Friday March 4th.
My wife and I finally collect ALL the documents necesasry for her to apply for her SPOUSE VISA.
After taking them to Visa office she is told 'one to four months for processing....'.
Today is exactly 4 weeks.
Today the website had changed from:
"Visa application in process".
to:
"Process complete. Visa handed to courier".
It's the shortest possible time for the process to be finished (and I really believe this is due to the fact that we are obviously a genuine couple who have devoted ourselves to each other. We've jumped through every hoop they've asked us to jump, been to Kiev for language tests and interviews and allsorts (Simferopol to Kiev 17 hours, one way!).
Also Iryna has been To UK 3 times and never broke (or even slightly bent) a single rule....
Could this speedy completion simply be fairness for how correctly we have tried to follow the system???
.........because, until she has the passport in her hands and can tell me the exact wording of their decision, I will not sleep for fear of a massive injustice and an even bigger upheaval to our plans of married life together.
Say prayers....light candles...rub a hunchbacks hump....WHATEVER
Just try and focus positive vibes and a sincere wish for fairness upon we two very anxious newly weds....
it depends on how many applications they have in any given month. there are 3 service centers that do the application, the average for each is different. it can take up to 1 year if you do not do the paperwork correctly. most fiance visa appliations are done within 5 1/2 months provided you have sent all the requied papers.
We paid Ekaterina Taylor 200 euro's for her help and advice (spouse visa) and 100 euro's for visitor visa, last year.
IT'S A YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flights already booked for next wednesday (9 days off)
We could have saved £80 by waiting another week but we decided against waiting 16 days. 39 days apart is long enough.
Interesting - in USA here - that I was sent a notification that because of the back log of requests my wife's application for permanent residence was transferred to another office (California _ I am on the east coast) to speed up the process. I was floored thinking this is just another run around. What if we have to go to interviews etc... Thinking all of the worst scenarios.
In less than two weeks she got her green card. And every other possible legal document we applied for. There was no interview, no questions, nothing. !!!
So, in the entire process there was nothing more than a couple questions at the Moscow embassy - five minute interview - and filling out the paperwork correctly. Oh, and having to go to Philly for fingerprints and photo. Other than that, no hassles, no questions and no doubts. Just have to keep track of date to file for citizenship within 90 days of expiration of conditional 'green card'. IN two years we file for citizenship and not have to deal with USCIS again once it is approved. But the reality is that my only dealings were filling out paperwork and waiting.
It was just over two years ago I started my search. Feb 2009. Lady arrived in USA March 2010.
"it is good to have all your ducks in a row".
That's some of the best advice a person could give (or recieve)
and, even by the standards of an Englishman, delivered in a remarkably understated way...!?
