I have accounts at PrivatBank which is the largest, Raiffeisen Bank Aval and Procredit Bank. Currently, you can get anywhere from 12-15% interest on your savings accounts which means if you have like 300,000US to retire on or live in country you will live quite well. I've completely forgotten the actual numbers, but when he told me about mortgage rates I was shocked: they are very high, compared to what has been common in the US in the past 15 years or so.
