I'm a newbie here and have a quick question about the "message receipt confirmation" emails that I receive after sending a letter through this site. I wrote to a girl very late one night and recieved the confirmation message from her within minutes of sending the email - I live in Central Europe and the girl I was writing to is only one hour ahead of me, which means that she was reading it, in the agency, at about 3am! I'm rather baffled! :-) I have had no doubts concerning her sincerity, and I'm as sure as I can be that she writes her letters herself (she writes them at home then takes them on diskette to the agency.) I'd appreciate any ideas you may have on the subject...
...I've read the thread "Unoriginal Questions" and I've takenon board the things Olga spoke about in her response - but an agency working at 3am on Monday morning strikes me as a little unlikely! ;-) Do you think this is normal?
I had a similar one last week, read and replied to after midnight (GMT) which I found strange. However, the letters were quite personal and lengthy so seemed genuine.
The girl evntually told me that she lived in the same building as the agency (how conveniant), she also happened to do translation for them none of which was mentioned earlier.
Letters soon broke down.
I would equally like to know how some girls get their replies out so quickly and occasionally at times when they she be getting their beauty sleep!
Beauty sleep - lol :-) Just what I was thinking too!
I've also had no response since then (after several letters before) - am thinking your experiences are about to be shared by me!
Is it possible that the confirmation is an automatic response from the agencies email server? I don't know too much about computers, but I'm wondering if all the mail is sent to one email address and then a computer program takes it from that mailbox and stores it somewhere else for the girls retrieval at a later date - thus we get a 'message receipt' even though no one has read the message...would that be possible do you think?
It's possible for email / account mail to be filtered and parsed out automatically but I doubt the agencies are sophisticated enough to do this. A question for Olga I think.
I wonder whteher agencies intercept mail at their conveniance, translate as appropriate and file it away for when the client actually arrives to receive it. In the same way that maybe replies made at 'odd' hours are simply the agencies catching up before doing their midnight stroll around the graveyards.
I think you will find the answer to this question on another thread here guys.......I seem to recall a similar question being asked some weeks back and I think Olga did say that the message confirmation was an automatic response. Can you confirm please Olga?
An automatic response is likely generated by fiance.com's web software which means an actual person (recipient) must trigger that response.
Is it common for agencies to be "reading" mail during late hours?
Are business hours normmaly 9 to 5 or as suits?
Within the mailing model there is no authentication process as to whether the girl or agency received the mail; other than the actual response and it's that uncertainty which can through up some confusion as to when the girl was actually privy to the original letter if at all where a third party is involved.
Olga, do you happen to remember the thread that gladiatorUK mentioned? I've looked back through at all the subject headers and have clicked all the 'Help, please' and 'Need Advice' links too - no luck so far. :-(
Ask if you can call Kate and watch him/her panic! ;-)
That was one of the last things I asked after suspecting that things were not quite right and probably quite a good line to follow with any other letters/girls. Anyone serious about meeting their other half should have no problem in giving their address or accepting a phone call. A phone call is a way of confirming the "authentication" I mentioned that was otherwise absent in the receipt confirmation process.
I'm about to reply to you! I wish you had not put her ID number out as I must stress to everyone reading this that I am NOT at all certain that she is false or dodgy or a scammer or whatever...
...her letters have contained detailed responses to my questions, nor has she asked for money - my original concerns were with the agency - NOT her!
Due to a couple of things said by DMA I requested further info from him about her.
Olga before you take action please wait for further correspondence from me unless you are absolutely certain! This girl intrigues me far more than most of the other 27 who have written to me in the last 10 days!!!!!
I shouldn't have posted the ID without asking you first. Sorry.
...and would delete it but we all know there's no EDIT feature ;)
BUT, I suspect that you're falling for the same line...
You'll get "great" letters day after day (Given she says she's an English graduate, as you say much better than any of the other girls and regular too) until you start probing deeper. Her motives are not as clear as many of the others - try asking her what she wants from all of this. The trigger for me, was asking for her phone number. It died very quickly after that which seemed strange.
As for message receipt confirmations and ladies from agencies. Those confirmations are sent from OUR e-mail server when the message sent was received.Agencies do not get letters by e-mail. They have web-based accounts, similar to what you guys have at www.fiance.com and here they got all messages for their ladies stored. They get notified when there is a message for their lady and then they have to log in and get it from there. When they acces the page with your letter, the receipt confirmation is sent out.
This doesnt means Received by the lady. It means received by her agency.Someone has to get the messages type them out and bring to the office. Only after that ladies get those. I know that reading that "lady is using agency's e-mail" some people think that this is like a computer in the officem that ladies can access by themselves for getting their e-mail. Thats not so. Usually there is a computer at the agency and a couple of people that get messages for ALL ladies of this agency.( usually it is the same person who does the translations).Lots of agencies do it from home and usually its done in night hours-when internet connection is cheaper. Only some agencies can afford having DSL service in their offices.
As for the fact that the lady apears to live in the same building where her agency is based-I knew lots of ladies who work in those agencies as interpreters and they are using the services of those agencies for finding a husband. I even knew one agency that had real problems with hiring interpreters, they had to find a new one every 5-6 months-those girls got married very quickly-fluent english and access to customer's database was very helpful ;-))))))Also, if a manager of the agency or the interpreter of the agency have some friends that are not married-be sure that those will be in this agency and they will get the best service there ;-)))
