Here in the Philippines things are ok for us , being on siargao island is a good thing,we have no confirmed cases of the virus, letís hope it stays that way, but still everyone is on lockdown and advised to stay at home, resorts and restaurants are closed
Hi ragingbull, what are your opinions on self isolation, I think in certain cases it would cause cabin fever, this usually happens to someone who spends so much time on their own due to being friendless and without any form of human contact, they then seem to live in a world all of their own where everything is happy and successful, but really they are quite the opposite,
self isolate until it's over. you basically self isolated anyway . no women can stand being near you . no one will be self isolated until it's over . it to take the pressure of the medical services as they can cope they just reduce restrictions . eventually everyone will get the china created virus who ever dies will die an who lives will live
Hey, Mit. Good to see you. Sorry. I don't believe you have six wives.
There are 36 coronavirus cases in my city, as of yesterday. The population is around 180,000. That's one case out of 5,000 people. When I go out to shop, I wear a mask, watch what I touch, not touch my face, sanitize my shopping cart, maintain a good distance from people, and sanitize my hands when I get to the car. I don't think I will get coronavirus anytime soon.
In New York City, probably the worse in the world, there are 180,458 cases our of 8,400,000 people. That's one out of 47 people. If I go to Las Vegas, I would not bet on one 1 of 47 odds. I would barely bet on 1 of 2 odds. Still, extra precaution is needed.
My ex-wife, the mother of my daughter is afflicted. She lives near New York City. The hospitals are crowded. She wouldn't have had good care there. A simple glass of water would have been hard to get. Her words. Her worst days were three days, April 2-4. She could hardly breathe, let alone, talk. Her oxygen level was 94-96%. Below 94% is dangerous. She is much better now.
We are all ok here as Iíve already said, and everyone is helping eachother however we can, restaurants in General Luna the main part of this island are doing food deliveries to people in local lockdown, they deliver to their home addresses, but someone whom we all know here on the forum for some reason doesnít receive this local service, he seems to have been missed on their delivery list, perhaps itís because heís got his own 5 star restaurant and isnít deemed eligible, or perhaps they just drive past him on purpose, anyway Iím told heís well stocked up with beer and airline meals he stockpiled before the lockdown, Iím glad at least heís happy tapping out emails in the dark so not to wake his sleeping partner , I think thatís very considerate of you mpc, , I wonder , do you cook him breakfast when he wakes up,
And ragingbull, Iím glad to hear your ex wife is recovering from this terrible virus, and I hope she returns to full health soon,
I was told that someone in General Luna here on Siargao Island has been self isolating for years now, heís been locked up all by himself in his hostel , lives like a hermit , and is surrounded by empties and handkerchiefs, perhaps heís psychic and foresaw this crisis coming,,
It's OK, Mit. I an not going to believe or not believe anyone based on who cares.
I am not going to slither away based on what others say either. I was ready to do just that a couple of years ago. That was the plan, anyway. Then, a certain forum member decided to control my posts.
I believe you even less. I tried two women once. In one way or another, you will pay for it if they don't get their needs. You have six? LOL. At any one time, the chances are, at least one of them will have PMS.
I have a FB friend from north Philippines. Each one one of her family, five of them, got one of those food packages. They got rice, three cans of sardines, and three packages of noodles. She should be thankful, but she was pissed. Others got in addition, biscuit, sugar, coffee, Milo (chocolate powder drink, similar to Nestle's Quick), and probably other things. My suspicion is corrupt politicians skimming for their families and cronies. That is a common practice there.
That was two weeks ago. The relief is about gone, and they are waiting for the next relief.
Do us a favor, cloud nine. If you see the relief distributors pass anyone's house, let them know.
Hi raging bull, today at our place a lorry from our village carrying relief goods stopped by, they gave us 1 bag rice 25 kilo , 5 tins of sardines, 1 large packet of milo, 5 packets of noodles, coffee , sugar and some toiletries, it was a nice surprise to say the least, we thanked them graciously, but we then gave it all to our staff dividing it amongst them equally as we are already fully stocked with supplies as our restaurant is closed due to the lockdown, we are still employing our staff here as we are doing a lot of gardening and planting of vegetables etc, and as they all live only 5 minutes away from us itís very convenient,
As far as I know everyone in our area received a relief package of some kind, but I do know from my friends in other parts of this island that some people have been missed and havenít received anything, it seems if you have caused trouble in your local area, been arrested or disrespected local laws and have a local criminal record, if you are generally disliked and snubbed by local officials,,you wonít get anything, itís the way it is here,
did you receive anything in the form of relief goods mpc , and how are you coping with the lockdown, do you find it boring in self isolation without personal human contact or have you got used to it after your wife sadly left you, I certainly hope you havenít succumbed to cabin fever yet or anything else 😀
We live in a marvellous community, my wife is president of the local school and in our barangay ( village district ) everyone has pulled together and is helping each other, nobody goes without food or any kind of assistance and everyone is friends with everyone,
My income has not been affected. I do have a second income, a part time job taking care of special needs "kids", at about 15 - 20 hours per week mostly evenings, nights and weekends. It's not because I need the income. It's that they can't find people to do it.
That income is gone, but yesterday, I got deposited in my bank account a relief check from the federal government for $1,200. I got that without working.
All gyms are closed, including the one I go to. That, I miss. I stay there for almost three hours at a time to keep the muscles that don't usually get used moving, run on the treadmill for one hour, massage machines and a shower.
I sweated on the treadmill for one hour. I needed that. Toxins being purged from my system. The hydro massage cleared my lungs. I can also take long showers without worrying about the water bill. These days, I do chin ups and a run around the block. The run is not the same. At my age, I cannot handle hills, so I don't run as much.
Food, my fridge and freezer are always full. I have a garden. There are no food shortages in the grocery stores.
I do worry about family. Some are afraid and do not want visitors. The chances of getting coronavirus is one out of a few thousand. I take precautions by wearing a mask, social distancing, watching what I touch and a hand sanitizer in the car that I frequently use. I think they may not want visitors because they don't want me to know that they are having a hard time.
I will get flak for this, but I sent the Facebook friend that I talked about above some money for groceries. Their home for five of them, (mother, father, two brothers) is about as big as my room. I saw what they had for Easter. They had to go to a relative to borrow rice, while I had abundance and leftovers. She was very grateful. She immediately got groceries and sent me the pictures.
The lockdown is certainly working, in our local area food parcels have been delivered and everyone is receiving assistance if itís needed, luckily the corona virus has not impacted Siargao Island and we do not have any confirmed cases here, letís hope it stays that way, how is it going in GL mart, have you received your food parcels, or did they pass you by, how are you managing to feed yourself these days, is your restaurant open now,itís only been 7 years 😀do you go to local roadside bbq instead or are you allowed venture out of your isolation in room 10 to restaurants locally you are not banned from, did you learn anything about self isolation during your time of incarceration in prison in April of 2015 , I hope so , as you can now advise us all of how to cope with being on your own for long periods of time 😀do you read a lot of books, or do you spend time online writing your own reviews reviews for your own 5 star hotel, 😀perhaps you should take up gardening, your place could certainly do with a revamp Iím told, I agree natural vegetation looks stunning, but when it becomes very overgrown it looks untidy,
We have a large garden, and have planted many vegetables and other plants which we distribute to the local people free of charge during this lockdown, we also do a takeaway service and local free delivery charge to our friends here from our restaurant,
perhaps mpc we could help you out 😀if you are finding things rather difficult and are being omitted from food deliveries and not allowed in certain eating places 😀 perhaps we could deliver to you a relief food package, how about some beef burgers, we are famous for our burgers, and we would gladly help you out in these trying times as nobody else seems to be doing so, 😀
Cloud Nine: ďWe live in a marvellous community, my wife is president of the local school and in our barangay ( village district ) everyone has pulled together and is helping each other, nobody goes without food or any kind of assistance and everyone is friends with everyone,Ē
You sir are a liar!! During my short time there, I quickly found out how you treat your neighbors. You have few friends and many enemies,,, even your own employees donít like you!
And you know, your place would be a great place to start a restaurant! How long does it take to make a burger?? And what kind of meat was that again?? Iíve asked several times now,,,,, but never get an answer??
Hi Stuart 😀how are you, if you would like to know what we put in our burgers 😀how happy our staff are working at our place, 😀the 100s of photos of our busy restaurant, 😀please look at my Facebook page, 😀I know you are fully aware of itís existance, all information can be found there, 😀😀, and Cecilia is fine, thanks for asking lol
