I've seen kindness, generosity, nobility, real dignity, and compassion. I've seen wisdom and tenderness. I've also seen venality, shameless exploitation, deception, cruelty, fraud, and outright criminality. Encounters with the darker side — which are difficult to avoid in this endeavor! — are like turning over a rock on the ground, and seeing a variety of disgusting creatures scurrying in every direction. ________________________ For a while now, I've been corresponding with a woman who is clearly a person of high quality. [I won't go into details here, but I am highly confident that she is substantially what she represents herself to be.] It's still "early days," and I've no idea whether she and I will turn out to be complementary in ways that make for a good couple ... and so much hinges on the first meeting, which has yet to take place. Not knowing what the future may hold, I know already that she is intelligent, merry, kind, extremely disciplined and hard-working, and a devoted mother. It's not unlike digging through tons of mud and gravel, to be surprised by the glint of a little lump of gold. At this stage, my goal is to learn enough about each other during the next few weeks, to know whether it makes sense for us to meet. For any who are interested, I'll keep you posted on developments here. I respectfully ask, that if you want to make comments directed toward any forum member OTHER THAN me, that you do so outside of this thread. Thanks, men. Just FYI, my subscription to this site was about to expire and I said this to just a small number of contacts on this site (it occurred last month). Since the time that it did expire (and was later renewed), message traffic has grinded to a halt. I was actually expecting a pm from durak,,,, danny crapped on his thread and I stepped in it. But after putting in a very long work day,,,, being lumped together with danny didn’t sit too well. I’ve had several discussions with durak about danny through the years,,,,, and I do not hide what I think about danny. It only took a couple of emails from him to learn all there is to know,,,,,, durak seems to still be in the learning process? During one of our discussions,,,, durak claimed to “Respect” danny? I don’t know where to begin with that?? After another one of our discussions,,, one of which I was hoping to get “everyone” to ignore danny,,,, durak writes a tribute to him?? Anyone seeing a pattern yet? I enjoy most of durak’s postings on the 4um,,, even the lengthy ones, but it is easy to see the bias in his political writings. It wasn’t too long ago, that durak blamed the Ru-Ukr war on Bush,,,, because he set a bad precedent. Bush,,, along with the former Rep. Pres candidates have been proven right,,,, and Obama is wrong! Durak,,,, more than anyone here, understands how Putin has controlled the Russian media, dating back to before he became the Russian Pres in the 90’s. Durak has witnessed the effect it has had on the Russian people,,,,, 80% or more are brainwashed. What durak has not understood,,,, is how a partial and gradual bias could effect people over the period of decades. Our schools, colleges, news outlets, unions have been biased for decades, and we have reached a point where half of our population doesn’t want to defend themselves or the nation anymore. The actual enemy is in the Whitehouse,,,,, and we just share posts on fb thinking it’s going to help?? Blindness towards danny,,, towards Obama,,,,, and now going on the 30th or so trip to Ukraine?? With all of your knowledge on Russia and Ukraine,,, speaking some of the language,,,, knowing the culture,,,, what seems to be the problem?
