As usual, the forum software has added a space to the long URL (in the word "terrorism"), which must be edited out for the link to work.

The petition is 73% of the way to reaching the threshold for White House consideration, but the remaining signatures are needed by next Friday. If you support this petition, please sign it, and pass the information on to other US citizens who care about this matter.
What a joke!! The US needs to mind its own business and quit bothering other countries. That is exactly what a Ukrainian girl said to me at a cafe in Kiev several years ago, and I couldn't agree more. Why don't you petition the US government for property rights, something that US property owners have lost in the past several decades?
Yeah, support the neo nazi's that are running Ukraine now backed by the US government. Everything that is happening is all Russia's fault. Ignorance at its finest there.
rather funny seeing this one "the petition"
rather ironic
isnt this one of those scenarios of the pot calling the kettle black?
i understand and applaud you Durak on your stance and of cause others here.
but in reality the white house should be at the top of this list in sponsoring terrorism.
or am i been to hard? i dont think so..
a good idea but wrong country to pull this one, sorry guys...
maybe a petition should be put in place by simple Americans to the White House to say a simple sorry to its southern continent for actually doing very much the same thing beforehand maybe.
but i guess for most Americans that was not terrorism in any way, was it.
"Maybe a petition should be put in place by simple Americans to the White House to say a simple sorry to its southern continent for actually doing very much the same thing beforehand maybe."
The US southern continent is South America. Kiwi, please elaborate. I see in the media now and then that the US are the ones sponsoring terrorism in Ukraine. Do you believe that too?
RB, thers a lot of directions to go to look into american interests in latin america.
hey just look at Cuba,, but thats a little diff to all the others i'm getting at.
just to keep it easy watch The War On Democracy (John Pilger's documentary)
its rather entertaining the interviews with hard core ned neck CIA persons.
they seem to think killing a few hundred people to gain american interests is fine, they debate on numbers(for its about thousands) not were any killed to put puppet governments in place.
do i believe the US is sponsoring Ukraine...
someone who is a US citizen possible would be somewhere, as in how, reasons for it,, who knows.
but people with money seem to pop up from all over the world in things like this,,, possibly from NZ as well.
theres always political angles poking itself in when a country's go tits up.
look at our past..
one would have to be stupid if they think the US is totally immune to it in some way.
this doesn't mean theres actual support or a interest from the Whitehouse itself.
see how that "nero nazi" word has come up again,..
ohhh us Slavs love using it when we want a deep rooted hated of an excuse in something.
(fuck knows what but it sounds good for boiling Slav blood)
interesting how a few dumb kid gangs go sig sig in Ukraine and it seems the Nazis are invading all over again.
see how stupid we humans are...
Really!!!! So Mother Russia is "just looking out for their own interests and Russian speaking citizens around the globe." Well if they are Russian citizens, then go to the nearest Russian embassy and get a ticket back to Russia...Ukrainians don't want to be part of the CCCP again, they want to be Europeans .. 40,000 Russians soldiers near the border and Spetnas with balaclavas within Ukraine will not save Russian citizens. This is more like a terrorist activity with a excuse to invade....there is no genocide going on there... Last time a was there April everyone was either drinking at a party or playing a match of football aka soccer..
Any way .I don't thing the USA is going to invade Canada or Mexico because a few Americans there are living in fear..OMG
Even if Russia gets listed as a Sponsor of terrorist, so what? Congratulations on joining Cuba, Iran and North Korea, but we are not going to jump the gun and invade any of those countries... A few tomahawk missiles will do the job..maybe we will upper up with a nuke... LOL
Kiwi,,, where do you get your news from? I can’t recall any news stories that reported hundreds dying in S America.
We have a porous border with Mexico that allows 100,000’s of illegals to enter the US along with all of the illegal drugs that find their way into the cities and schools.
We pay millions and perhaps billions to S American countries to help fight the war on drugs,,,, only to have that money find it’s way into the pockets of the drug lords and cartels. They are actually buying/building submarines to bring their product to the USA. We definitely need to defund those programs that don’t work.
We should also stay out of other countries business when it comes to Tsunami and earthquake rescue and relief.! Cause really,,,, what other country is going to bring their aircraft carriers to serve as a mobile hospital for us??
Search and rescue for downed airplanes should end too,,, it’s none of our business!
hey lonely i'm a little surprised on what you are saying.
yes i know all that, what you mentioned,, thats not what i'm getting at,,, but in some cases i wonder if such might be a by-product of what i was getting at.
its fairly common knowledge here the games the US have had in central and Latin america.
maybe those documentarys just aren't played in your country for i guess good reason?
a good mate of mine, his father had spent time in a specific place in Latin america.
his story's he has told me makes that docu i mentioned earlier rather soft and that documentary isn't nice.
this actually goes back passed the Reagan era.
watch it,, i would be intrigued in what you think?
but hey even NZ could be put on that list for killings of others on their own sovereignty soil because they refused to become a part state or in a sense owned by us.
now we pay them millions too and allow free citizenship for our dirty deeds done.
this has been normal behavior for most of our countrys at one time or the other and you will find why moneys is given to these countrys.
they may make an excuse what its for, just like how you and i sign off pretend items for tax stuff in rebates.
the paper wording is giving as this but its actually often given for a very different reason.
having people still speaking personally of these events still today just shows this wasnt that long ago and how difficult it is to break that money train and sham.
why i think myself the word "terrorism" is the biggest sham of late,, it should be binned in all uses in law.
look at how our governments limit us or use it as a excuse to do things they were never able to get away with under normal policing laws,,,, we have some shockers here in NZ..
because of this word everyone's rights today has seriously been f#cked.
and if we were serious about it the States and Briton would be at the top of the list with all other countrys somewhere behind in the western world.
that downed airline thing,, i agree with you.
its strange how this area is a bit of a hot spot with military radars (because of china)
yet something can fly willy nilly about without thought.
so i wonder who was the important person on that plane..
maybe Durak can answer that one:)
The number of signatures is now more than 100,000.
By Obama administration policy, any whitehouse.gov petition that receives at least 100,000 signatures will be considered by the White House -- the promise is not to necessarily comply with the petition, but rather to review it, and to issue a response.
If it increases the pressure on Russia even slightly, I think that a good thing.
I agree that the word "terrorism" is grotesquely mis-used, and it was silly of Ukraine to call all of the separatists "terrorists."
However, there is a definition of terrorism that I think almost everyone can agree on: the intentional infliction of violence against civilian non-combatants, with the intention of causing a population or government to change their behavior.
"Separatists" and "pro-Russians" in Ukraine have committed numerous unlawful detentions (some of them simple kidnappings), beatings (some quite severe), and murders of civilians who themselves were not involved in armed struggle, including peaceful demonstrators, legitimately elected officials, journalists, and most recently election officials preparing for next Sunday's presidential election. Perhaps some of you aren't of the reports of corpses floating down rivers in the Donbass region. The political aim of this violence is beyond question.
I don't doubt that most of this activity is carried out under orders from Moscow. It is real terrorism, not ordinary political or criminal activity that is labeled terrorism in order to score points. It is standard Russian fare: Putin commits these kinds of crimes against his own citizens in his own country.
Imagine that in your home country, officers and local agents of a foreign power -- a power that has already occupied part of your territory with its army! -- were kidnapping, beating and murdering mayors, newspaper reports, and peaceful demonstrators toward the goal of seizing even more of your country.
Kiwi, I asked that because many Russians blame the revolution on the US, which is totally ridiculous to me. The US backed the coup that toppled Yanukovych and the US wanted to annex Crimea, but the Russians got there first.
Thanks for that definition, Durak. I tweeted this link. I got a few retweets. I got a response that the US are also terrorists - specifically he said Ukraine, Libya and Egypt. Without durak's definition, I guess a terrorist will consider those who oppose them terrorists.
Kiwi,,, I know what you mean,,,, agents of our government working behind the scenes pulling strings and making deals. And promises that they don’t keep,,, like the Budapest agreement.
I think if we didn’t do such things,,,,, we would have a lot more rogue governments and communism. The biggest problem might be that they aren’t doing a good enough job,,,, like in Pakistan. That has turned out to be a huge fiasco. You can’t make friends by throwing money at people.
Durak,,, what kind of track record or success do these petitions have? Have any important ones been successful?
Putin's delusion of Yalta becoming a venue of gambling when it would be founded on dispossessed ground with the threat of harm is laughable. "Build it and they will NOT come". There are now shortages in the markets and tourism is non existent. It has been lean for years because of the world economy, now it is fear.
Putin wanted to make a race track around the Sochi Olympic grounds for Formula 1 racing. Calling him delusional is being polite. Greed and corruption controls Putin, while ignorance and nostalgia keep the people cheering him on.
Russia is a whole generation away from being accepted to the world community again.
Russia will always be accepted by countries that need its natural resources. Even Merkel doesn't want to impose sanctions against Russia because she wants to keep the German economic machine humming.
