Aeroflot must really be in trouble with internationals not flocking to/from Russia. VKO-LAX for $463....non-stop flight. In February, I flew LAX-KBP, ODS-LAX for $698 with one stop in Istanbul. Are you saying you transferred from SVO TO VKO??? I always buy round trip tickets as they are cheaper than one way tickets because the "change fee" is always only $200 no matter what. so when I came back a couple weeks ago a one way was $698 on delta versus $988 round trip which I plan to go back to USA on July 3 prices go up june 1 until September 1 but still you can get Delta flights for 1100-1300 round trip from USA vs. more than 1500 last year. I am diamond medallion delta member so I get best seats(front row economy) and free drinks for this price. Now is the best time to come! airfare and accommodations will never be cheaper than they are now. My transfers are always Paris or Amsterdam and I prefer Paris as I hate Amsterdam. Keep in mind that I fly only Delta because of the perks. You might find even cheaper flights now if the carrier isnt important, possibly under $1000 round trip depending upon when you leave and length of stay and especially if the very front seat of economy isnt important. In the past, I've tried different days when planning a trip, but never really found a pattern. Not all routes are served daily by the same carrier. Sa, April 25 2015 there is a direct flight UIA JFK - KBP $438.80 which is still better than Aeroflot because it's a direct flight. And April 23 until June 09 ain't way far ahead, only a desperado booked a nookie trip at short notice! Go ask the majority of members of this forum what industry I worked in for some 35 years ... From my experience there is nothing wrong or desperate about booking one or two days in advance of your flight. Heck I've even booked same day.
