I just wanted to thank all of you helpful folks in sharing your experiences and knowledge. I now have a semi solid battle plan (I hope) on where to begin my stay and what to do in case of a no show based on your input. Thanks again evryone
It's just an example, Danny. Suppose you found a swimming pool and needed swim trunks, or it was winter and forgot your coat? Personally, rI would use Igor to purchase train tickets for me and find my correct seat.
obviously you are not aware of the exchange rate in Ukraine. you can find some great deals on clothing if you know where to look, I was able to purchase a nice suit, tie and shirt for around 100 dollars.
I did use Igor to go shopping - for souvenirs. I had a day to kill. I always use Boryspil Hotel when I come back. Coming from other cities, your plane might get delayed, as did mine one time. It's good to come back a day early.
You can get good deals on suits here too, bowhunter. I have not shopped there lately, so I can't quote you a price. Try Chinatown or the swap meet. They have catalogs where you can pick your style, then they measure you for a nice fit. I bought my daughter a formal dress there one time. I saved a hundred or so from what she was about to spend. They also have wedding dresses.
By the way, I have doubts on whether there was anything major wrong with the plane I rode that was delayed in Zaporozhye for six to seven hours. I went outside a few times and saw the plane. I saw noone working on it each time. I remember an airline's tactics that is now out of business. They would delay a plane for a long time to get more passengers.
