Well I hate to say that I have just been a lurker on this forum for the last three months, but I must confess that lurking and searching very quickly pointed me to all the advice and answers that I needed…and many that I probably didn’t :-) But those answers were all the fun.
Anyways to make a long story short, with the help of this forum, a lot of perseverance, a number of translation mistakes and good sense of humor, I now find myself two weeks away from starting a 25 hour journey from Milwaukee to Vladivostok to spend two weeks with my Irisha.
But I wanted to say thank you to all the people on this forum, who have me stay the course, weed the good from the bad and find the one woman that makes 25 hours in coach and airports all worthwhile.
Well, I guess I must be the only one around tonight so I'll give you my welcome, not that I feel it's my place. I will be interested in your report after you get back from your trip. ....Good work

nice to hear the forum has been a help to you,and that you havce decided to take the plunge and go see your woman.Best of luck with the trip my friend, don't forget to come back here and let us know how things went.....:))
jdb66 Good to hear from you as well. That's great that you have found someone that you really like. I hope that you and irisha have some great chemistry and a wonderful time together. I imagine that you will learn so much more about each other when you are together.
Keep us posted as we are all in this incredible trip together! 25 Hours is a long trip - mine in July will be about 15 hours (Massachusetts to Moldova). But if all works out then no distance is to great!
Now how many other guys out there are lurking? Drop in, especially if you have some serious goings on, or serious intents.
This is my first experience with any kind of online forum or chat stuff. But I figured that what was going on in my life here was important enough to break the ice. Whatever our countries or backgrounds (ex. Tim deals with jags and I deal with hags) we are all taking this trip together. We can learn from each other. Sometimes just being able to ask questions (as in my case) is a great education. And an encouragement!
Thats one of the biggest problems with Vladivostock !! Its virtually Japan, and a damn long way from even the UK !!!

Have a good and safe trip mate, be careful, and if you need any advice or help before you go, or while you are there, just drop by and ask us :o)))
Ens, and many times asking what seems to be a dumb question opens a whole new thread of useful information too !!!
Sometimes a question that might seem stupid to the asker will be something that someone like me wouldnt think to talk about as I have the experience and know the answers, but when the questions get asked, it jump starts my brain to realise that not everything I know is Obvious, to the guys who are only at the ticket booth to this fair ground !!!
Good point Tim,quite often I am sure that some questions do go unanswered because it might seem obvious to the more expereienced. But everyone has got to start somewhere........even you and I sometime in the murky past.......:)))
The good ole days eh!!!!.........:))
remembering the first time I took the plunge and headed east, with lots of "advice" from family and friends telling me just how crazy I was.About how I stood a good chance of being kidnapped by a very large hairy shot-putter when I got off the plane.......:)))).Guess I was thinking with other parts of my anatomy than my brain in those days...LOL.
Experience taught me otherwise of course and even though plenty of mistakes were made,I wouldn't change the experience for the world........especially considering the final outcome!
Im not so sure they were the "good ol days" !!
It was a lot more dangerous then, and a lot less was available to guide and help us, unlike today where there is help and advice at every corner.
I dont think I would want to to go back to how it was then if I was just beggining my search today !!!
