If she stretches to unlock your door, you know you got yourself an unselfish girl. If she just sits there waiting for you to do everything, after you took the trouble for her, you know you got yourself a selfish bi... When I told my girl that I was about to book my trip to go and see her she set about looking for me for the cheapest air ticket, without me asking her. She is also going to book me in the best hotel she can find me for a reasonable price. She will negotiate the price over there (she works in travel) instead of leaving me to book it from here and getting ripped off. I wonder if any of you have subjected your girls to the Goodfellas type test by design or involuntarily that gave you a good indication of her attitude. The one thing that comes to mind for me is the willingness to take a taxi since it is not normally done. Metro and mini bus is what the locals use. I guess since your lady is in the travel industry she will get a few dollars for her pocket for booking you in a hotel but an apartment is normally cheaper and much nicer. Depending on the city or location quite a few hundred dollars can be saved by renting rather than booking a hotel. In Sumy where we stay it is normally around 40 dollars for westerners and 25 for locals to rent an apartment, the hotel is 50 a night. Maybe its tradition but I think in theory its a great idea, just maybe other things. Maybe the door thing is cultural. I can tell you that when I got sick in Ukraine she did get a car to take me to the doctors. kiwinorth Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 4/7/2014 4:43:50 PM   i think wifeseeker, give them as much rope as you can,, its a good idea. playing the independent traveler may show her you are far from stupid but it doesn't tell you much about her. i have noticed these ladys love to do stuff for their possible partner, so yes use it. i almost let them plan it all, apartments, motels the travel, the lot. all this of cause i had backup plans for of cause. i had to, been so far from home and knowing no Russian language or persons anywhere even close. my first trip was all prebooked around 4 citys of Ukrainians by a travel company(easy found, shes based in NZ, Ukrainian lady). only once on that trip was i not picked up at a train station, and had only one city a had to plan travel to. as much as i didnt like that idea one has to do something for themselves to understand the need to know the travel basics in these places. why i never touch buses now, after seen the drama involved, travel light if involving buses.. i cannot fault your angle,,, it doesn't take much to double check prices, thats the point of it yes, the big one i think is getting a actual good motel,,,, only Ukrainians know whats what there. i think we do this anyway naturally (goodfellas stuff) well i have in my passed relationships just to see if she would make an effort. it has amazed me who just dont and strangely 'not' they are not around me now. if she makes commission on bookings, good luck to her, this is part of her job,, its not a dirty backhander we at times hear about on here. good luck, enjoy enjoy bowhunter Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 4/8/2014 5:50:46 AM   you will see a different mind set for Slavic women then eastern women much the same as Asian women have a different mind set. you can call it culture or a way of life what ever you wish to call it but unless you put behind the political correctness and just be a man a lot of Slavic women will not respect you. I fail to see the reason why there are men who suspect the honestyu of the women they go to see and still go to see them! booking their own hotels, organising their own transport, etc. Who do most conversations seem to lead to talk of scammers and women trying to earn money from Western men? Not that I need to justify my girl, with bowhunter or anybody, but booking hotels and flights is not her job. Her job is to organise cruises in the black sea and abroad for Ukranians/Crimeans. I thought a reasonable apartment in Kiev would have been $100 or less. The lady, through her emails, which I thought were not her at all, but the interpreter through the agency once became irate that I would not accept $125 per day. I did not answer her anymore. I was just going to Kiev, seeing her no longer mattered. Her next email said she will meet me in Kiev and got a "cheap" apartment at $100 per day. I don't know if it is culture or survival but some of the thinking and actions seem more analytical than emotional, not to say Women are not emotional but in some things they just seem to think differently. Not many Slavic people will show emotions in public. I have noticed alpha males tend to do quite well with there search but men who are in touch with there feminine side seem to have a lot more issues. You may have noticed I did not call her a scammer just a word of caution and some observations of the culture and actions of Ukrainians. It did seem odd to be booking a hotel instead of an apartment. she may have done it for your benefit since you are a westerner and would have trouble getting around without speaking any Russian. BTW the map on an Iphone will work for finding buses or the Metro in Kiev. If your phone is unlocked you just pop in a local sim card and then the code for the sim card, it may work in airplane mode also but not sure about that one. This is such a narrow minded view of the world, it is amazing there are still people who think like this with the availability of the modern media and access to travel. You may have noticed that in this and other forums, the men who have failed miserably in finding an FSU lady, over the years, are the ones who are constantly talking about rifles, hunting, alpha males, controlling the ladies, etc. You may also have failed to notice that many women, when asked, say that the reason they are looking for western man is that they are fed up with FSU 'alpha males' and that they think western men are not like this. Nothing odd whatsoever about booking a hotel and not an apartment. An apartment is not worth it if you are staying less than a week. I have done this before. In my book a woman who somehow profits from men who want her, either directly or indirectly, is regarded as scammer by the scammer brigade. FYI I do not fit the classification of an alpha male and consider myself lucky to have met my wife. As you can tell by my s/n I am not much into rifles but prefer archery and I never discus it with my wife just my hunting friends. In every culture and country there are certain behaviors, traditions, holidays and what are considered norms for that culture. I have traveled a lot in Europe both east and west there is a big difference in the way of thinking and acting in every country, some are small might even seem odd to foreigners but there are differences in culture and the way of thinking. The Slavic people I have had a chance to observe and interact with are mainly from Ukraine but I have also had Russian, Georgian and Belorussian people I have met and interacted with. Even in country's that consider English there language there are major differences in the way it is used and the way of thinking. Certain traditions actions and way of thinking can definitely be attributed to certain cultures, some stereo types were in the past developed based on behavior of the way a group of people acted and looked. there will always be exceptions to every rule but when a large percentage of people exhibit a certain behavior it is human nature to put them in the same group or classification. the thinking that the behavior or actions are good or bad is another subject but certain actions and behavior is definitely attributed to certain groups. to believe that people all over the world are the same is to put blinders on and ignore reality, there are definite behavior that is culture specific. Even the way people walk can tell you a lot about who and where they are from. Take Americans for example most will tire after 30 minutes of walking because the majority of Americans never use public transportation and own cars. Truth be told you can tell foreign people from Americans because Americans have become lazy. now you cant say all Americans have become lazy but many have and it is to the point where our children are obese. My wife thinks all Americans are lazy except a few of our close friends. She also considers me lazy since some weeks I only work 48 hours and not 70, even tho the cut off is 60 and I have a second job but it does not count. Isn't it funny? while I was writing about my girl finding about the hotel, she went and investigated an apartment and came to the conclusion that it would be better for me as the hotel would be more expensive even if I paid for the whole week for an apartment. She said: "40 Euros per day for an apartment in the city centre, is that not too expensive for your dear? If so I will pay them the deposit". Bless her, if she only knew what I have just paid for a hotel on the outskirts of London..... I think we pay about that much but no washer or jets in the tub. By the way the banks are limiting the cash withdrawal's at bankomat's and inside. I don't recall how much in Kiev but it is smaller as you travel to smaller city's, Sumy is at 500 griv a day. You can learn a lot about a person from there body language and the way they walk can reveal a lot about them. In a lot of cases you can tell if they have had military training and by what military, you can also tell what region of the world by there gait and the way they step. Body language is one of the first thing security personnel learn when doing protection. It is one of the first indicators and warning signs used by professional security. You really are wasting your talent. :-D I will watch the way my girl walks, anything that looks like a goose step will send me all the red flags I need. Much the same as facial expressions can give you a hint as to what a person might be thinking. every airport in the world uses body language to help in the screening process for passengers. Since it is a commonly used skill it will not make a person rich. you might be onto something when you say using it to detect scammers. a persons body language can tell you a lot about what they might be thinking. clinical psychiatrists understand certain life events create behaviors, speech patterns and or actions that are exhibited in most cases. try a test some day, sit on a bench in a walking area and listen to people walk by. you will hear people have a cadence or beat to the way they walk and each one is different. you will also hear the ones in a hurry or just out for a stroll. it is the same as looking at a person who is sad or even happy you will notice facial expressions much the same as the way a person walks. I bet you will spend time looking at your lady walk to take in her beauty but I don't think you will be thinking about what her walk tells you.
