RT,, when I read your post, my first thought was one of embarrassment! To see an advertisement from Anastasia in front of other people,,, I wouldn’t want anyone to know I am engaged in the same dealings.
What was the commercial like?? I would expect it to be on the gaudy side,,, big breasted women with long legs flaunting themselves for the camera! lol
Oh,,,, and they want us soooo much!!!
Bow,,, how do they calculate the number of people who join on your behalf,, or do you get a % of the total??
It was a short spot, one model type, not overt, yet it is suggestive to what is written here daily. The ad speaks for itself because of the preconceived ideas (both advantage and disadvantage) in seeking a spouse in FSU are as prevelant as any "Pop Topic". The ad is for those who believe in the advantages and will use their service. In my search, the only advantage I perceive is, when "She" is angry with me, I don't understand what she is saying to me,,,,, that too is changing with time and my understanding of the language,,,,, but I can't go back now,,,, nor do I want to. It works well for me.
I dont know how they can get over the image that they are nothing but a scam? Anyone who has looked for a wife for any length of time in the former USSR
(FSU)knows its a scam. google them and its more negative than positive.
Then again, If you are a letter writer without any plan to actually go there then Its just as good a fantasy as anything else I guess.
Only 30% of the guys who sign up actually ever go to meet anyone. Half of them are ugly losers who have failed at home.
"anastasiadate are a bunch of 24 carat plonkers; they photoshop all the girls and then tell you to "just be patient" if/when the girl disappears. They're a waste of time unless as someone else mentioned, you prefer day dreaming over reality
Notice how the girls are dressed!! is it to present themselves as marriage material,,,, or just to get the attention of perverts???
They are not advertising towards marriage minded men,,,, just the pervs!
I wouldn't want the whole world to know if my girl has a neat one or a druppy or flappy one.
When I was in Lugansk at a Romance Social - I was approached by a stunningly beautiful girl. Since I was standing on some stairs - I thought she wanted me to move. I thought I was blocking her way. But then she made it clear that she wanted my attention.
Honestly this was one of thsoe situations where instinct takes over and as I am not a very handsome man - I just assumed that this girl was there for someone else.
As it worked out - this might have been the closest I ever really came to being scammed. I'll explain.
I fell for her immediately - even though her English was very bad - at certain times, and much better at other times. That happens sometimes if a girl is a little nervous.
I mentioned her before in this forum. We dated a few times and I could understand her when she was sitting next to me, because we used props, expression and other things.
She went home for Orthodox Easter. I even offered to come with her and meet her family, but she said it was too soon. So I stayed in a boring old Soviet style hotel for the holiday.
While she was gone - I did some searches on the internet with the information I had on her. And I found her. She was one of those girls on Anastasiadate.com that you can buy credits for and talk to. And she was online via her mobile phone almost always (she still is). You buy credits which come out to roughly $1 a piece (there are quanity discounts). It costs about 1 credit per minute to talk with her. Of course this raised a lot of red flags. How many men were in love with her - she seemed to be kind of a profesional at this. Even though she HAD a job she never seemed to be there - but alwyas seemed to be available for chat over Anastasia.
She told me that she didn't have a computer. But when I signed up with Anastasia for a free 30 minute trial membership - just to talk with her - son-of-a-gun she was sitting in a room in front of a camera. She seemed very surprised that I had found her.
Anyway - when I went back to the USA and tried to talk with her by phone it was a nightmare. We could not communicate at all. It seemed that she had forgotten all English - OR to be a ploy. She explained that the computer I saw her on belonged to her cousin and that she used it rarely. But she also told me that she had no access to Skype (I though maybe we could communicate if I saw her face).
She told me that the ONLY way we could communicate was throgu Anastasiadate - at $1 per minute. Well forget that. I wasn't going to use that service after my free 30 minutes.
I am pretty sure that the girls on there get a percentage of the money their calls bring in. And I think she was just increasing her herd (or trying to) by trying to get me as of her regulars.
Later I watched a recorded video of her on that site - where she actually speaks. It was her voice and she spoke pretty good english. So WHY couldn't she speak to me on the phone? Because she wasn't making any money talking to me on the phone.
Anyway - I didn't lose any money to her - but I don't think she was honest. I think I was a business opportunity for her.
Well - I have another girl now - younger (too young), better looking and she speaks great English. Life is good.
I left this out of my story above - and it doesn't make sense without it.
Her mobile phone has internet so she is generally avilable through it as opposed to a computer. The single time I used my free 30 minutes - I saw her on camera in front of a computer. SO I have no idea how she is online with the mobile - text only - or does she take images with it?
All I know is that something stinks to high heaven about this. And I was happy to move on.
When I talk to a girlfriend from the US I typically talk for one or two hours - I sure wasn't going to pay $60 to $120 every few days to TALK with this one.
Again - does anyone know how it works? Do the girls on Anastasia date get a cut of the money spent talking to them?
One day I looked and saw that she had sent me a virtual teddy-bear as a gift on Anastasiadate. That was nice and I thought I might reciprocate. But it was either $5 or $10 to send a virtual gift (A PICTURE of a flower) back. No way am I going to pay that kind of money to send a little flower icon.
