I didn't worry about russian license. they didn't accept it (PA). wife got permit, waited the 60 days and passed driving test. this is in USA/PA. and they say america is f'd up??? first off, why would she need to BUY a driver's license? I would use the 800 to buy her a new wet suit, tanks, mask and regulator etc. ... but that's just me. don't know the aussie laws. but if she can keep herself on the road and obey the rules it should not be a problem. keep in mind the ruskies drive on the right side of the road. so if she does have experience she will have to learn the wrong way to drive. and it's a bitch to drive that way after years of driving the other way. and what is wrong with a probationary license, she can't stay out past ten without her dad in the car??? He wanted to her to take the lessons so that she would be safe and proficient but her attitude was, "Why should I take the lessons when I could just buy one?" His perfect response was, "Well you want me to learn Russian, why don't I pay someone to give me a certificate stating that I'm now fluent in Russian?" For her safety and the safety of passengerss and other motorists, pay for the proper instruction.
