Hello,
I've got:
1. My last 6 monthly wage slips
2. Bank statement (with over £1000 in it).
3. Letter from my employer verifying my position.
4. Proof of togetherness/love
(photo's, skype/phone/e-mail lists, plane/train/accomodation ticket stubs....)
5. Our marriage certificate
Now I need to show proof of home ownership.
My lawyer says the land registry document is necessary....
...will a fotocopy be OK?????
Any help with this specific question or a heads up about possible problems would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone can read the requirements on a website somewhere, or enquire of a UK Consulate via email, one does not need to own a property, one just needs a place to live.
The lawyer did the conveyancing on my house. He's out of his comfort zone with immigration questions.
If I had a rent book, I'd show the embassy the rent book.
If I lived with family, I'd supply the embassy with a letter of explanation.
As it happens Iryna and I chose a wonderful first home so proof of ownership IS the place we have to live.
I'm curious as to the hostility, Ivor.
Does it come from a socialist 'all property is theft' viewpoint?
Is it jealous bitterness caused by living in a bedsit funded by the DHSS (inbetween the smackhead and the pre-op transvestite)
Or are you just a prick who loved the anonymity of internet arguments (AKA a PHucking coward)???
do you not pay land rates in auss??
if its new home then i'm guessing this is out of the question, (havent received yet)
then any paperwork that has your name involved with your property.
copy of property deed i'm sure would be fine.
and something that also shows you receive mail at that address.
if you need to, combined papers to show all this.
the reality is anything that they can do a quick easy check on(if they did).
-part of old rates demand with my name on it has been sweet for me.
oddly its only a land tax bill of cause, might have none or five houses on it for all they now...
the government tax office that is.
"do you not pay land rates in auss??"
If this was asked to me I don't know...I'm from Yorkshire, England.
Actually I've just had my annual council tax assessment (less 25% for single adult occupancy).
When my wife arrives I (sorry, WE) will have to inform the council and start paying the full 100% from the very first day that we two adults are living there.
That way my wife will start to build a checkable United Kingdom identity.
