I have decided to retire my account with fiance.com. I have come to the realization that I have nothing constructive to add to the forum, that others are more 'qualified' than I to discuss. I wish you all the best and good fortune as you continue in your quest. I will add that if you are really serious about this you have few choices. One option is to enlist in a free social network and try to meet someone. Or, as many are bent on the Ukraine, just go there and mingle. My advice is to really take a look at why you are doing this in the first place. If your reasons are sound, then go to Russia. Since this journey will require a substantial investment, use Elena's Models. The up front cost will even out in the long run. The chances of meeting a serious lady goes way up. And you can start personal correspondence from the beginning. Start to learn the Russian language! Russia is a beautiful country. And the people, although they can be quite standoffish at first, are very friendly and accommodating. Russia is a big place. You must still watch your back. The people are great overall. But it is still a place full of grifters.
After having thought about it for a while I have come to the conclusion that Ukraine is the wal-mart of FSU dating. It has become a treacherous place that wants to get your money by any means available. Yet there ARE good women looking for a man. It is like finding a needle in a a haystack.
Many men search, but few travel. I think the reason so many women ask 'when are you coming to visit?' is because they have spent hours/days/years talking to men who never show up. I would recommend just going there and experiencing it regardless of how many women you have lined up. Many talk about having a plan, a backup plan etc. Until you experience it firsthand your plans are nothing. Your plans will change and your perspective of the people of the world will also change.
JUST GO THERE! DO IT. FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF WHAT IT IS LIKE AND HOW OTHER PEOPLE OF THE WORLD LIVE. YOU WILL BE AMAZED AND HUMBLED AT THE SAME TIME.
My time on this forum is limted also, with my fiancee getting her visa last Friday, I don't anticipate many more visits here. I will probabibly check in from time to time to let everyone know how it worked out but I don't expect to be a regular here anymore.
I have learned that there is no way, other than to ignore it, to remove yourself from this forum. I looked in to see what was going on. And I find that the reason I "retired" is what still dominates the forum. Since the moderators have been on vacation for a few years it will continue to be the same. A good idea gone bad...
The reason I checked in is because it has been one year today that my best friend's plane landed in America. She is also my wife and the most amazing person I have ever met. I spoke to my mom this morning and she reminded me how lucky I am to have met such a special lady.
Mini Cooper, I hope you are able to make the same statement next year! Good luck.
I for one is grateful to the moderators and the owners of fiance.com for providing us this forum. There have been times when I, and I am sure many here, wonder how some posts are allowed and some not. We can suggest rules on how they should run this forum, but it is a private company and it is theirs. If they want to go on vacation, they can and they have a right to. Still, I doubt if there is any other forum that compares to this in discussing FSU dating, and I thank them for providing it for us.
