I mentioned that I intended to be there at the end of April and beginning of May and hoped, per chance, to meet them. I was very surprised at thte rapid response I got less than a day later. Three of the women had replied. Regretably they turned me down, with absolutely no interest in meeting me - but even more surprising they all did it with exactly (word for word) the same letter: Hello! I would like to thank you for the letter and for your interest, but I would like to tell you that unfortunately I do not think you and me are going to have a future together. wish you good luck in your search. None of these girls has private email - all are through an agency. None are really new - they have all been listed with the agency since August or october of 2003 - each has received an few letters. what surprises me the most was that the letters were all received and responded to so in much less than 24 hours - and that none even showed the faintest interest in meeting me. I may not be the most incredible guy in the world - but I have seldom been so soundly rejected before, and so quickly and with identical letters. What gives? jetmba. I am also aware that quite a few girls get letters from guys who write them - for long periods of time - but just never get around to making the trip. That is why it particularly surprises me - that these girls weren't interested at all in making contact with a guy who is definitely going to be there. While it is possible that I am simply repulsive to these girls - I hope that is not the case. (I seem to have done pretty well before.) Is it possible - that these are girls who aren't really real, aren't really available or just wanting to take advantage of the letter writing scams we hear about? Why else would these girls, from one of the less polular FSU countries, not want to make contact with a guy who is actually going to be there? jetmba. Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 3/23/2004 1:25:20 PM   Olga - one more go at this thing: On further review it seems that nine of my letters were read - three were summarily rejected (with notification coming 13 to 15 seconds after the girl supposedly read it according to the time on the email). How about this guess: Those three girls are no longer available but their profiles are still up. that would explain why I received identical rejection letters (agency generated). The other six letters that were supposedly read by the recipients - but for which I have not received a reply yet - may be going through the expected time consuming processes of translation and writing an answer back. olegnay Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 3/23/2004 5:52:20 PM   I think you just did not match those girls requirements. If that's the case, it's better to know that than continue to be led down a path that leads no-where and spend quality time on those more real. You wrote to the girls from the same agency.There is nothing wrong with the fact that the response was that quick-as you say those girls are not new. Means the manager of the agency knows very well what are their requirements.Or it doesnt took long to contact girls on the phone. As for identical letters-all agencies( and girls) have a Decline letter button. By clicking it a template of decline message is sent. Agencies can use our standard decline letter( I giess some forum members could have seen it already) or edit it and write their own decline template.Thats how it works. In general-all girls and agencies are MORE THEN interested in meeting foreigners in their cities. Some girls do not even care about men's details-the fact that he will be there soon in person is the most important for them. And many girls would gladly grab this chance. (sorry to tell you guys, but in some agencies there are so called "brides on duty"-ladies that will agree to meet just anyone, age and appearance are of no importance.As soon as someone is in the city-the manager has to make a call and here they are-ready for conversation and some nice dinner with a foreigner). If you got declines-means ladies are really not interested in you-and the agency honestly informed you about it( in fact they could assure you that all ladies want to meet you, and then after you arrival find a reason to explain why she cant meet you today and offer to choose some other girls from their agency..things like that happen.) So if someone would want to take an advantage-they would never send you declines.They would continue sending you letters.And they will assure you to come to their city.People who want to get money with scams would never miss such chance ;-) So I do not see anythis suspicious in this situation. Its better to get a decline right from the start then to go all across the world to find out that she was not interested or was not worth it. Or if the photo`s were not the real woman, or if they were a real woman but were being used without her knowledge, for the purpose of soliciting "translation fees" or money from a man. I respect your points Olga, but I feel in this particular case there is something rather fishy about so many long term members declining so quickly, especially when one of these ladies has specified men up to 45. I'm sure we shall not argue about this, you are too much a lady and I'm too much a gentleman to do that, but I just have a rather bad feeling about this particular situation. I have mailed one of these ladies myself, and as yet have had no reply, and I don't regard myself as any better or worse catch than Jet, so I wonder why I haven't been blown out yet ? Maybe its because I haven't said I'm coming to their city next month ? It would make me a far better prospect to be dangled and squeezed for cash at a safe distance don't you think ? My email was read and I was notified it had been read, and within 31 seconds Yes just 31 Seconds !! I had a letter in my inbox saying she had replied !!! Now I cannot believe that this girl has been called, asked if Im acceptabel, walked to the agency and written her reply, then sent it in 31 Seconds !! The deeper this matter goes the more suspicious I am about it !! However maybe there is some explanation here. Let's imagine for example that the lady has a computer/Internet at home and the agency just resends your letters at once to her private e-mail. Maybe at the moment when you sent her a letter she was at the computer, checking her e-mail and found your letter. She got interested in you and answered. Though again I agree that it is impossible to compose a letter for 30 seconds, and the only explanation is -she sent you a prewritten letter. Now the question is - who sent you a prewritten letter - the agency (which I personally would not have tolerated and made conclusions) or the lady (which is not so terrible as usually some ladies use these template letters for convinience when they need to communicate the same basic information about themselves to anyone they might be interested in, just to see if there is enough of a match to warrant continued correspondence). Furthermore someone else from this site had a flat out rejection telling him that this girl "had found her soulmate" yet suddenly 2 days later she is replying to me !!!! I dont trust this scenario even one inch !! And last but not least, the internet in Russia, and all FSU countries is slow !! If this girl had a PC at home (which is Very unlikely and almost noone does !!) it would take longer than 31 seconds for teh agency to send it to her and for her to download it, let alone read it, sorry Ultra, but that dog wont hunt !!!! dma Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 3/30/2004 2:01:57 PM   I'm also inclinded to believe that some girls represented by agencies have the agencies acting on behalf of them with or without their knowledge more likely the latter. All we can do is finger (pardon the pun) the suspicious ones and let Olga do her stuff. I must have wasted several hours writing to a handful of girls who have a similar pattern as above - a total waste of time, so I just cut straight to the chase which worked a treat.
