Barclays bank have announced that they will cut the amount of cash available per day on ATM cards to £300 per day.
The new limit effective from 16th April 2004 is an effort to combat fraudulent use of "Connect and Electron" cards, and limit the amount available to thieves before the cards are reported stolen !!
This is pertinent guys, because if you are in the FSU and planning to settle anything at the end of your stay in cash, be sure to get the amount you need out a few days in advance, or a little at a time over a few days, or you could end up in an embarrassing position on your final day of having a great bank balance you cannot get at :o))
Its probable that other banks and financial institutions will follow this lead, so if in doubt, check with your bank before you go !!!
Did you know that the Nationwide B.S. does not charge for taking out money when you are abroad !it can save you between £3 and £5 a go,which addds up when you are away for a long time
