid or nonsense to assume otherwise as Ralph says.
One question that you did not answer, Ralph. I already asked it, but you did not answer. It's above your post. What is the calamity being discussed in this thread if not why FSU men die early?
Yeah Ralph you piece of crap; how dare you mingle with us CEO's, rail barons and other assorted Captains of Industry. What next, are you going to start giving a full days work for a full days wage?!

At what point will YOU Mr Bull really READ the OP post???? Too bad Durak cannot explain to you that "you just don't get it" , it not in his nature..........
Of course I read the post. Noone still has explained it to me. You sure have not. It is you that don't get it. You repeated my questions and still didn't answer it, and you have the nerve to tell me I don't get it? Where is the calamity? I even pasted the definition for you. Did not your English teacher tell you to pay attention to the title of chapters or books? That is where the main idea is.
What good is a comparison if you don't explain why the difference is? There's the calamity. Even if it is just a comparison, which is hard to believe, would it be unreasonable to expect someone will try to explain the difference in life spans? I think what happened is the topic strayed either when Mr. Durak was writing it or when Ralph took over. Then when you replied to me, you failed to take the title into consideration to save Ralph's ass when he was telling the story about his father.
By the way, I really didn't mean it when I told Ralph, "Who cares about your father if not you?" He was cussing at me at the time and I believed him to be off topic. I really don't mind anyone to be off topic. It does become really strange when a thread titled "The Calamity" becomes about someone who had bad diet habits and a longer life span than FSU men.
I believe it was a mistake by you, Ralph and Mr. Durak. I didn't ask you or Mr. Durak the question. I asked Ralph. I don't care about mistakes until I get cussed at.
I'm sowwy I hurt your feewings by cussing. I was not cussing at you. I was merely using a form of the word 'fuck' as an adjective to amplify the meaning of the word 'idiot'. In this case to exaggerate the word idiot or to emphasize the context of its the meaning. If I were to say, "Bill is an idiot," people could either dismiss the comment or consider it. If I were to say, "Bill is a fucking idiot!" People will be more likely to consider it because there must have been an event that caused me to exclaim it in such terms. And please, don't give me that 'nice language' crap. I decided to read this entire post - all of it - to try to make sense out of why I lost my patience with you RB. I tried to view it as a third party and form an opinion based solely on the content of the posts (not considering what you say in other places). I found it difficult to not get annoyed half way through. I suggest you print out this entire thread. Make all of the posts anonymous - but give them names like 'person 1, person 2 etc. Then take the transcript to someone, say a psychologist and have them read it. Let me know what you find out. Yeah, person #2 has anger issues - but what is the root cause?
I was going to go into what the calamity is here. But this was enough. In short the inferred calamity (from what I can gather by deductive reasoning) is that women in general have no-one to spend a life and grow old with. Too many young widows! Get it!?
Please, take a few moments to gather yourself. Then read this entire thread from beginning to end. Hopefully you will rethink most of your comments.
Lately I am trying to figure out what it is you are doing here? Are you searching for a woman? Are you seeking advice on how to find a woman? Are you some sort of self appointed expert who thinks you should dole out advice and comment on everything (EVERYTHING!)that comes along? Is this really the only social outlet you have? Did you dress up GI Joes in women's clothes? Sorry for that last one. :{
There are a couple others who should answer the same questions about themselves - except for the GI Joe one. But I guess if the dress fits...
RB, I am just trying to figure out why you find it so difficult to not automatically get into a rage (! light bulb just went off!) when someone disagrees with you or you just have a hard time understanding what is said.

I can agree with what you said would be the calamity is. What does that have to do with your Dad's diet which is why you got angry with me in the first place? If there is a situation that you decide to get angry with, and start cussing, then you are guilty for cussing. Whatever the situation was is another matter. It could be totally innocent or not. That can be dealt separately, but better with a cool head. That doesn't excuse your response. I learned that in my Psychology class in my first year of college. Yes, I agree it is difficult to control your anger sometimes.
Ralph, I have found my woman. I have told the story here, but it seems others don't want to believe it. There are a few here who are betting I don't make it. I have a few ideas on why that is, but they speculate on what is happening and make up stories. There are beautiful and available women in my surroundings, but I am a one woman man. I am going to pursue this to a conclusion.
I do wonder what I am doing here and wonder what you and others are. I work with a computer in front of me and I need to take a break and take my mind off work sometimes and I surf the web.
RB - I have never commented on your woman. I have never commented on your situation. Think back - I have never, ever said anything about your situation regarding women. My only response to you was when you got lost on something. Who cares about my father other than me? Right. Nobody. It was just an example. I could have said man 'A' and man 'B'. But then it would have taken the subject away from the original post and my relationship with the given example. The only reason I mentioned my father was because I gave an example of two men for the purpose of stimulating thought on why certain societies have a shorter life expectancy. What I failed to explain is that the differences in medical care - or the availability of care - may have played a role in defining the life expectancy of these two men. If my father had lived in Russia he probably would not have made it past sixty. So bringing this man into the topic for the purpose of discussion I thought would maybe put it into perspective. I did not write exactly what I was thinking. I figured perhaps it was a given. The calamity was that many Russian women don't have continuity with a life long partner. Somebody correct me if I am wrong here. Your insistence of your relationship or that you have many available women does not matter to me. I applaud you. But when you get irked over something that seems pointless and then lash out, then I wonder why or what you are getting on about. And when you insist for an answer... I can't answer something that doesn't make sense, something that is taken out of context or simply is not a real question at all.
