She contacted me first and kept sending emails as to why I wouldn't respond back to her. Finally I did and told her mainly because of age. She's 26 and I'm 48. Now 6 months later,I'm to meet with her in Odessa, not her home town. Yes I'm covering costs, travel for her from Kherson to Odessa along with hotel rooms. Now, she has never asked me for anything. i offered this in a way to let her know I just wasn't one of the guys looking to get laid. Only time I was refused any info was when I asked her for her private email and phone number. She stated she was restricted to give it out because she used the agencies computers and they monitored it. So yes I payed for her info. No big deal. I was/am interested in her so I do pay for the monthly membership, chat fees,email fee's and cam. But to say at limited usage, I'm not rich. Now that we planned on meeting, I told her I didn't want the agency involved, she speaks somewhat good english so no interpter needed and agreed to meeting in Odessa. My main question is,alas the confusion, what are the chances of being had?? Have you ever talked to her on a private phone? Have you ever seen her on personal Skype? Now you are paying for her to come to Odessa. This is the typical classical scam of the Pay-per. Most likely there will be no lady to meet you at the airport.....or......she will be there, maybe with a translator who you will pay for....she will have you take her to nice restaurants and shopping and then drop you. Classic scam. I would run away quickly from this one. And she contacted you first? Scam. Sri but you should have known better. If she's a genuine lady then she'll take a bus and, there's guys around here that know precisely, the bus far is no more than a few dollars. I have talked to her on her cell ( which by the way I called during a cam chat to see if it was really her ). And she stated that she was coming by herself. Any girl that says agency will not let her give out info is bullcrap, more likely you are talking to an interpreter. As for you saying she speaks reasonable English how do you know ? have you spoken to her. maybe your phone number that you paid for is the interpreter ? i know this and it happens. The only way to be sure is direct 1 on 1 communication. have you paid for the hotels ? and her travel in advance, whats the arrangement, she says you meet her at airport then tavel from Kherson together ? or meet you at Odessa ? figgis Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/8/2010 3:23:18 PM   Dream marriage, Big scam site, full of pro daters, they are, Interpreter chats and will even talk on phone, girl meets you and will ask for interpreter, agency will demand a minimum of 50 dollars arrangement fee for meeting with girl, agency can arrange apartments at inflated prices, agency can arrange a driver at way above the local taxi rate, this driver will be paid in advance and will disapear for return journeys leaving you to pay taxi fees at pre arranged prices way above what they should cost. You will eat in restaraunts and her interpreter will keep ordering beers till you can barely stand the more you drink the easier you are. She will ask for a shopping trip to get a new costume and also maybe some money for a bill or anything that she can make sound real. This is a scenario of a pro dater, howether if you have given her agency money in advance to get her from Kherson to Odessa then be prepared to be stood up and kiss yer money goodbye. There is no love and no honour in what these people do, you are no more than another pay day. Sounds cynical but more likely the truth. Have you sent her USD180 or USD90, you only needed to send USD90 because you can give her the return taxi fare when you may be with her? Were she 100% genuine she would have offered to take the bus, I guess less than USD10, as they say if it starts off like this then it is only going to get worse, she's already adopting a lifestyle that she couldn't otherwise afford, if she were paying she'd take the bus, so take plenty of money with you because Odessa has plenty of clothes shops for her to take you to! beemer18 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/8/2010 8:12:29 PM   Kherson is half hour further than Nikolaev. $180 is a little higher than what it should be...probably around $150. I be interested to know who made the arrangements to meet in Odessa...the girl? Who is arranging apt, transfers and taxi? I did have a friend on dream marriage and he was being taken through the chats. My thought was tell the girl you are making all arrangements and see what she says....I can give you a site that you can trust to pick up girl and take her to meet you at airport, transfers and apt.... they will contact girl directly.....hmmmmmm interesting to see what happens gecko Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/8/2010 8:16:57 PM   i have taken the bus, actually it was a minibus, from kherson to odessa in september, it was, as ivor says, about $5. nobody takes a taxi from from kherson to odessa. frankly its just a waste of money. the minibus only makes one stop, and thats in odessa. so there is no advantage of taking a taxi. unless, of course, you are adverse to people. if she's willing to waste your money, what does that say about her and what she thinks of you. sadly, the taxi scam is now the scam of the day. especially, in kiev. it seems noone lives in the center anymore. so you pay $50 for the meeting. and then you pay $50 for her to take a taxi home. joe62 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/9/2010 3:09:50 AM   Thanks guys i appreciate all of this. No i haven't payed for her taxi, the 180 one way seemed steep to me so I did some checking. UTS services charge 180 round trip so I figure something was up. And the only hotel room was for myself, figured I would hold off hers till she arrived just in case. Odessa was my idea beings there was more to do than Kherson, but it now has turned out to only be 1 day for her because of her "work". With the "meeting going into effect I was just getting double signals so that is why I started looking into this. Again guys, thanks...I'm still going, need a break from working in Romania. Only think I'm out of now is the hotel and what I spend for myself. Who knows, may meet someone while I'm there. Oh and yeah...Done with Dream Marriage. Rag'n'Bull Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/9/2010 5:11:24 AM   Joe, $180 would be expensive for two round trips, as beemer indicates circa $75 is about right for one round trip, put it this way a number of years back I took a taxi from Odessa for a 5.5 hour journey across country, that's 11 hours round trip, the cost was circa $125 dollars, i.e. it's circa $20-25 per hour (one way) or half that figure allowing for the taxi's empty return journey. From Odessa Kherson is circa 2.5 to 3 hours so a realistic figure is $75, or less, for a round trip. If a lady ever says to you that a taxi company are quoting her X amount don't fall for it, they all know how it works, for such a journey they'll talk to taxi driver(s) privately for them to do the job 'off the books', i.e. cheaper than would normally be charged. Regardless of who suggested a taxi first she should have offered to take the bus but to tell you that the taxi costs $180, she is scamming you by atleast $100 and, depending if she ever showed up or not, perhaps $180. And I day, that's probably a lie also, if she was keen on you she would find a way to occupy longer with you, 1 day is just long enough for her to take you to the shops to buy lots of nice things for her to never see her again except for a repeat of the same. No reasonable girl would insist on a taxi. They certainly wouldnt be offered a taxi fare from a local guy. If you are going to Odessa check out the free Russian Language dating sites. I was immediately inundated with requests from twenty-somethings. All magazine model types etc. I quit that right away. Then I was getting letters from some who called me their (my love) right off. I dismissed those. Then there were the long exchanges after I finally decided to give EM a try. They were weeded out one by one. And a few I figured as 'too good to be true' types. Or the ones I thought just wanted a ticket to the states. There were many the only point of debate was having children or not. I did not want to start having kids realizing that by the time she got here and hoping nature worked in our favor I could be 52 before the little brat showed up in this world. I am not wealthy and I do not want to work until I am 70 to spend a half million putting a kid through school hoping he turned out okay in the end. Call me selfish if you must. I just wanted someone to spend time and travel with, enjoy life and experiences things before I get old. I met a wonderful and honest Russian lady on Gimeney and spent three days in Moscow with her. She wanted to continue the relationship but I just didn't "click" with her so we ended it. Later on tau2 I met my fiancee (two years ago) and have since filed the Fiancee Visa paperwork five months ago and hopefully soon I'll get a response.
