The one I use is called "Genesis", and is availble in convenience stores in $2, $5, $10 and $20 amounts. You call an 800 number, enter the PIN number on the back of the card, and dial away. My cost to call cities in Russia other than Moscow & St. Petersburg is 10 cents per minute. It's also good for making calls inside the US. Since the card is based on money, not time, you can call whoemever, wherever. The are only two drawbacks: 1) After the card is used the first time, they charge (i think) 75 cents every two weeks (or something close to that) 2) The card expires three months after its first use, regardless of how much money remains. I usually buy the $5 cards - this gives me 50 minutes of talk time. Forget it - I'm betting you're packed already :-) I liked the Genesis card because it was disposable - when it was used up, you just bought another. Crash's card appears to be a decent alternative. The Intercall card, even with the 800-number access surcharge, is a couple pennies per-minute less than mine. It's rechargeable and doesn't have an expiration date. Worth looking into. The bill for a 17-minute call was about $84 <cringe>. That's what drive me to phone cards. For me, being able to call from anywhere was a bonus as well.
