Rick, hun. I don't eat meat nor fish since 2008. I'm staying in my weight for more than 15 years already. You can get protein from anything!!!!
Eggs, nuts, mushrooms, seeds, beans etc etc etc.
“Btw protein has nothing to do with losing weight.”
If you just want to stay lean,,, perhaps not, but if you want to lose fat and gain muscle, then protein is key. I just read an article saying that baby spinach was a good source of protein.
"There is much lore regarding spinach, most famously as the source of Popeye's strength. When faced with the sight of trouble, pipe-smoking sailor-man Popeye would burst open a tin of spinach. Once consumed, his biceps would bulge and his new found strength would see him overcome his enemies. Although there is definitely lots of goodness in those leaves, the legendary statue Popeye bestowed on it is slightly inflated."
"If you choose to avoid meat, you can still easily meet your protein requirements. In fact, a review published in a 2006 edition of “Nutrition Reviews” reports that vegetarian diets are associated with lower rates of disease and reduced body weights compared with non-vegetarian diets. However, don’t replace meat with low-protein foods, like spinach. Instead, choose meatless high-protein options like egg whites, low-fat milk, yogurt or cottage cheese, tofu, soy milk, legumes, seitan, nuts or seeds. Eggs, dairy foods and soy products contain all the essential amino acids your body requires on a daily basis. However, by eating a variety of plant-based proteins throughout the day you can still obtain the essential amino acids you need,"
One cup of Spinach provides about 1 gram of protein. You are going to need to eat a large amount to meet your protein needs.
Samson was given supernatural strength by God in order to combat his enemies and perform heroic feats such as killing a lion, slaying an entire army with only the jawbone of an ass, and destroying a pagan temple.
Samson had two vulnerabilities, however: his attraction to untrustworthy women and his hair, without which he was powerless.
These vulnerabilities ultimately proved fatal for him.
I know this girl who is a vegan. She will not eat meat or meat related because she loves animals. Sneak cut up meat into her salad and she will get on your case. She can tell, not just by looking. Then, I gave her a whole loaf of banana bread made by my mom. She loved it. One of the ingredients of the banana bread is eggs.
There is a resort across the road from me, order a chicken salad sandwich and what one actually receives is an egg mayonnaise (more egg) sandwich with just a splattering of chicken that one cannot taste.
They are seriously worried when I get my restaurant open :)
My Gf is vegan also and a slim 103 at 5'4" she said she did not like fish either but liked what I made before she left for camp. (First time in 8 years she ate it) she was happy to tell me that I got her to try it. Mine mostly eats eggs, dairy and loves fruits, especially strawberries.
As for me, i avoid complex carbs, sugar and only eat beef on occasion. Im mostly fish, chicken and veggies but splurge once a week and will have cake, prianik, steak, french fries, perogies, lavash, pelmini and such. Its much harder for a vegan to hit 50g of protein a day but 4-5 eggs will do the trick
And yes, I am a jerk. She was the organist at church. On her last day as organist, she gave me her phone number and told me to call her sometime. I never did. I know that if I spent some time with her, I would have to alter my eating habits. I love my meat.
