Since joining this site which I think can give people and someone like me who has just started a connection with a very nice attractive Russian lady, now I know that we all have to be careful as all over the world there will be scammers but to be fair I am sure that there are Russian ladies who are genuine, but finding out before making a mistake is far better than the later.
I would be grateful if someone can tell me if I might have found a genuine lady for the following information I have had as follows,
That this lady (Russian) has exchanged emails with me , we have right from the start sent emails to each other right from the first email everyday she has sent me photos of herself, her parents her friends were she is also on the photo, and also at a church meeting she was attending in the photo was her friends, she has told me were she lives area not address yet has mentioned me to her friends, also she sent me a photo of a Business event. and has been intimate but not sexual I must add and has talked of me.
I know that this could be people photos that anyone could pick up on the internet but I am being cautious but would not wish to finish with this lady if she is genuine Of course in due course I would expect her phone number address and visa versa but I don not wish to put pressure on her because she might be genuine.
Hello Spit. Welcome to the site. Could you tell us some more about your situation with the woman from Moscow. What is the age difference and how did you meet her? Have you talked to each other on Skype (or similar)? It is difficult to give any advice with out greater detail. Thanks.
I am currently using a site (BridesandLovers) infested with fake profiles and scammers. My experiences after moving to email at their request are:
1) They often use Gmail because there is no Originating-IP in the Message Source/Header
2) In contrast, mail.ru does include the Originating-IP in the Message Source/Header, and so Google the Originating-IP address to find its location. My latest scammer did live in Sevastopol as claimed.
3) Large-scale scamming operators tend to include photographs with each email. Does she appear as exactly the same person in all photographs?
4) Did she mention love/dreams/soulmates/marriage quickly (within a week or so)?
5) Does she answer all your questions?
6) Does she ask you many questions?
7) Has she refused to Skype, etc with you?
8) I Skyped with the Sevastopol scammer this week and she claimed that her webcam had just stopped working! So, I never saw her face.
9) Never give out personal details - the Sevastopol scammer wanted my home address.
10) Has she hinted at financial help? I have had vet bills, English lesson fees, translation fees, financial hardship, broken/old computers, etc.
I visited my lady for the first time after three months of daily chatting/ videos on multiple medias ( Skype / phone / VK ).
If you're westerner ; especially, American, its strongly discouraged to meet up or travel to Russia. Even though; there are countries in which travel visa are not required like Ukraine, she should be able to get a Schengen visa to meet you in any Baltic State or Scandinavian country.
If she can't !!!! BE VERY CAREFUL most likely, she won't be able to get a visa to the UK or USA.
Hi EricUK,
Thanks for your reply, I will give you as much as I can, and please, I understand that this could be a scam I am not gullible but if it is not a scam I do not wish to loose this chance it its for real,
Firstly, I was on a dating site called Just Seniors Singles, and this was around 29 August this year and this lady winked at me , 29th Aug at 9:48pm and again then sent me a message at 29th Aug at 9:49pm and sent me a message 29th Aug at 9:49pm and another message 29th Aug at 10:43pm I winked back and then saved her to favourites in her message which was all on the site and in the message gave me her email and told me that she hopes I get this email and she will explain in her email to me.
She did this as she said that she had to sign up on this site as if in the uk as in Russia she cannot join a dating site, she , I will say seems to be genuine but this is too early to say and yes these photos that are of her as she is in the photos with her friends and photos of her parents and the conversation that she has told her mum about me, now I know that this still could be even a man who has a collection of photos and a dialog sheet and it could be a scam or it could be the lady in the photo and yes she has been to the places were the has told me but she could be using this to anyone and these photos the people may not even have been told about me and also her mother she coud be just telling me this.
I know of people who have paid out lots of money, I am not daft to do this but it could be genuine but I did tell her that i am older than her she tells me she does not care about the age she is 40 years old and I am 71 years, but people tell me I look 60 years I still think that she could do better with a younger man I have had endless emails and photos all showing her and her friends in the pictures but I know that that does not mean she is genuine and could be a scammer
Are you saying that any Russian Lady cannot get a VISA to the UK if not why not and how can I get this lady to the uk if she is genuine The next few letters that I will get from her as we start to get to know each other if its a scam or when she asks for money, I will ask her to come to the UK and visit me and then at least I will know if she is genuine or not and then only then I will pay her fair back but I will book the fair myself.
Based on my experiences while living in he UK, most Brits preferred girls from Thailand or Asians .........As you know, for EU members, piece of cake; booked a flight and cheers! But for anybody else is hard and not that simple. I believe that we in the USA have a tougher immigration policy. ( but I ain't here for a piss contest ) I heard that is easier for them to get a Schengen Visa to The Baltic States, Czhech Republic or around the other Slavic language countries.
If you're a pensioner or have free time to visit, go for it. I had seen men in their 50's and 60's with what looks like thier granddaughter or a MILF.
Note that, she may not ask for money but if she ask for visa and tickets them are paying for her vacation. Pro dater comes at any age.
Hello Spit. It was an unusual method of meeting. I had the same experience on DatingDirect and concluded they were a mixture of genuine women and scammers. Have you tried to Google her e-mail address? Google some distinctive phrases from her first few letters to see if they appear on the internet within known scammer letters. The age difference does seem large and so proceed with caution.
I have been researching UK tourist visas and our government has some quite strict rules. It will be highly unlikely that she would be granted a tourist visa to the UK. Google "visa and ticket scam" as it is unusual for a real Russian woman to visit an unknown man in his country.
There are strict rules for a non-EU/non-EEA spouse. You must meet the financial requirement of £18,600 per year. There is a formula for making up any shortfall from savings in the PDF download at
"It is sad that a partner search is linked to your annual income, although it is part of the current immigration control policy."
The USA has a similar immigration policy regarding allowing foreigners to stay when a US resident petitioner files for a visa for them. You can marry a foreigner overseas, but that does not mean that permanent residency will be approved for your spouse. If you are a low income wage earner, chances are the petition will not be approved because the government will not want to allow foreign "deadbeats" to request social welfare assistance when in this country. If that happens, then your choices are to find someone else to "back you up" when you refile (similar to cosigning for a loan), move overseas to live with your spouse, or have a long distance relationship.
