It's OK to say "what you said is wrong," but you can't say "you're a ninny," "how can you be so stupid," etc. etc. On such a forum, TOPICS are debated -- sometimes heatedly -- but interpersonal bickering (of the sort that abounds here) just can't continue. Also, when a person posts under more than one identity, this is called "sock puppeting," and is considered extremely bad manners. On a "clean" forum, detection of this results in an immediate and permanent ban of the offender. I am confident that many men who look at this forum (which often shows on the first page of google searches) see mountains of rubbish and never come back. I know for a fact that others who sift through the garbage in hopes of learning something worthwhile, are very reluctant to post anything because they don't want to become targets of childish bullying. Ending an online feud is incredibly easy: don't reply to anything obnoxious. Only twice have forum members taken potshots at me (that I noticed!), and I declined to shoot back. It was over before it started. It's my policy not to attack others. I believe I know a few things that most of the other guys here don't. And every one of you knows things I don't, and have done worthwhile things I never have. At times, some of the crankiest and most erratic men in this forum have shown real kindness and depth. So who the hell am I, to criticize you? Ralph's case is an interesting example. I am privileged to know him as a friend: he's a fine man. His bouts of feuding with another guy on this forum have been a puzzle to me. I was perfectly calm, but my reply angered them and I got the blame. I put my terms out there for Danny so we can quit this many times. He continues to refuse. Walking away from the forum is an option, but I am not ready to do that. At least, not yet. Life is frustrating when you don't accept your fate. I have accepted and am building on that fate. In real life, I do not reply to my friends and relatives as Mr. Durak says, if they do anything obnoxious. I also avoid them which many do not like. They have to be nice to see me or they don't see me.
