There have been letters back and forth, chats. I also sent flowers once and called another girl once. I've asked Anastasia customer service if the girls receive any sort of compensation, a commission or whatever, for the money I spend in their behalf. Anastasia has denied this, but I just can't believe the women are not somehow compensated, and thus motivated to stimulate continuing interest from paying members like me. Some members who can read Russian, have found news paper ads in the “Wanted” sections, for Pretty Girls who can speak and read English!! They want them for translation and for chatting,,, that’s why they need to be pretty!! If you go to Russia or Ukraine, try asking a taxi driver, or a bartender about the dating agencies and girls?? I bet you won’t get an answer!! They will just shrug their shoulders! They don’t want to say anything that could hurt their own business!! I think we are the only thing keeping their economies from crashing!? Anastasia is really pushing the chatting service, and to me, it is to put the agencies out of business, or at least, to take them out of the picture!! When a girl has her own computer, an agency doesn’t get a penny!! A girl can bring in hundreds of dollars a night, she has to be getting something for her time!! I have seen girls online for more than 24 hours straight! If it isn’t a video chat, who knows who is on the other side?? It is a dirty, dirty business!!!! I had been on Anastasia for three years, and for the first two, I thought they were alright. But after having,,, ZERO success, I began to be a little more critical of them!! What was the last straw, is their chatting service!! There is no “OFF” button, no busy, or off-line feature! I have dial-up internet, I literally could not use their website anymore!! I would get so many chat invites, that I could not move from webpage to webpage, the chat invites used up all of my internet speed!! I was happy for this though,,,, it showed me their true intentions!!! MONEY,,,,, just,,,, MONEY!!!!!! I complained to their customer service several times about the chat system, the first time, they told me; We hope to have a “off-line” feature in 2 or 3 months!!! In 3 months to the day, I contacted them again, and asked; How soon will they have an off button?? They said; You must have misunderstood! We have no plans of creating an “off-line” feature! Well,,,, xxxx that!!! I told them I wanted my profile removed! They wouldn’t do it??? I wrote to them again! ,,,, I want off of this site, and I want off now!!! Their reply; We are sorry you have experienced some difficulties, we are willing to add some free credits to your account!! My reply;,, You must have the impression, that I want to stay on this site??? I DO NOT!!!! I want off of this site now!! They still would not remove my profile???!!! Their next reply was something like this; We are trying to help you! If you have any evidence of a girls misdeeds, show us and we will look into it for you!! If we find such proof, we can credit your account with some complementary credits??!! I’m about to go “Postal”!!!! I sent this back to them;,,,” I want off of this God dxxx xxxxing website right now!!! Mostly the feeling that I got is that most of the women don't seem to be the slightest bit interested in pursuing genuine relationships. Anastasia has been pushing their chat feature pretty hard and at $2/min why wouldn't they. I know of cam sites where you can at least see the girl get naked. On top of that they'll chat with you to the same extent that the women on Anastasia do. The feeling that I was left with was that Anastasia is nothing more than a cam site where women can earn compensation without having to take off their clothes. I've even done the cam chatting with a couple just out of curiosity and when I asked if I could send them a letter the response was "I don't like letters. Let's just communicate over chat." Pick one out of a magazine, pay the appropriate fees etc. And she is sent to you sight unseen. Like a package in the mail. Today it is much different as explained - sort of - above. The US guvment got involved after there had been many cases of abuse against such women. IMBRA made it more difficult for predators to obtain victims. Times have changed. The umbrella of IMBRA has impacted any website or "agency" designed to introduce foreign women to American men for a FEE. The wording is important. And how one approaches this endeavor must be carefully thought out. IVOR, you have no idea how controlling the US guvment actually is for those who follow the rules. When you have time, get a copy of the health care reform law commonly referred to as OBAMA CARE. If can read it and understand it, then you know more about it than 95% (if not all) of the legislators who voted for it. First, PPL are dangerous for those without direction and knowledge...if you get excited by some girl being nice to you...just give them your money. USE the site by using their rules. Chatting, especially video chatting is throwing money away with no real purpose. Take some time to see if girl is 'chatting' at all hours, if so forget her. Look at profile for key words and sensible pics. If you can get a 20+ at home go for a 20+ on sites. Write for short period of time (couple months before visit), get contact info by 3rd party flower delivery( only for special days) or through their phone service...these are only ways to get contact info. VERY hard if girl speaks little to no english. I try to stay in control by sending letters maybe weekly and if girl answers next day-drop her. When there is $$$ involved- you've got to be careful. I was pointing out that the women through Anastasia don't seem to be genuinely interested in pursuing anything real. And also that I feel there may be some credence to the notion that they are being compensated by the site for their time spent on it. The way they behave on that site certain seems to support that notion. It certainly does seem like that "all" of these women have internet connections and computers at home. I say this because I've seen women use internet at an agency through other sites. The women through Anastasia are clearly at home when you can see the background of where they are and also when they tell you they are at home. I honestly believe Anastasia provide cameras to these women so they can stay at home and spend all day on the site. I'm even willing to go as far as to claim they even provide laptops to these women to use at home for that purpose because all of them seem to own laptops and not regular desktop PC's. Anastasia also does something where they catalog women by how "beautiful" they are. If you do a standard search on Anastasia you'll see that all the "beautiful" women are show first while the not beautiful women are pushed to the back pages where no one will likely see them. And if you look at their live chat catalog you'll also notice that the vast majority of them are these so called "beautiful" women. It's pretty clear to me that Anastasia's business practice is to bait men into chatting with these beautiful women at a hefty cost. You add all of the presumptions together and the evidence is rather compelling. Anastasia identifies beautiful women and provides them with laptops, webcams, and possibly home internet connections to entice men to use their expensive service. These women are honestly not interested but are being compensated for their time. I live chatted a few times with one lady and we really seemed to be having a good time. By the last chat I was polite and told her I didn't think we were a marriage match and wished her luck in her search. Her response was something like "I didn't really like you anyway there are plenty of other men I can talk to here." I don't know what is going on between you and girls but eventually you have to get away from dealing with anastasia/agency...maybe that is why you feel the interest is not there. I don't know. I don't know if girl is at home with computer or at agency....all depends on what time it is there. I have asked about the chatting aspect before, mostly it is at agency, very few at home. I only used it at first because it "appeared" to be an upscale service catering to upscale and serious men. After a few months it became clear that wasn't the case and there were too many questionable things involving that site. Also, someone posted the site that the women use for Aweb where it showed that they were paying women to be on the site with gifts and god knows what else. I have a similar story about them. I started online dating very slowly on the big name American sites, and had no luck. They have a log to track exactly how much money has been generated by every profile (girl) and pays a percentage to her agency. The agency then pays the percentage of this percentage to a girl.
