I can speak basic russian and plan to travel to UA to improve my language skills. Which places can be recommended to stay for a couple months. I have heard that places like odessa and kiev arent that good anymore to meet nice women. How about Nikolaev, Kherson or Crimea? Thanks for your feedback. As a foreigner you will still expect to pay 5-900 dollars per month in big cities but as low as $300 and up for smaller cities. I spend alot of time in Kherson. Its a short drive to Odessa, has reliable daily trains to Kyiv and prices are good for apartments, even in city center. Oh, did I mention? Its full of pretty girls and 3 good nightclubs. Odessa is really nice in summer and lots of things to do and Kiev in any time of year. The other obvious thing is that it is where most of the women are. I found a perfectly nice (I thought) apartment going for $50 in Mariupol. My Mariupol girl's mother told me she "knew someone" and could call in a favor for an apartment at $37 (!?!?) per night - it was the worst dump I have ever seen in my life. But he was loud ,and very obnoxious, who also flashed his money to everyone he did not know.He was renting an apartment for many months in Odessa and was not coming home for a good while . After being drugged and mugged on two occasions he finally did come home to USA. In a casket . Found dead and beat to death. I am friends of his family. She taught me NEVER to open my wallet where a stranger could see inside. When I had to pay for something she always positioned her body, casually, between my open wallet and the peering eyes of any bystanders. As we walked down the street one day some small children who were beggers, asked me for some money - as I was about to given them some she advised against it and insisted we go into a restaurant that was right there. We didn't eat we - just looked out the window and I asked her why I should be so worried about little children beggers. She said it wasn't the little children to be worried about - they were decoys. And we watched as an elderly couple kind enough to stop and give the children money - was quickly rushed by much bigger teenagers who had been waiting behind a corner.
