I have heard of it about Ukraine. I have not run into it. I remember reading about it, but did not pay much attention. There was an episode on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I don't know about it, so I assumed it was just a story. It was even a topic at my church, but these were probably women or children from Mexico. I did not attend that presentation.
Just like at least one forum member, I have a website in which I promote fiance.com, for one. I have have twitter accounts to promote them. One of my twitter account is on FSU dating and I have another one for conservative issues. I was active in trying to get Mitt Romney get elected.
Just recently, I decided to tweet FSU dating on my conservative site to get more traffic. I was confronted by a woman who accused me of human trafficking. I was not rude. I only answered her questions. Others followed supporting her. I told them my site just supports dating sites, similar to match.com, only it is in another country. That did no good. They said love should not be bought; women should not be bought; I operate a sex ring; I will have to answer to God for this; I was even threatened with a gun.
Many blocked my twitter account which caused it to be suspended. I have been suspended before, but always re-instated. I don't know this time. I do have back up Twitter accounts.
How does human trafficking in the FSU? I think what I've read is they are offered jobs overseas, but the jobs are prostitution.
Twitter re-instated my account two hours after I wrote this. Somehow, those who blocked me got unblocked. I got the last word by telling them I was innocent, I was still there and they're blocked. Then, I blocked them.
Human trafficking is done a number of different ways. Often its done on the prospect of getting a job as a waitress or a bartender - even a dance instructor, in a foreign country. Sometimes the girl gets into the foreign country legally, but many times she cooperates with some illegal attempt to get her in. And once in of course the trafficker can hold her illegal status over her head and claim she will go to prison if she is caught. Often the girl is told that she must "work off" the costs of bringing her into the foreign country, or that people at home who are close to her will be hurt if she tries to escape.
Since girls from FSU countries know they cannot trust the police in their home countries, the police in a foreign land are the last people they will run to.
Now, having said that, I must tell you that not all offers to work abroad as a bartender etc. are illegitimate. I know a beautiful 21 year old girl who has worked abroad as a bartender in Turkey, (I think) Egypt and most recently Greece, during the summers. She has made enough money to pay for her schooling and has always had a wonderful time. Whether she willingly also prostitutes on the side? Your guess is as good as mine. But she has never been abused even though her entry into foreign countries may or may not have been legal.
Another way that traffickers get girls is to "fall in love with" them. A suave good-looking man will come and pretend to fall in love with a good looking but underappreciated girl and will promise to take her to his home country. Once out of Ukraine, he sell the love struck girl for several thousand dollars. He can make a nice living this way. An attempt at this, I believe, was made on an ex of mine.
This ex of mine, met a suave, good looking, Arab, after we broke up, He wined her and dined her and "fell in love with" her and promised his life would not be complete if she did not join him in his home country - where of course he promised he had a mansion, and servants. She was taken in and thought that she had met the love of her life. She told her mother she was going to go with him. He would pay the way of course and all of ths happened within a month.
Her mother was dubious and talked her out of it. The mother suggested that if this was real, he would wait for her for six months and that such a wait would prove that he was really serious. When she told the Arab that she would not go with him immediately, he disappeared like a shot, never to be heard from again.
I firmly believe she would have been sold if she had gone with him. And now she thinks so too.
Ragingbull: Most western women think of themselves as excellent catches, and that western women in general are as good as it gets, so of course if you are going to the FSU you MUST be trying to take advantage of some poor underprivileged women for sexual reasons.
Some just resent the competition.
The way they see it, western men are pigs and these pigs are lucky they get a chance at their superior western women counterparts. And if any FSU falls for one of us pigs, she must be doing it because she is desperate to get out of the poverty of her home country. And these FSU girls ARE prostituting themselves, according to western women, in order to get a chance at a decent life.
I shake my head in disbelief at such people, just like I shake my head in disbelief at Romney supporters like yourself, who think the Patriot Act has EVER stopped a terrorist attack, and isn't instead used and abused according to classifed government interpretation strictly against American citizens who have nothing to do with terrorism.
" so of course if you are going to the FSU you MUST be trying to take advantage of some poor underprivileged women for sexual reasons. "
Isn't this what you're trying to do, you desperate old fool?
I missed a part in one of your boring, bullshit postings about 'your' 21 year old who is ' the #1 reason ' why you're travelling back to a 3rd World country.
Take a tip from smart A,
Buy yourself an un-bais mirror, look into it and you will see what the American beauties see..An old fool who thinks he is 20 something.
Like I said to you after your ' drum roll pleasssseeee' posting. You're a dreamer on a fantasy trip who lives in denial of your own and many, short comings.
Now you're an 'expert' on human trafficking....Huh!!!!
Go and join Martin in the Philippines, he can show you how to date girls younger then 21year old.
Tossers!.....................-_-......................
Jetmba, the Patriot act is no longer a Republican or a Democrat issue. President Obama signed the extension of its main parts. There are two issues here: protection and privacy. If this has gone too far as far in the invasion of privacy, then I would join you in its protest. I am part of many social circles on the internet. I have not seen one time anyone complained about his privacy being invaded.
One of these key provisions is the disclosure of who owns what account. The change I see on me is the proof of American citizenship in opening a bank account or investment. I see this as the prevention of Al Queda or any other terrorist organization from participating in financial markets. I think this helps or has helped in de-funding the terrorists.
Jetmba, you must not be watching the news often. I have seen many instances throughout the years after the Patriot act was enacted when people arrested for attempted terrorist plots in its planning stages. I wondered how the f-- did they know that. Attempted terrorist plots in its planning stages do not get much news. If it is broadcast at all, it takes less than a minute. I don't see the US government notifying the media when they find a terrorist. I think they keep quiet.
It is the plans that succeed that gets the news, hours and days of it after it happens. I think we would have more of that if not for the Patriot Act.
The fellow "tweeters" I encountered were led by two women. Their profiles say they were Republicans and also human trafficking advocates. Other than the presentation at church, I have not heard much about human trafficking. But when I hear them talk about it, it sounds like it is a big problem.
Human traffickers, I would imagine, would not go into Twitter to announce their ventures. These two women were looking for them, could not find them, but found me to pick on. I also believe, they were jealous at the beauty and personality of these women, at least on their profiles.
I opened this thread to see how big of a problem it is. I heard of victims from Ukraine, but have they reached to US? I have not heard or seen that. I have not seen of Mexican, Central or South American victims either.
Yes, human trafficking In and out of Ukraine is real. Even now I still am told of girls disappearing in Kharkiv but also small towns by "wealthy men"
offering and scheme to get them to go with them or offer some fake job. Amazingly, The US hardly interferes in the main trafficking hubs like Kosovo.
Their prime minister, Thaci even has girls brought to him while the US looks the other way. Its very difficult in past few years to rescue girls from there.
Fortunately, girls are smarter thanks to public information campaigns my charity and others do to warn girls about this.
New laws against pornography production is making trafficking inside Ukraine more difficult although it now spreads to Romania and still exists in Balkan countries where borders are weak. Of course its Ironic that a guy like me that likes to bed the local population is so active in anti-trafficking.
Ragingbull. Of COURSE you don't know of anyone who is aware that his privacy has been compromised by the Partiot Act, thats the entire point of the act. Its done in secret and the nvestigations are done behind your back. There are also provisions in the law that make it illegel for those who are being investingated, when they DO find out about it, to go to the press. THATS why you have never heard of the abuses.
And as far as the FBI stopping terrorists, most of that is Security Theater. The FBI is famous for finding a (usually Muslim) malcontent, going to great lengths to get close to him and to hone and refine his hatred, provide the idea, the design and even the supplies to produce such things as (completely fake) car bombs to be set off outside of the NY Federal Reserve - or to supply him with radio controlled airplanes and fake bombs in another case, and then on the day the planned event is to take place, they swoop in and arrest the guy they had set up. Its Security Theater meant entirely to justify their own existance and to provide media opportunities on the news.
Lastly the Department of Justice admits it has a classified interpretation of exactly what IT thinks the Patriot Act entitles it to do. In other words, though there is a very public Partiot Act, its a classified and secret Patriot Act that is actually applied. Legislation has been introduced in this lame duck session of Congress by Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich and others demanind that the Justice Department release its classified version of the law as applied.
Actually I pay close attention to the news. But I am not brainwashed into thinking that the government always has the best or Constitutional interest of the common man inn mind.
And regarding the origin of the Patriot Act? I am fully aware that it was given to us by George W. Bush and company, a Republican Adminstration, in response to 9/11 - though key provisions were written well before 9/11. It seems that they just needed 9/11 as an excuse to foist it on the American Public.
I am ALSO quite aware that Obama extended essentially the whole act. Democrats in political forums had to eat a bit of crow when Obama did that as they didn't think he would.
I, by the way, am a libertarian leaning Republican. Why not just be a Libertarian? Because the deck is stacked against any third party by the big two. To become a political force you must take over one of the two main parties from within. And that is exactly what we intend to do.
Did you know that Human trafficking in America is a multi-billion dollar business, and that is here in the heaviest defended country and highest funded criminal law enforcement agency in the world!!!! Imagine what it is elsewhere. Almost ever Asian message parlor is a forced sex shop and the law has its hands bind, all it can legally do is shut them down, charge a fine a small fine and they re-open somewhere else. Also many strip clubs trick FSU girls into going there to work (I watched the show on Dateline MSNBC about this) it is so connected that if the girls do not work for them there are actually Russian hitman that will harm there families back home if they do not cooperate!!! It didn't mention the Russian mafia, but obviously they would be the only ones with the network to accomplish that. And also the same show but not nearly as big is that it happens to run-away American girls aswell, how many girls/boys go missing each year in the U.S. the numbers are astounding yet those numbers have become a part of us to the point we are numb to it and do not even think about it anymore or what is becoming of these people. There just gone, I am not effected, so what. The cases we here on tv are less than 1% of the total number (white girls) that go missing, when was the last time you saw a black or hispanic or asain even a foreign missing girl on CNN? Its a tool the big news uses to make down play are fears by focusing are attention and a single target. Same way as the Israeli conflict is diverting attention away from the Middle East and Africa.
There are over 300 million people in America, if the sex slavers skim .001% of that they make a huge profit and nobody gives a shit, its wrong, needs to be stopped but as I have said for many years the vast majority of people are sheep. Plain and Simple.
Jetmba, if you are well aware that President Bush signed the Patriot Act and was extended by President Obama, then you had no business labeling it as a trait of a Romney supporter. Blaming the Republican for things that have gone wrong while playing "innocent" is what got President Obama elected.
The two wars were started under Republican President Bush, but what was he to do? He was the Commander in Chief. He didn't have to, but he got Congress to vote on it and they both got approved. They were further approved and supported by about three dozen other countries. Yet, the two wars were blamed on Republicans.
While it helped, war wasn't the biggest cause of the recession. President Obama blamed it "Republican tax cuts" although he voted to extend it two years ago. That is still an issue with the "fiscal cliff" coming. He says that tax cuts for the rich is "what caused the mess in the first place." Yet, he favors tax cuts for the middle class. He does not elaborate because taxing the rich sounds good. Tax cuts for the rich is bad for the economy and tax cuts for the middle class is good?
I submit to you that tax cuts of any kind to anyone is good for the economy. It creates the much needed capitalization for business and keeps it away from government where all they do is spend and not create wealth. In any recession, the economy bounces back. The job losses in 2008 - 2009 was blamed on the Republicans and President Bush and President Obama took credit when these jobs came back as workers were re-hired.
The recession was largely caused by the Real Estate crisis. The two wars cost the economy about $5 trillion, Real Estate cost it $17 trillion. It started with the Affordable Housing Act by President Clinton. That enabled banks to look the other way for mortgage qualification. Bipartisan legislation that supported affordable housing followed. Greediness from everyone, Republican and Democrat alike came next with real estate prices going up which did not show any signs of ever coming down until it did, big time.
Raise taxes on the rich because you have convinced the people, but do not blame it as a cause for the recession or in the name of a better economy.
It's been 2-3 years since I have been to a strip club, never to massage parlors. I have never encountered an FSU woman who worked at these places. I hardly encounter FSU women at all.
I guess my real question on this thread is, if it does exist. What connection does it have to FSU dating? Does it have any connection at all? Fiance.com? Elenasmodels? The agencies whom they represent?
This never entered my mind until I ran into 8 accusers at once on Twitter. They led by two women whose profile said they were Republicans, as well as human trafficking advocates.
Human trafficking can happen anywhere. At least five years ago while driving down to Florida, about a half an hour south of Atlanta, I started to see billboard after billboard of advertising for massage parlors. This went on for miles,, they were full size billboards all lit up, so close together, you had to be along side of them to read all of it. Local zoning went right out the window in that county.
I’m thinking there were at least a half dozen parlors being advertised,, over and over again. It was starting to get late and I saw a good deal on a hotel,,, so I turned off of the Interstate and checked it out. I drove past it, and it looked like a converted house, nothing fancy. I’m thinking,,,,,, every cop,, local, county, and state can see all of these billboards,,,,, they must be legal and legit???
I checked into my hotel,,,, showered and headed over. The name of the place was; The J Spa!! I’m thinking again,,,, J for Japanese ,,,, or J for Johnson??? It was a Japanese bath house,,,, so I’m thinking a big tub and a massage. It turned out to be a table with a garden hose and a sponge,,, then a sauna and finally the massage. About ten minutes into the massage, she asks me to turn over,,, I shock my head,,,, No. ,,,,,TURN OVER!!! I turned over. She starts to massage my feet which was nice,,,, but then moved up,,,, and told me the choices and prices!!
She didn’t speak much English,,, but she was trying to have a conversation. She was Korean,,, and some how at the time,,,, I knew the word “Hello” in Korean. She told me how long she had been in the US,,, and where she was from,,,, and I wonder if she was trying to reach out to me?? She seemed to be a very serious person,,, in her late 20’s .
There were other girls there,, all were younger and Asian. They didn’t look sad or exploited,, in fact, they looked quite happy?? To have a group of Asian girls in such a place, that don’t speak much English,,, they most likely had to be illegal.
Ragingbull: I was not blaming the Patriot Act on Romney supporters - I was specifically taking a jab at YOU for an earlier post you had written supporting the Patriot Act. I did not have time to write a proper jab at that time so I took THIS opportunity.
You mention the two wars that were started by Bush but "what was he to do?". To do about what? Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq. According to General Wesley Clark, Iraq was one of seven countries the US intended to invade all along it just needed a convenient excuse. 9/11 was carried out by a group that originally assisted the CIA and was composed of 11 Saudis out of 14. So we attacked..... IRAQ? WHY? Because it was a Middle Eastern country, it was convenient, America wanted revenge against SOMEBODY (didn't matter who) and most Americans don't know the difference between Middle Eastern countries anyway.
Under the Constitution Bush WAS required to get Congressional approval, so it is not a great matter that he did. That Obama HASN'T looked for Congressional approval before taking such action as bombing Libya, speaks negatively toward Obama, not favorably toward Bush.
The financial crisis was ENTIRELY caused by over expansion of the real estate market, easy money policies of the Federal Reserve AND the spending nearly $2 billion PER DAY fighing useless wars, that do absolutely nothing for our national security or anyone's freedom - but are only carried out to make defense contractors (the military industrial complex) also known as campaign contributors very rich.
The tax cut issue is silly. We simply cannot sustain deficits of $1.5 trillion per year and nothis so far has shown that the Bush era tax cuts, extended by corporatist Obama, have done anything to increase capital spending or to decrease unemployment. The rich have never had it so good in America as they have now compared to the lowe classes. There is greater disparity between the classes than there has been at anytime since the Great Depression. The argument in favor of tax cuts to promote growth is a tired, old argument and it has not proved to be accurate.
By the way - Ragingbull, the fact that the US had the support of some 30 other countries in the invasion of Iraq does not speak to the relative propriety or impropriety of the invasion. Rather it speaks to the clout the US has had in the world of late. With some 900 military bases in some 130 countries, and so many billions of dollars given in foreign aid, its fair to say that the US has an empire, and can call in favors of support anytime it wants or needs to.
That support may be waning though. Kindly note the recent UN vote upgrading the standing of Palestine. Only Israel (naturally), the US and CANADA, voted against the move toward Palestinian statehood, along with six other insignigicant states like Panama, Maldives and the Marshall Islands.
All other countries either voted against the hard pushed interest of the United States, or abstained from voting altogether.
There is an old joke about a drunk guy crawling around the ground under a street light. A passerby stops and asks him what he is doing. The drunk says "I'm looking for my car keys."
The good natured passerby tried to help him look for a little while without success and then says "Where exactly were you when you dropped them?"
The drunk says "I was across the street."
The passerby says "Across the street? Then why are you looking for them here?"
The drunk says "The light is better."
We apparently that was also the reason the US invaded Iraq after the 9/11 attack. Iraq had nothing to do with the attack. But the light was better.
