Just wondering if anybody knows what the divorce rate is in the Ukraine? and Russia... well i am actually more interested to know about Ukraine if anybody has some facts?...
These statistical questions are always rather tricky. Things like "divorce rate" can be defined in several ways, and even if people agree on a definition, such statistics may be difficult to measure.
From a quick web search, it looks to me that both Ukraine and Russia have (like the USA) divorce rates that are much higher than most of the world's states. The rates seem to be not quite so high as the USA, but still very high compared to most of the world.
To give some idea how tricky these comparisons are, a table whose source I didn't find claims that 40% of Ukrainian marriages end in divorce (the comparable figure for the USA is almost 55%). But men have dreadful mortality in Ukraine, so a relatively high proportion of relatively young marriages end in the man's death. Other things being equal, maybe the percent of marriages ending in divorce would be more similar, if life expectancies were also similar.
Setting these details aside, if divorce rates were grouped like T-shirt sizes, I think that Russia and Ukraine would probably both be XL (extra large).
