Hey ..I just thought to post this link if someone is intrested of girls in Moscow..Looks like it it great place for mongering http://www.wikisexguide.com/wiki/moscow
Hmmm...thank you, Timonelama. I think I would better luck there than my other visits to Russia. At least you would know the woman's intentions, or lack thereof. By the way, in Ukraine I have seen such services advertised on late night TV.
Cheers
“Starting from the late 1990s, the Moscow city government made many noticeable attempts to eliminate prostitution in Russia and there is serious jail time for prostitution to eliminate these markets, other than to eliminate some of the more obvious points along Tverskaya, Moscow's main avenue. Tochkas are controlled by organized criminal gangs that bribe local police departments in order to remain in business. Instead, the city police randomly checked the documents of women traveling alone after dark. For this reason, prostitutes often carried a hundred rubles with which to bribe the police.
However, the problem of street prostitution in central Moscow was successfully eradicated with the improving of the economic situation by the second half of the years 2000-2010.”
I read the whole article,,, and most of what follows this first paragraph is about finding and choosing the right hooker?! Lol
As I started to read it,, I first thought it would be nothing but a crock,,,, until I saw the 2000-2010!
I believe I walked the very area this story talks about,,, Tverskaya St, or Ave. At one time there was an Intourist Hotel on that street, with a western style pizza place next door. I believe a newly built Hilton took it’s place The old hotel had a small restaurant on the 7th floor, if memory serves me correctly. I just found out from the link that I posted,, that the Intourist was also a government owned hotel,,, just like the Rossia. The reason why I’m pointing this out,,, is that BOTH of them were just crawling with prostitutes.
The Rossia had 4 main entrances, and the south entrance had the main lobby, bar, and restaurant. They had doormen checking passports at each,,, and a booth for the women to register if they intended to enter or stay.
The Rossia was a huge hotel that had 4 little café’s on each floor, and a woman sitting at a desk by each elevator,,, to give and receive the room keys.
Around 10 or 11:00pm,,, you could hear all of the knocking on the doors,,,,, hookers going from door to door searching for foreign men. Some guys said that the receptionists sold the room numbers for a small fee?
If the local government was trying to curb prostitution in Moscow,,, it was doing a very poor job back in 1998. This hotel was just a long baseball throw away from the Kremlin.
I once arranged to meet a girl from outside Moscow in the city. I sent her money for her trip. We arranged to meet in a public place in central Moscow on the day of our arrival. I went there and she did not turn up, I thought: "Oh dear I came all the way to Russia and I was stood up". The following day, I can't remember how, I got in touch with her and we finally met. It turned out she was new to Moscow and did not know. She booked a room in a cheap hotel on the outskirts of Moscow, to make it cheap for me. But the police know that these hotels are a landing place for provincial girls who come to Moscow to work in the sex industry and they are always watching them. So they raided the hotel where she was staying, took her to the police station and threw her in a cell full of prostitutes to spend the night. The following day she managed to convince them she was a real visitor. She came to me all distressed and feeling humiliated.
I asked her why she did not give the police my hotel name and my name to contact me to get my help. She said "I did not want to inconvenience you"
Nice girl!
WS,, that story just doesn’t sound right. The police in Moscow really don’t care about prostitutes,, especially if they are on the outskirts of town. If they harass the women,, it’s most likely to collect a bribe or to get a freebie.
During my time in Moscow, I was almost ran over by the police twice. They spend their day driving around Red’s Square, GUM, and Revolutionary,,??? square I think?,,,, totally hammered. They almost tipped their little cars over at midday.
Many girls in Ukr and Russia will rent a room from old widows,, often sharing a room with several other girls. My Irina couldn’t believe the size of our homes here and the land around them,,, the space. She was absolutely astonished by our house trailers we use for fishing and hunting. She took several photos of the larger trailer inside and out, and mailed them back to her parents,,, explaining how we pull them behind our cars?!! She told me, that the one trailer was bigger than most flats!
that story WS, i just couldnt help laughing at the whole idea of it.
the poor girl.
the more i think about it, the more funny it is.
glad it was you not me for some russians have problems of having someone laugh at their misgivings.
the drama itself and the endless giggle would possibly destroy all romance ideas totally..
i see more prostitutes home here then i did in the FSU, wish ours looked the same..
It would have been good if you had been there to laugh at her on her face so that you got a good slap on yours, then I would have been able to laugh about it.
yeah not many people understand our humour down here, why we laugh at bad stuff.
i think this is a particular trait of NZ's, Aussies mainly.
end of the day its about tact and how one is able to rise themselves or others above what the shit is and have a good laugh or giggle i guess, or one can just be depressed and angry.
i know which place i would want my head.
yes WS they are a fiery lot, i have not got a slap,,,,,,,, oh yes i have:) she can slap me anytime:)
but i love how their anger melts away to it never to be a issue again.
a westerner will possibly bring that rubbish up again and again,,,,,,,,, if you allow.
then again as in fiery,, the police in Kiev got the shock from abroad when they tried it on with a Kiwi girl i was with in the square.
they managed to steal her wallet when she was drunk when checking ID.
her screams of "you pack of bastards wheres my f#@ken" had one of the 4-5 coppers throw the money on the footpath pleading they dont have it.
the drunk polish guy there who was actually arrested was able to run away through all the commotion.
the cops moved on a little bewildered.
theres two types of people in life.
the small minded who think they are been laughed at.
and the other that sees the bigger picture of how ridiculous the situation is or was.
theres is a big difference in laughing at one or with them, even if their humour is a little detached at the time.
as in culture, it has zilch to do with been a straight out wanker as whatever you are trying to describe WS.
